If there was less than one star, I would have done that. My name is Hesham Abdelghany and I have been living in the area for 7 years now and since then I have been a regular customer to this place, but unfortunately I have been encountering continuous unpleased experiences from the very poor quality products –which was forcing us to struggle to return them — to the poor customer service experience which can be easily the worst customer service ever(even worse than Chinese I would say). I am writing this review specifically for the incident on Nov 29th2015 at 7:40pm when we were trying to return a box of dates with visible bug in it and inside the dates themselves, and the ridiculous comment from the owner was that it is not their product! For God’s sake, what is your market product! And when talking to him, he just turned away to another lady checking her out while us waiting like that. What I did was throwing the box in his face and will never come back to this miserable place. I should have called some customer rights control or take any official action but I didn’t unfortunately from the shock of the situation and still don’t want to do that to a Muslim business but it is really amazing how he accepts easy bucks like that while he is sure he lost me forever, but maybe he doesn’t yet feel that because he thinks he is the only source in the area but will see how it goes and let’s start a boycott movement starting from ourselves till we put him back on the right if he is willing to stay in business.

I became Muslim when I was 17 and am now 39. At the age of 20 I worked in a Halal butcher shop. Besides the items in this store that are actually labeled Halal, I have serious doubts about whether or not the meat is actually certified Halal. It is my opinion that the owner seems to care more about making a quick buck then supplying halal meat and treating customers with the courtesy they deserve. The way they treat customers that patronize this place is anything but Islamic. My wife has returned home having numerous bad experiences at this place to the point where we have decided that we will not return again. From being sold spoiled meat to rude and discourteous customer service, this place has left an unfortunate bad taste in our mouth. I thought that perhaps my wife was exaggerating about the poor customer service until I went there and experienced exactly what she was complaining about first hand. While I was there there was a woman literally begging to get some help with her order while I, myself, stood at the counter for at least 10 minutes waiting for someone to check me out. In the meantime the owner meandered on the phone like we didn’t even exist. At this point we have decided to make the trek once a month instead to NJ for our Halal meat from this point on. Even Shop Rite, which has a limited selection of Halal meat, is a better alternative than this place — sad but true. I hate to out a place like this online, but someone needs to step up and make a statement. At one point during my own visit to this place I went to purchase meat and was told by the butcher that he was busy finishing his lunch, and that he would help me in about ten minutes when he was done! I honestly could not believe what I was hearing. And, In case they happen to read this, it was not the Spanish guy that works there, but another guy. Perhaps this review will be their incentive to take a closer look at their business and perhaps improve their customer service. My message to them is that if you are going to purport to sell halal meat, then you should at least have the decency to treat your customers(muslims and non muslims) with respect that people deserve. To be fair they sell a variety of items aside from the butcher shop which no doubt attracts people of certain ethnic backgrounds. However, their rude service is something that has caused them to lose my business and has earned them thumbs down from me to anyone within ear shot of my voice or my online written review.
