1776

I went here for a Millennial Week conference. I listened to entrepreneurs from
(wedding planning startup) and Phat Startup and others. This is a great working and collaborative environment. The space, tables, and conference rooms are well organized. They also have a kitchen and eating area. And a jar full of teas which is important for that caffeine boost. Located across the street from the Washington Post, there is street parking by meter. Get your parking meter app.

Impeccable. Atmosphere, staff and food were all fantastic!!! I can’t wait to go back to this restaurant.

I’m not exactly sure how this works but if I were to guess it goes like this… Instead of renting a huge office space, whether it be an actual office or an office full of shared spaces (like Regus), you rent a small space at 1776. By small I mean really small. You rent a table and chairs. You and 15 – 20 other businesses do the same thing. Instead of walls separating businesses like you would find in a Regus, it’s the collective noise of a huge think tank, which broken down are several businesses, working independently that separates everything (a legitimate business that simply needs an open table, chairs, and wifi to function). In my first and current life as a financial planner, this probably wouldn’t work for me (compliance reasons mostly) but in the world of technology or in the instance of folks simply wanting to have a Starbucks environment in a professional setting, this is ideal.
I actually wish that there were more options like this in Hampton Roads. While it’s mostly quiet throughout the areas, you do notice that several people are hustling in their own respect and it’s the unknown as to what they’re doing that I think is motivation to work just a bit harder.
This type of shared office space is more thought provoking. Walls within our mind limit ideas. Walls around us can often impact how open we think. These open spaces are genius for businesses.

I was here for a meeting recently and was very impressed with the space. They advertise themselves as a «Tech Startup Innovation Incubator» and it was really cool to see that in real life. There are a lot of little groups of tech startups that rent space and also some larger spaces for groups that want to rent a chunk of space for a shorter period of time. There is a real «startup feel» that inspires creativity and innovation within the space.
1776, located on the 12^th floor, has huge wooden tables that are great for collaborating as well as smaller, more secluded spaces if you want to work alone. There is a small cafeteria space with amenities for storing and fixing your own lunch (I don’t think they actually serve anything there).
Our group hung out in a few different spaces and were really pleased with all of them.

Great incubator space for DC’s startups. I came to a few talks here (events are held almost daily and are usually open to the public). 1776 has a ‘startup’ feel in terms of décor (I love the red British phone booths) and it is in a central location. DC is an entrepreneurial city in terms of startups focused on data and government.

Went here for an event recently and it was great! I would never have known it’s there — it’s on the top floor of an office building. It’s a very cool and creative space — if I was an entrepreneur I would get a space here and work. Lots of couches, tables etc with an open layout. Each person decorate their own space and the open layout allows for lots of collaboration.

Who knew this little gem existed? What a great spot for creativity, innovation, small businesses, and entrepreneurs — all things that I’m a big fan of! I’ve been here twice now for events that celebrate exactly those things.
Located on the 12^th floor, this idea hub is built to induce collaboration and cooperation. There are a variety of spaces that an individual or group can occupy. From couches, to desks, to rooms, to tables — there is a little bit for everyone. I’m also a big fan of the décor that plays up a subtle patriotic theme of red, white, and blue as well as DC/​historical/​presidential hints. I hope to be back soon!

Nice Cali-​feeling area for events and events

The place is easy to find and conveniently next to a parking garage. I’m incredibly new to the area, so finding parking is a big deal for me.
I came by for a coding event and I guess 1776 was hosting at their place. I was excited to kill 2 birds with one stone, I got to check out 1776 and GA. Upon walking in, people are very welcoming and helpful.
Take the elevator up and you’re greeted once again. Open layout, lots of work spaces for you to take your laptop and work anywhere. I was headed straight to the back to a classroom setting. Lots of outlets, doesn’t matter where you sit. Young and hip environment. «Lots of positive energy.» I didn’t have the time to meet a lot of new faces but hopefully I’ll get to soon. Worth checking out.

This was the first coworking space I have entered in the DC area, and must say it’s definitely inspiring! I love the hot desks, open space, events, lounge and people. If you’re in search for creative or entrepreneurial inspiration, definitely a place to visit.

What an inspiring location. This place is always humming with ideas, great people, food, and a focus on breaking DC’s mold into something dynamic. You can come here to learn about and find opportunities in education, energy, health, and urban tech. Great innovation hub.

I came here for the Lyft launch party. This is a great event space that can hold tons and tons of people. I would not be able to tell you capacity, but what I can say if you want to get a place with enough space for at least 500 people, 1776 would make a great option.
