. Now a word about the store. I love fresh Portuguese sausages, sweet rolls, cheese rolls and dulce de leche candies. You’ll find all of this and more at via Latina. One of my favorite sodas is Guarana Brazilia and they’ve got it! If you’re a lover of Brazilian grocery items, meats and snacks, you don’t need to drive to Fall River or East Providence. Via Latina is conveniently located on Main Street and you can’t go wrong!

Via Latina is a Brazilian grocery and non-​Brazilian sandwich shop on Main Street in Waltham, a bit east of the main stretch of restaurants.
Ingredients for the subs are top notch, and the subs are large and well priced. The sandwich board lists a variety of creative combinations, including a good cubano. The most exciting one for me is called the North Ender, but is really a muffaletta. I love muffaletta but it is sadly hard to find even a bad one this far north of New Orleans. The muffaletta here is outstanding, with a family recipe for the olive salad that’s every bit as good as the one at Central Grocery in NOLA.
