Evaluation and/​or counseling can help if you’re facing legal and other problems related to alcohol and drug use, including DWI, DWAI, DWI drugs, possession, and problems with employers & families. Screening & assistance is also provided for other mental health problems such as anxiety, depression, & trauma (PTSD).

Ms. Korby accepts referrals from DMV, court, attorneys, drinking driver programs (DDP), probationers, employee assistance programs (EAP), addiction medication prescribers (e.g. Suboxone), social services, other providers, individuals & families. Few insurances accepted.

History

Established in 2011.

Johanna Korby received her Master of Arts in Psychology & Mental Health Counseling in 2007. While employed as an intake specialist and counselor at Lexington Center for Recovery in Beacon, NY, Ms. Korby became fully licensed and earned her credential as an alcohol and substance abuse counselor (CASAC). She’s also been an adjunct professor of psychology at Marist College and an instructor at Dutchess Community College Drinking Driver Program.

Ms. Korby spent many years as an advocate at the Crime Victims Assistance Program at Family Services, Poughkeepsie, NY, and continues to serve victims in private practice. Recovery & Wellness Counseling Services was founded in 2011, and Ms. Korby currently practices in three locations: 3 Market St, Wappingers Falls, NY 12 590, 27 Collegeview Ave, Poughkeepsie, NY 12 603, and 372 Fullerton Ave, Newburgh, NY 12 550.

Ms. Korby was previously employed in marketing, advertising and public relations, and worked as a consultant to local businesses.

Ms. Korby is a New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor, a National Certified Counselor, and a Credentialed Alcohol & Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC). With many years experience in assessment, treatment, and education in the alcohol and addictions field, Ms. Korby offers private individual and family counseling services. Ms. Korby has an M.A. in Psychology & Mental Health Counseling and participates in continuing education in the field of alcohol and drug use evaluation and treatment. Ms. Korby is committed to providing the best care and assistance using the latest, evidence-​based practices demonstrated by research to be most effective in the treatment of those suffering from alcohol and drug abuse, as well as their families and partners.
