My husband and I have been going to Waltham Auto and Tire for 16+ years. The guys there are honest and reliable. Always have done a great job and I highly recommend them.

Honesty is priceless, I have been using the services of Waltham Auto & Tire for the past 15 plus years, there is no question of where I bring my vehicles for service, great people.

I’ve come to Waltham Auto & Tire a number of times the last couple of years that I’ve been living in the area. I don’t know much about cars, but every time I’ve had an issue they are able to explain everything clearly and give me a very fair price for the work. I usually just stop in, and the service is always very prompt. They have helped me with tires, oil changes, and check engine light issues. As long as I am in the Boston area, I will always take my car here.

I am so disappointed in this place. The highlights are that they took her car when they said hey would. The second is they did call and give an estimate. My daughter ended up needing rear rotors and 4 sets of brake pads. I felt the price was high but she was leaving town the next day so she had no choice. After she picked up her car, which was done when they said it would be, she started driving on 95 and the the turnpike. Her car was making a horrible noise. Her boyfriend felt that they must have not put the tire on right. She got off at the next exit and pulled into Target. She inspected her tires and on one of them she could turn the lug nuts with her fingers. I was livid and called them. The manager said they must have made a mistake!!! A mistake that could have killed her or another motorist. How do you not tighten lug nuts??? You have one job and the end of it is tighten the damn lug nuts. They sent someone to check all the tires and tighten them. She had to wait over a ½ hour in a parking lot by herself. I am so disappointed with this business as they came highly recommended. There is absolutely, positively no excuse for not double checking lug nuts.

Have now had two great experiences here. First was a low tire — was a fast and cheap fix about six months ago. Second one was today — I brought in my other car with a slow leak, they looked at it right away, diagnosed a bad valve stem and sent me on my way 10 minutes later with a fixed car and no charge for their service. I hope I don’t have any more tire issues, but if I do, I know where I’ll be going to get them fixed!

Great place, great service. I feel like I’ve found a truly exceptional, honest garage — a rarity in Boston.

My daughter goes to college in Waltham. She recently purchased a pre-​owned Toyota. She was told that the rear brake shoes could be a little thin and needed to be replaced. We called around and decided to take the car to this shop because their estimate was more reasonable than other shops. Couple hours later we got a call from Bill. We were told the brakes were just fine and needed no work. We got the car back without being charged a penny. An honest auto shop that treats its customers this way is an auto shop to keep.

I called WATS when I needed two tires for my daughters’ BMW and Bill told me they could get them faster and slightly less expensive than a large, regional tire chain that I have used in the past. The tires came in as promised and I was in and out of there with them balanced and installed in 45 minutes. It was nice to see that they use a torque wrench instead of an air gun. Bill uses few words but he did a great job in explaining about my new tires’ features.
I’m just learning about them but I would like to look into services that they can provide beyond tires. This seems to be one of those down to earth shops that do their job well and with proper care that it is done right.

I called the day of to see if an oil change was possible. They suggested I bring it in within the hour and said it would be fine for me to wait for it while they worked.
Then I decided to call them back and see if they’d also have time to check out a squeaking noise that had been causing me to curse at my car everytime I started her up. They said they’d make time and that they’d look into it.
It was my fault for driving by it a couple times. Their sign is on the smaller side so you just have to keep your eyes peeled when you’re arriving. But despite my idiocy, the man who answered the phone the multiple times I called, was gracious and super helpful.
When I arrived, they were prompt and immediately started on my car. In less than an hour, my oil was changed and my squeaking belt was resolved. Total was $ 50. I couldn’t have been happier with their service, and their expediency.

I have one of my tires fixed there and they charged much less than other workshops. They even offered free check’n’fix for my front plastic shield twice. Those guys are so nice– they care about you and your car and they always wear smiles. This made my day especially after I got pissed off by the rude mechanics at South St. Services (the one w/​o glasses was an idiot). I will definitely urge all my friends to have their cars fixed here!

Nobody wants to deal with a flat tire, but they made the ordeal painless. In and out in about a half hour. Hopefully I never have to go back to them again, but if I do they will be my first choice.

Robert, the mechanic we worked with, is as honest and dilligent a guy as you will find in the business. We brought our Lexus RX350 in to get the bumper repaired following a minor rear-​ending. Robert met us there at 7:45 (before they open) and stayed late the date we picked it up, all just to accomodate our work schedules. The paint/​sanding job looks perfect, and their price was approximately 50% less than the two places the Lexus dealership recommended that we call. You won’t be disappointed with this place… (I didn’t use the pool table, but if they had kept me waiting (which they didn’t), I would have!).

They saved $ 1700 for me. Bill is so knowledgeable and his free test and advice helped me from a disastrous cost. I highly recommend them. Mike just found that one connection was unplugged. However two other auto shop gave me nothing but headache.

Woke up to the sound not of pouring rain, but of Monday morning. You can see where this is going. Walked out of my house to find a surprise from the Monday Morning Fairy — a flat tire! Hurray!
I work in Waltham, and needed to get this flatty fixed ASAP, so I googled «tire fix Waltham, MA» and Waltham Auto & Tire Service came up. Since I know 0% of what I should know about cars or how to judge a good shop, I ventured out on a limb and trusted Unilocal to lead me not into screw-​dation, hoping these guys (and gals, if there were any) would be as nice and honest as they are here described to be.
Spoiler alert: they are!
Called the minute they opened, the guy on the phone was super nice and said «Bring it over whenever!» So off I went, thinking I’d be there all day and might get to skip the mid-​Monday morning staff meeting at work.
The gentleman who helped me (I didn’t catch his name, but he had a sort of Elvis thing going on with his hair… super nice guy) told me it would be about 15 minutes. (Boo. I mean yay! But boo. Looks like I’m making that staff meeting after all.) He came out a few minutes later to show me the damage my 0%-knowing-of-car-stuff-self had done to my tire, and seemed embarrassed for me: I was, in fact, going to have to purchase a new one. So I waited for the sales pitch, and silently cursed Unilocal («Liars!) and expected the price tag of my new tire to be in the vicinity of $ 1 million dollars (give or take), and be swindled into a slew of other services as well.
The guy crunched some numbers behind the counter, and told me that with the tire, the air, the spinning thing they do with it and the bonus air for my sad little donut, plus his time, I’d be out of there for around $ 80. What? Word! Done! Let’s do this! …But can you take your time? I really don’t want to go to that staff meeting…
15 minutes of chatting with the friendly staff later, it cost me $ 73 (single dollars, not millions of them), and he casually mentioned without salesguy pressuring me that I needed an oil change.
So. I’m a believer. Thanks, Waltham Auto & Tire Service. See you Wednesday for that oil change.

With Getting a new car you want to make sure you find a place with good service. I got my car down in Norwell so I was looking for a place close by to where I lived in Watertown. A friend recommended Waltham Tire. I brought my car in and Bill was great. I would definatly recommend this place.

Thought I needed a new tire but $ 15 later I was back on the road. Trustworthy, friendly & affordable. Great place.

No one plans on having a flat tire… that being said, even fewer people plan on having a flat tire for a reason that no one can figure out!
My dealership could not get me in for almost a week, and since I couldn’t drive the car on the spare until then I looked for a local place that could hopefully help me out in the meantime — I found Waltham Auto & Tire Service on Unilocal,and decided to give them a call. I explained the strange situation surrounding my flat to Bill and he said to bring it right in, and he’d be happy to take a look at it right away. Within the hour, he had the tire taken apart, found the tricky problem, and even had a solution (and an EXTREMELY affordable one at that!). When we realized the same problem was happening to the rest of my tires, I thought it’d have to be covered my car’s warranty, and made plans to get the rest of the tires fixed at the dealership to have it covered.
Long story short, the dealership said none of the work would be covered by the warranty, that they couldn’t do the work for another week, and that it’d be about 8X what Bill charged me. Needless to say, I was back at Waltham Auto & Tire within the hour to have the rest fixed by Bill. He happily took care of it in no time.
Can’t say enough about the great group of guys here, honest, friendly and super speedy — how can you beat it? Their location is a bit difficult to see/​find — it’s behind another storefront, (a dry cleaners?) and adjacent to a JN Phillips Auto Glass. But trust me, it’ll be well worth the three seconds you spend trying to figure out where they are.

Bill (the head guy) is kind of an odd duck when compared to other mechanics I’ve met in the past in that he’s friendly, soft-​spoken, patient and honest. I have had 3 cars in the last 5 years that I’ve brought to Waltham Auto and I’ve never been disappointed.
Hope these guys are around for years to come. Great people.
