Vint Hill Academy (VHA) provides customized, one-on-one tutoring and test preparation for students locally in the Warrenton, Gainesville, and Haymarket areas of Northern Virginia, and across the country using secure online technology. We offer assistance in subjects including English, math, and science, and on tests including the SAT, ACT, and AP.
Our Warrenton-based teachers develop a unique learning plan for each student, tailored to his or her individual needs and learning styles. Tutoring and test prep are delivered both in-person and online by educators with advanced degrees and experience teaching at the college level.

History
Established in 2009.
Founded by former college writing center coordinators with experience teaching in Virginia’s public and private schools, VHA’s staff focuses on empowering today’s learners using cutting edge technology and instructional techniques.
Since opening its doors in the summer of 2009, VHA has grown to encompass six tutors and dozens of students in all subject areas. VHA has also adopted the Barton Reading & Spelling System as part of its reading remediation methods.
Meet the Business Owner
Laura K.
Business Owner
Laura holds an M.A. (Scholae Studiorum Superiorum) in English from Georgetown University and a B.A. in English (with Distinction) from the University of Virginia, where she was an Echols Scholar and earned Intermediate Honors. While at Georgetown, Laura served as a Course Assistant and as a Writing Center Coordinator and tutor. After gaining valuable professional writing experience at AOL and US News and World Report, Laura spent four years in the classroom as a secondary English teacher, first for Fairfax County Public Schools and later for Wakefield School in The Plains, Virginia. She is a Virginia licensed teacher, is trained to teach International Baccalaureate (IB) English courses, and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Education at George Mason University. Laura attended the selective Thomas Jefferson High School for Science & Technology (TJHSST), where she was a National Merit Semifinalist, AP Scholar, and member of the National Honor Society.
