One speeding ticket in 15 years of driving. I guess that’s not bad. Still, I was upset when I got pulled over just a few miles outside of VA. I received a slew of lawyer letters in the following weeks, and the only reason I chose Williams & Bagshawe is because they’re actually based in the town that I was pulled over. I did appreciate that their letter didn’t include any of the scary bold-​underlined DON’T LET JAIL HAPPEN TO YOU tactics. But the wording on it was unnecessarily confusing, in my opinion. Such that, when I got my certified check and sent it to them, it turned out I’d done it for the wrong amount. So then I had to go to the bank and get a second certified check for the difference.
My court date came and went, and I received no call or letter from the law office. After waiting a few days, I called them up. The receptionist told me she’d been on vacation, so letters were late in coming; but took the time to look up my file, and told me they had gotten an improper equipment ruling, and actually owed me $ 10. So yay for that. Although, another day has come and gone, and I still haven’t gotten that letter of notification…
