Thank you for considering Heroes Restaurant & Pub. We offer service to the residents of Warrensburg, MO. We been around for quite awhile now and know fresh food and great service is priority. We offer a Legendary menu that consist of great dishes and a full service bar. Dine in with us today and for happy hour!

History

Established in 1981.

Heroes opened in 1981 in one storefront in Downtown Warrensburg, MO. We now, 30 years later, have 4 storefronts, including a banquet room. We still make all the fresh food that we started out with like burgers, fries, onion rings and steaks. The Scullys and the Wards still own and run Heroes and are there on a daily basis.

I have been part of Heroes Restaurant and Pub since it came to life 33 years ago, in Oct. of 1981. I had a small part then-​I was at home raising 4 kiddos. My husband was the entreprenirial one. About 15 years ago I became the pres. of the corp. and along with my biz partner, Debbie, have been making people happy with delicious, fresh American food ever since.

First time here was hamburger and beer special night. Hamburger was okay, cheap beer was good. Second time here, Chicken fried steak and mashed taters were very good. So I came back a third time bringing family members. Got the chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes and was underwhelmed. The steak had so much gristle, my dog Alphonso would spit it out, if you know my expression. So, overall the place has its good nights and bad nights. I guess we all do.

I have not done at a lot of place in warrensburg mo but this place is great. Love the loaded French fries could be the best I have ever had because of the awesome bacon they use. It was steak night Thursday 10 oz KC strip and potato great deal. The unknown hero is a delicious drink and not sure what is in it. But I do like it a ton. So
Stop by and treat yourself to great meal at heroes sometime.

Family restaurant with lots of variety on the menu. The wings were really good and the service was fast and friendly. Burgers are really good. Taco salad was so-​so but the carrot cake made up for it!

The place to be on a Tuesday night. Love coming here with my friends for 2 for 1s. Unknowns are great (ask for Corey)! Food is good, too– especially the chicken parm! Always a fun place to go to before the bars, and usually filled with college students like myself. Wouldn’t recommend families or people looking for something quiet after 9pm on weekends. I also love the app Dash. I go there so often it’s extremely useful in that I don’t have to get out my cash or card, and can add my tip right there. You can also get a discount on your first bill with Dash.

Decent food, at a price that’s a little higher than it probably should be. It is a local place though, so I get it. I can’t recall ever having bad service, or bad food… except for the chicken strips (seriously Heroes, those 4 little nuggets for $ 12.95?! Are you kidding me?) Bottom line, it’s not a place I get excited to go to, just a «Hey we’re downtown, and I’m hungry. Fitters is packed and Heroes is right there, so lets just do that» kind of place.

We went on a Wednesday when they have their steak special. All the food was outstanding. Everything tasted like it was made from scratch… even the salad dressing. Would definitely come back!

Clean & the food was average. Onion rings was not flavored & the rest of the food was so average that I felt that I should have made it at home & save the money. I would give them another chance but I guess I’m just picky.

Not very accommodating to special dietary needs. If you can’t eat fries or bread for instance they charge you lot extra to substitute. It would be ok if the food or service were excellent, but they are not.

Everything started out well. Our drinks were served quickly and got our orders in quickly. After waiting for about 45 minutes our server came back by and noticed that we were still sitting without food. It was evident that she did not actually input the order.
After waiting for another 20 minutes we finally got our food. Mine was ok, definitely could have been better but ok. My co-worker’s food was less than impressive. He ordered a chicken chicken salad and they brought him a salad with no chicken on it.
I had high hopes for this place but was pretty let down.

A Warrensburg original! Located downtown. Check out all the old pictures of Warrensburg when you walk in. Great appetizers! The crabby dip with fried wonton chips is yummy. They have award winning burgers. I would order a side of onion rings. They’re really good too! You should defiantly try an «Unknown.» You can only get it at Heroes in Warrensburg! It’s they’re signature drink. Get it in a glass or, as I prefer, a liter.

Not impressed. Went on a Friday night, got the filet mignon, asked for medium, it was charred and shrunk. Dry and no flavor. Milkshakes were bland. Overpriced for the quality. Seems to me they try to be a high end restaurant but it’s average boring food. Wouldn’t recommend

Great little restaurant in town! I was looking for a place to get a delicious cheeseburger and this place did not disappoint. We ordered the onion rings and were pretty disappointed with them after reading on here how everyone really liked them. I ordered the Unknown and it very good. Not too sweet of a drink, which is what I like. We weren’t very impressed with the fries. We thought they were a little soggy. My husband ordered the french dip and really liked it. Thought it was very odd that a side didn’t come with it. For all that we got, I didn’t think our bill was too bad, but it’s definitely not a cheap place to go grab a bite.

The service here was good and most of what we ordered was alright, but we wouldn’t recommend the fish and chips. The fish just wasn’t very good, hopefully it was just a bad day for the fish and it’s normally better. The service was good and they did take the fish and chips off the ticket so we didn’t have to pay for it which was nice of them. The atmosphere was casual and good.

I thought the atmosphere was lacking, but I had an excellent grilled vegetable salad with chicken. The beer was cold and I left satisfied. Prices were a bit high though, so get ready to throw down on the bill.

This place does not look from the outside like it would be gluten-​free so I was pleased to find the «bourbon basted salmon» (See picture). For some reason, they gave me eight pads of individually wrapped butter. Perhaps to fill the negative space left by the absence of the side of bread? Why not throw a tomato on there or sprig of parsley? The salmon was cooked aldente, which I suppose is the correct way to do it, though I wish they would’ve caramelized the bourbon on it instead.
Was the baked potato baked or boiled? I really couldn’t tell you. I’m giving it only three stars because when I go out to eat I expect the food to be a little better than what I would cook at home. Especially if it cost $ 16 like this dish did.

When you live in a small town, you’ve gotta try as many of the local fare as possible. I tried Heroes on the first day I was in town, and I’m a regular there now. They serve mostly American Fare like burgers and steaks. They have some really good appetizers like their crab dip with fried wontons. On Tuesdays and Thursdays they have a Kansas City Strip special for $ 9.99. It’s quality food for a great price. Their bartenders are good at making drinks and overall they have a really friendly waitstaff. Only thing I would caution against getting here would be the Nachos. Great place to go any night of the week or for lunch.

You have to try Heroes… it’s been in ‘Burg forever. Start with a liter of Unknown Heroes and you will thank me later. Mom loves their onion rings… they ARE good, but not my favorite type. I had a thick cut prime rib sandwich. It’s pricey and doesn’t even come with a side. It was definitely left over prime rib, but was still tasty. Mom had a Rueben (no side either, but much cheaper). Overall, our LUNCH tab for ½ appetizer, Liter of drinks, and two sandwiches was $ 40… a little pricey, but a nice splurge for now and then. $ 10 for a liter of alcoholic beverage is a pretty good deal.

From lunch to late night desserts, Heroes is a great place to go! If you are wanting a great mixed drink, you have to try the Unknown Hero! Very excellent drink. For the most part, the entire menu is full of great items that will definitely satisfy even the hungriest!

Our family had a wonderful experience here! We were 6 adults and two young kids, a challenging group in a full section that included other kids (including babies) also. Our waitress, Elizabeth, was outstanding! Not only was she cheerful and helpful throughout, but she got every order right and was quick with special requests. Of special note, she was conscientious enough that at the end of the meal she asked if «anyone is interested in D-​E-​S-​S-​E-​R-​T», thus avoiding trouble by potentially riling up the kids; I was impressed.
Everyone was happy with their food, too. From my prime rib special with loaded baked potato, to the steak sandwich, to the salads, to the kids’ «smiley fries», nobody had any complaints. Their Unknown Soldier drink, a dangerously smooth fruity concoction, was delicious and available in a 1-​liter carafe.
Warrensburg isn’t known for great restaurant options, but this is one I’ll definitely advocate for. Thanks for a wonderful (and reasonably priced) evening!
