Jaymie is not just a good stylist but has the best client service attitude. Despite being a stylist for years, even once giving then First Lady Hillary Clinton a good cut at her place on Block Island, she listens to comments and receives them openly. She’s one of the few who knows how to layer a hair all around. Not just some side fringe razor or scissor cut. If you love layers, go see her! However, she needs to be surrounded by equally skillful staff. They are a really nice bunch but I am not primarily paying for nice, though that helps. Tried the pedicure and I can tell the nail tech is brand spanking new to this. She kept spraying nail dry in between coats. Generously. Did not even let them dry for a minute in between. As a result, when I got home, my toe nails were dry on top but not underneath so the paint was ruined. I had to re-paint at home. But she’s so nice I cannot even tell her… I do keep coming back for Jaymie and perhaps will try other services from the other staff, too, but truthfully, nervous about that. Good news is she has been hiring new people and adding new services. Maybe the new staff members have a higher level of skills. Dare to try?

Would’ve been 4 stars if it hadn’t been for the worst manicure I’ve had in my ENTIRE life! :*(I really wanted to like it. The staff was attentive & nice. But mayb the skill was not there? I’ll start with the good: Brenda. Omg, that spa pedicure was great. I love that massage chair & the best part was she let me relax. She must’ve sensed that I was not into small talk & just let me be nice & quiet soaking my footsies :) I didn’t feel rushed to get out as soon as my nails were painted like the other places. And her foot massage was excellent! She took her time & my feet felt amazing when she was done. They looked great too. If I had left on that note, I would’ve def been a freq pedi customer here. Unfortunately, now the bad: I won’t say who bc I feel so bad writing about my experience when the people are nice…, but do NOT get a manicure here! I pick & bite at my nails from stress, so I’m a really hard customer from the abuse I put my hands through. That, I only have myself to blame. But ouch! My fingers took a beating! They hurt! Y? Bc there was no soaking of my cuticles– this person just started cutting away & pushing with the metal cuticle stick! Then this person messed up the gel polish but was considerate enuf to *try* to fix it… By scraping my nails w/the nail file & soaking it in acetone that totally stung my skin bc of all the cuticle abuse… Then took the metal nail thing to scrape my already tender cuticles more in an attempt to re-do. thank u for attempting again… but yowza… the pain!!! I kept myself from yelling«ouch!» bc I thought it was nice of this person to at least not let me leave this way! The old gel polish didn’t even come all the way off, but I didn’t say anything bc I didn’t want s/he to keep going as I was silently in pain. What came of the second attempt at gel polish was not as bad as the first, but it was messy & uneven to put it gently. I’m looking at my nails as I type & they look so bad! But I didn’t complain bc my poor fingers couldn’t take an attempt #3. I tipped bc I felt bad I couldn’t give this place a good review as I had such a good pedicure! … & felt guilty about tipping Brenda(she totally deserved the tip!) & not the other person. If it was the pedicure only, Brenda gets 4 stars. I wish I knew where else she worked! But I won’t be coming back bc my fingers hurt too much & now they will look awful for weeks bc it’s gel! Wah! :(

If I could give this place a negative I certainly would! Got a voucher off amazon local and would have rather paid to go somewhere else(which I had to do when I left). There were people in there drinking beer and wine which I found incredibly tacky. I was there from 11 am to 2:00 pm for a mani/shellac and a pedi. The girl was nice but not fully aware of what she was doing and was literally dozing off on me while doing my nails that she was actually filing the skin on my finger and not my actual nail. There was hardly any colors to choose from and the uv lamp they use couldn’t have cost more than $ 20 from cvs. The girl barely filed my nails and just began to apply the polish. No cuticles, no soaking my nails. Nothing! My shellac was not shiny and hard but rather sticky and I actually peeled it all off as soon as I got into my car I was so so upset I would t recommend this place to even take your animals to… And I am not a complainer in the least keep in mind my toes were still not dry by the time 2:00 came around that they smudged and she asked if I wanted her to fix them and I said no it’s fine. I just wanted to eggy the heck out of there. Completely mortified and will never buy another living social/groupon for anything if this nature ever ever again.
