This is absolutely the worst pharmacy that I have ever come across. I originally wanted to try out this pharmacy to support a small local business however, the service and the time it takes to receive your drugs is ridiculous. Four out of the six electronic prescriptions that were sent from my physician were lost which delayed getting my drugs. Additionally, not only were most of my prescriptions lost but they would lose one prescription up to three times! I finally got fed-up with the pharmacy so I wanted to transfer and get my new prescriptions filled at CVS. Transferring prescriptions was another nightmare because Alpha Drugs would automatically refill whatever drugs I had purchased with them, which would then prompt my insurance to hold payment of the drug from CVS. Additionally, CVS was never able to get a hold of them for the transfer of my drugs which basically made getting my drugs impossible. I am going to call my insurance company to see if they can seize letting this terrible pharmacy refill my prescriptions. DONOTGOHEREFORYOURPRESCRIPTIONS!

This place is fabulous! the Pharmacy is under new ownership and they are the best! your scripts are filled instantly while you wait, the head pharmacist Raymonda is knowledgable, friendly and went out of her way to get a very uncommon medication that i was prescribed. As promised, my meds were ready and waiting for me when i arrived the next day. I was greeted by name and taken in to the consultation room because i had questions about a medication. Not your typical pharmacy… the pharmacist is behind the counter filling scripts and talking to patients, not roaming a large store helping customers with non RX needs like you see at CVS… I am transferring all my RX’s to this pharmacy… truly a great experience… and, if you don’t want to wait, they deliver.

I am so very sad about this place! I loved it as my pharmacy for a very long time. The owner, Peter is fabulous! So giving and caring. I don’t see him there any more however and the service NOWSUCKSAIR! Things have really changed. Over the past 3 months I have been begging to get some prescriptions refilled. They tell me they will be ready on Monday and it never happens. They tell me they will call me if there are any problems and that never happens but when I walk down there after being told my prescriptions will be ready… they aren’t and nobody has bothered to call! They suggest I take my business elsewhere so today after yet another unsuccessful attempt a picking up a prescription, I try that. They screwed that up too! They tell me they have problems with their suppliers after some employees defrauded them. I understand that can happen and I have tried to continue giving them my business because I think so much of the owner but this has gotten to be too much. I have asked of 5 separate occasions to have the owner, Peter, call me. It hasn’t happened yet. What these guys have done, is failed to communicate! So if your suppliers aren’t working with you and I try to, don’t you think it would be worth your time to call me if you cannot provide what you have promised? I think that is the least they can do. Sadly rather than give my business to this owner who has been so kind and caring to our community, I have to now give it to one of the bigger chains which he fought so hard not to be like! Peter, get some new employees who can do what they say! I AMSADTOBELEAVINGBUT I NEEDTHINGSASPROMISED!

I really like this pharmacy. I was formally using the pharmacy based in Whitman Walker Clinic, but I recently went to Alpha Drugs because of the disorganized staff at the Clinic. I like alpha drugs because it feels like you’re in a persons house. It’s not the generic pharmacy feel. Phillip and Natalie are awesome pharmacy techs. They’re always friendly and willing to help you.

I wish I could give this place props. I used to live right across the street, it’s independently owned, and it’s not CVS. It’s not your typical pharmacy — sterile, clinical, boring. There’s artwork on the walls. The display case holds antique medicine bottles from the owner’s personal collection. He’s friendly, debonair, and active in the local community, hosting events in support of noble causes. But you know what? Ultimately, this place is a pharmacy, but not a very good one. They filled a prescription without checking with my insurance company, the company didn’t cover the drug, so I ended up paying something like $ 300 for 30 pills. $ 10 per pill?!? I could have gotten something way more fun! They gave me brand name rather than generic, even though the prescription specified the latter. Once, they didn’t have enough pills to fill my prescription, so they gave me what they had and told me to come back the next week to pick up the rest. What the hell? I know, some of these mistakes I could/should have caught, but I’ve never had so many problems at any other pharmacy. Sorry, Alpha. You got style, you got grace, but you need to step up your game.
