DCS Tandem jumps from up to 2 miles high with up to 60 seconds of freefall at 120 MPH! Our USPA certified instructors are highly skilled and experienced. We specialize in first time jumpers. Tandem jumps are safe and the training is easy.

Feel the adrenaline rush as you soar over Fauquier County. Experience the breathtaking beauty of the Appalachian and Blue Ridge Mountain foothills and the Potomac River from your bird’s eye view as you peacefully float down from 5,000 feet. Your parachute ride will last about 7 minutes, and you can even help steer.

At D.C. Skydiving Center, skydiving is our passion, and we’re sure you’ll experience that passion when you skydive with us. We’re located in a rural setting on one of the oldest glider air-parks in the heart of Virginia hunt and wine country, only an hour from Washington DC. Call us to schedule your once-in-a-lifetime skydive adventure today!

History

Established in 2002.

DC Skydiving Center launched in 2010, the 6th in a coast-to-coast collection of skydiving businesses in the Bucket List Skydiving Network. Our skydiving history dates back to 2002 with the 1st center in Harbor Springs, Mi where Skydive Harbor Springs booked 160 tandem skydives that summer. As word spread about this unique opportunity in the picturesque Northern Michigan community, the number of adrenaline rush seekers grew. In 2012, the Bucket List Skydiving Network booked over 20,000 jumps at locations across the country.

Owner Kurtz and his sister are the Guinness World Record holders for most number of tandem jumps in 24 hours, breaking the previous record with their 105 consecutive tandem jumps in June 2010. Kurtz himself has made over 8500 skydive jumps, and says there is nothing quite like the thrill of a jump from an airplane and then traveling at 120 MPH back toward the earth!

Come soar with us!

Meet the Manager

Chris W.

Manager

«I especially enjoy sharing a skydive with someone who is really really scared; it is a privilege to earn their trust and get them into freefall», is what Chris says when asked what he most enjoys about Tandem Instruction.

Chris is the DC Skydiving Center Drop Zone Manager and a highly experienced Tandem Instructor and USPA Safety and Training Advisor, possessing a great deal of knowledge in all aspects of skydiving and drop zone operations. Chris made his first jump in 1995 and knew instantly that he wanted to become a professional skydiver. He started packing parachutes in early 1998 and doing tandems in 1999.

Chris is the father of 3 grown children and has 3 grandchildren, so it’s safety first with him, but his easy-going manner will put any jumper at ease! With over 10,500 jumps, 8000+ of them tandems, he has jumped all over the United States. His favorite place to jump was Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
