Fuzzy Friends Grooming

Pollyanna looked so happy when I picked her up. The staff always seems happy to see their furry friends. We’ve only been a couple times but we have been happy with the service at Fuzzy Friends.

I just recently moved to this area and was looking for a new place to trim my dogs’ nails. I found Fuzzy Friends and took 2 of my dogs, 1 of which is very nervous and the other blind. I was horrified to see the front end girl slamming my dogs on the ground and yelling at them just because of their issues. I explained in the beginning that both are nervous during nail trims. After the terrifying experience, both of my dogs came out trembling and I couldn’t even tell their nails were trimmed. I will never, ever take my dogs here again. The staff is horrible and their treatment of animals is completely inhumane.

I’ll admit I’m a bit of a pushover, but I felt like I just got super ripped off.
I walked into this place strictly to get an idea of their prices, services, and learn about their self-​serve wash station since I’ve never used one before.
The girls working seemed nice enough and cooed over my pup for a bit. One of them offered me a small «tour» and IMMEDIATELY started trimming down my dogs nails (which I did not ask for) while I still held onto my dog through the process. I thought this was a friendly gesture to earn my business.
Afterwards, they led me to a small back area (granted they are busy on Saturdays which I thought was a good sign) and showed me the tucked away self-​wash station and I was reluctantly given a short speech of all self-​explanatory bull. Then I was pretty much rushed back out to the lobby, but not before being charged $ 5 for the shotty nail trim that took less than a minute… that I DIDN’T ASK FOR!
Waste of time. They seemed annoyed with my questions. They told me to book an appointment a week in advance? I don’t think I’ll be booking one at all. Bummer.

After going to Fuzzy Friends for years and having a great experience, I can honestly tell you things have changed… at least in terms of grooming cats.
We have been going to this place for five years. They have progressively gotten worse. The first groomer was great and the prices were fine. Then a new groomer replaced the old one and after she had left we found out that she was abusive. She also put our cat in a cage with a Husky. When we came to pick him up he was trembling in the corner of the cage. A third groomer replaced that groomer, which was steadily OK. Denise had been there for a while and grew used to what we had wanted and expected.
Then today happened. When I scheduled an appointment no one had informed me that a new groomer had, again, replaced the previous. Nor did they tell me that the rates increased.
We went to drop our two cats off at Fuzzy Friends like usual and noticed that the normal groomer was not there. We walked in and the new groomer called for a younger guy to take our cats (never met him either) from us and said they would be ready in 3 hours. This groomer wasn’t friendly and didn’t even ask questions about what we wanted. However, I figured it would be in the notes and we went on our merry way. In the notes we said «puffy, round tails» as well as «no strong perfume products, natural if possible.» When we left I contemplated calling them to remind them but figured they would look at the notes.
When we went to pick up our cats looked disgusting. No puffy tail, their manes had been cut on the top (the cutest part) and the cuts were jagged, uneven and much of their fur hadn’t even been cut at all. They were super greasy and smelled like cheap products. Our female cat’s skin was flaking. Some of their nails were cut, some were not. None of the fur around their pads and feet were trimmed and there were still knots behind their ears.
The rate went up an extra $ 9, which I really would have had no problem with except I am used to good service for less. I am disgusted and offended that someone would do this to our poor cats.
Another thing that upset me was that the dog groomer I was talking with (when I came back in to see what they could do to fix all this nonsense she was the only one left) was telling me how it is common for groomers to use Benadryl as a sedative when grooming. I noticed our extremely extroverted, happy cat acting zoned out and spacey which leads me to believe that, since he is not an ideal cat to groom with his knee problems, they used a sedative on him which I would have not allowed.
We brought them home and gave them good baths with natural shampoo to get the greasiness of whatever stuff they put on them off but it didn’t make the cut better. I am embarrassed of the way they look and it is frustrating that I will have to wait until Monday to get this fixed.
The dog groomer and receptionist told me I could come back Monday and explain how we want the cuts since «every groomer is different.» We have been to several since we have had both of our cats and have NEVER had anything come out looking like this. I think our two cats were the only ones she had to do today and when I asked when they would be done I told her to please take her time. She couldn’t even put a bow or bandanna on them. We take such good care of our cats and for someone to treat them like this and not respect what we want for them is the biggest insult imaginable.
Please, if you love your animals, don’t take them to Fuzzy Friends.
