First Niagara Bank

I came here, reluctantly, because First Niagara chose to close the branch right around the corner from me due to consolidations after their recent acquisition of HSBC. Ironically, this was where I initiated my accounts decades ago when it was Marine Midland, and I opted to keep them here even after I moved around the area. The time was finally right today to meet with their financial advisors, and it was worth it. They still appear to be shuffling people around a bit due to the consolidations, but everyone to whom I spoke was professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. Each advisor has an enclosed area so you aren’t dealing with distractions from the others. There is a receptionist area which is staffed during busy times. I did speak to 2 different people for the various transactions I did today, and «passing me» back and forth between them was seamless.
The drive-​through has 1 teller window and 2 ATMs so there’s rarely a wait.
At this point I’m glad HSBC divested itself. From everything I’ve seen so far, First Niagara is doing a better job helping me to manage my accounts.
