Cozy Cab Newport Shuttle

Called them for pickup but they never showed. If you’re looking for reliable cab service look elsewhere. Clearly not interested in customer service.

Made a reservation over the phone to have my elderly mother in law picked up at 4:30 in the morning. Paid with credit card over the phone so she didn’t have to deal with anything. She calls me at 5:23 worried because the driver said she had to pay in cash and TURNED around to go back to his office to have her sign paperwork!!! I called dispatch and asked to speak with a manager, a woman named Chrissy answered and said she was a supervisor. She gives me attitude because I’m upset. She says, «I don’t know what happened okay!» I’ll have to look into it and have my manager call you back. Then she goes on to tell me that «there are worse things going on in this world, like people dying from cancer. You shouldn’t be so upset over this.» REALLY?! This is how you speak to your customers after your company just messed up. AND, they charged $ 100.00 to go to the airport from Newport. Completely unprofessional and rude. DO NOT recommend using them EVER.

The only shuttle service in Newport. Good for airport about $ 25 one way. They only pick up at selected locations in Newport.

I’m never very happy with the Cozy Shuttle. Their vans are in terrible shape. Drivers usually look like bums and are rude to passengers. The web site says they take credit cards, but in fact they do NOT outside of 8am-​9pm on weekdays and the dispatchers don’t always tell you this on the phone. Very strict about where they will drop off/​pick up, much stricter than I’ve seen for shuttle services in most cities: even if you are the only passenger and they are passing right by your hotel, a block short of one of «their» hotels (presumably ones that pay them off), no, they won’t stop at yours, they’ll make you walk that block, at night and in the rain.
So why use them at all? Because the shuttle is $ 25 and a cab ride is close to $ 90. And the same company runs the cabs too, with the same lousy service. Newport really needs competition.

I specified the hotel when making the reservation, my friend confirmed again at the airport before getting on the shuttle! They said it is no problem both times. Yet my friend was dropped off at some hotel (not the destination) and was told that «we don’t go there» and my friend needed to figure out how to get to our hotel by herself at an unfamiliar place.
