Town Bagel

I have to admit this is slowly becoming my go-​to bagel place when I’m at my parents house on Long Island. This is your typical bagel and sandwich shops.
They have so many options for bagels and cream cheeses. I pretty much always get an onion or egg onion bagel with lox cream cheese and a large iced tea from the fountain.
Besides cream cheese, I’ve had their tuna salad on a bagel. It’s fantastic and my Mom refuses to go anywhere else for tuna salad now.
If you’re not into bagels, you can choose from one of the sandwiches on the wall or create your own. They also offer chopped salads with a ton of different options.

I live in Ridgefield, CT and whenever I go to Wantagh, NY to visit family, I always have to stop by Town Bagel. These bagels are the best. Let’s just leave pizza and Bagels to New York please. Town Bagel is the best!

I will NEVER come here again. I ordered 2 bagels last week and they screwed up my order and I got an attitude when I pointed out that I was given a cream cheese flavor that I’m allergic to. Today I went in and ordered 3 bagels with plain cream cheese and a small coffee and was charged $ 16.96 and was not given a receipt. When I asked the girl for the receipt, she gave me an attitude and not my receipt. When I asked her again for the right receipt, she gave me an attitude and handed me a receipt and when I questioned why was there a charge for a Gatorade and a water she asked me if I knew how to read… Really? I pointed out the Gatorade and water she charged me for that I didn’t get and had to give me cash back for overcharging me. Never again.

Always a great breakfast at town bagel. Quick service as well ! You can even make your own breakfast wraps at a decent price. It’s delicious

I had lunch here with a Bagel Meetup on 2/27.I observed a tremendous volume of people walking in the store between 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.There was always a line waiting to be served. Service was courteous as i moved up the line to order. I ordered an Everything Pumpernickel Bagel with Cream Cheese and Lox and a large Coffee. The bagel was excellent, with great texture, flavor and freshness. However, it was filled with a very skimpy and slim amount of cream cheese and lox. It came with a thimble size portion of Potato Salad, which, I am learning, typically accompanies a bagel lunch on Long Island. I usually try to buy hot bagels in the early morning for home consumption so I’m not too familiar with bagel lunches. The coffee was meh.
My take on this Town Bagel is that the food quality is very good but the prices border on gouging (nearly $ 11.00 for the meal mentioned above). It is hard to understand why a business doing such incredible volume has to extract from the public margins which must approximate 300% at a minimum. I’m pretty sure you can get a meal of similar quality for 20−30% less elsewhere. As such, I’m not likely to return.

We walked in on a Sunday morning. Ordered bagels, and an egg sandwich on a roll. There was a HUGE line and it did not go fast. The guy who took my order looked very confused. It wasnt a lot either-​Just 4 Bagels and one egg sandwich on a roll. After he took my order I have to walk over to the cashier girl and now repeat my order and pay for the order. (I HATE REPEATING MY ORDER) I had to wait a long time for my food. When i inquired with the cashier girl she gave me a look as if she has no idea who I am or what I was talking about. She looked over to the back and that was the extent of her trying to inquire about my order. She should not be working in the register as she did not take control of any situation at all. All she did was take the money like a robot. No smile. No nothing. It took 15 minutes to get my food from the first guy who took my order and when he gave me the bag he looked very unsure if it was my order or not. I had to take out my order to verify what was inside. I ordered the everything flat bagel with cream cheese. It was ok for me. The bagel was chewy. You know when you have to continue to chew and chew and chew because it wont get smaller. The coffee was good and exactly what i asked for but this place needs new employees or someone in the front to take control when they are extremely busy. There was no teamwork here at all. Just chickens without a head. I hate having to wait long periods of time when Im cranky and hungry. Overall ok. I will probably return and give them another chance because i live very close.

it’s a typical Long Island bagel deli however it’s very over priced and they never ever got my families order right. ever. to the point that it was a running joke in our house. There are so many bagel places to choose from we now go anywhere but here.

My first Unilocal review but i had to do it. A few weeks ago my gf found a shard of glass in her bagel. Now i was just eating a bagel i cut and buttered myself and there was a long blonde hair baked into the bagel. I’m done with town bagel.

Standard bagel shop offerings but plenty of tables to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee. Tuna salad was better than most bagel shops.

One of the best bagel places around here. There are long lines on the weekends so be sure to watch out for that. The prices do vary which is a disappointment and they recently increased their prices again. The French toast bagel is amazing. 2 French toast bagels with butter cost me $ 5 today. The workers are pretty polite but on the weekends they are rushing around to take all the orders coming their way. I would definitely give higher ratings if the prices were more reasonable.

Bagels are great, salads are good too but be careful they tend to overcharge you. Make sure you are aware of what they are charging you.

Not my favorite place. Bagels are good but if you want an egg sandwich be prepared to wait. If you order an egg special (standard egg sandwich) it comes with OJ/​coffee/​iced tea. Multiple times I have not received my drink and unfortunately didn’t remember till I left. Prices are high and often fluctuate. I have ordered the same thing multiple times and have been charged all different prices. I have heard this happening to multiple people especially kids. L&E bagels Across the street a mom and pop store has been there forever and is way better

Good bagels, excellent yogurt parfait and good chopped salad. I stop by every week. Sometimes I just grab some discounted bagels that are in bags on the counter. Occasionally I have to wait to pay and parking in the lot can be challenging. It is a very crowded narrow parking lot. Recommend.

Average bagels. Service is ok. Very high prices though. A couple months back I got one egg and a slice of cheese on a roll. They charged me nearly $ 5!

This is always my go-​to for breakfast on the weekends. Their bagels are hands down the best. Even if the line seems long their service is usually quick. My favorite thing to get there is a bacon egg and cheese on an egg-​everything bagel. The sandwiches even come with a free coffee! Also get the sweetened iced tea, it’s amazing!

Decent bagels. Prices on the high side. Long, slow waiting line. Make sure you check your take-​out orders before you leave as I’ve had they mess up my orders on a regular basis.

Place is so gross. It’s always dirty and the service is awful and they ALWAYS screw up the order (guaranteed on that front, as they just don’t listen or they simply, just don’t understand). Place has gone completely down hill, over the past few years. The owner also walks around, like it’s the place to be, but he should open up his eyes as the place is a sh*t hole (he’s also one of the most unfriendly people that you will ever encounter). Truly an awful experience and so many better choices close by.

I eat here frequently since I work in the area. The bagels are pretty good and definitely the best in the area. They frequently don’t put enough cream cheese on their bagels. The employees wear gloves that they also handle cash with and defeat the purpose since money is full of germs. The bagels are good tho so I keep returning.

I’m an avid bagel eater. Until I left Long Island to go to college, I didn’t know that not all parts of the country had local bagels shops. Out of all the bagel places in the Levittown/​Wantagh area that my family has gone to for the past 20-​odd years, this one happens to be my favorite.
My favorite bagel here and everywhere is cinnamon raisin, but the bagel worth mentioning is the egg everything bagel. As the name suggests, it’s an egg bagel with everything adornments. For people (especially out-​of-​towners) that don’t know what an egg bagel is, this can sound pretty scary, but I would describe it as an enhanced everything bagel. An everything bagel with a «wow» factor. If you’re going to come here, I would definitely recommend trying it toasted, with cream cheese.
The lines here can get pretty long on a Sunday, but hey, isn’t that a good sign? They are a bit disorganized when it comes to checking out. On numerous occasions I have thought to myself «no one would notice if I just left with these bagels without paying.» That’s not really acceptable. Luckily for them, most of their customers are loyal and local.
Overall, this place is pretty darn good. I’ve brought bagels from here to Philly on multiple occasions and have had friends begging me to bring more.

Long Island bagels are seriously not the same the past few years. I don’t know what happened! Did the water change?! The bagels here are pretty good. The coffee I made was not even lukewarm & that really annoys me when on a Saturday morning all I’m craving is a bagel & a hot, fresh cup of coffee. The best thing they have is their black & white cookies. They are simply amazing. I’m sure I’ll be back for more bagels & cookies but the spreads & coffee are not what they should be, especially for the prices.
