Prime Management & Property

Are you yearning for a management company that will totally ignore any maintenance request, no matter how BIG? Well, brother, you have come to the right place with this despicable company.
We rented an expensive single family home through Prime, in a leafy «town that starts with W», west of Boston.
We called early on in the rental because there was a problem with the garage doors opening and closing correctly. They never did a thing. In fact, half way through the winter I wound up replacing a part in one of the motors myself after looking up the problem on YouTube and ordering the part from Amazon, which fixed the problem. I never even deducted the cost from my rent, because I am not petty about such things, however in retrospect, I think I should have done that.
So thanks to me at, least there was one functioning garage door.
The old and decrepit washing machine leaked from the get go. I notified Prime immediately, but was told that was my responsibility.
The light over the stove stopped working after a month or so into the lease. It was not the bulb as I tried that. I notified Prime but they never did anything about it, so I spent the rest of my lease cooking over a dark stove.
About half of the windows lacked screens and about ¹⁄₃ lacked storm windows. I did put that plastic window insulator «cling wrap» over the windows that did not have storm windows, but not sure how effective that is. Needless to say, the oil bills were close to $ 1,000/mo during the winter. All of the windows had years of dirt and pollen filling the sashes. Just saying.
We were responsible for all mowing and snow removal. I’m sort of glad about that because I can only imagine how hard it would have been like to get them out to do any of those things.
During the last couple of months of the lease, they must have showed the place at least 15 times. I asked for 24 hours notification but they said that was not in the lease. I asked for a heads up — and they did a couple times, but more often than not they would just show up with potential renters and just WALK RIGHT IN, without ringing the bell. No advance notice, just walked right in like no one was LIVING there. I called the office to complain but was told that they would not do that. Ok, maybe not in the parallel reality universe, but in my universe, this was their normal practice. And it was not real estate agents showing the place, it was the Prime Management itself.
I would recommend that you do not rent from Prime. And if you are a property owner, unless you are interested in being a slumlord by proxy, find a company that takes pride in its work. I think that’s enough writing for one sitting. I have more. If you want more details you can message me.
It was such a strange and wonderful relief to move into my new place and find that my landlord was apologizing for a barely visible layer of pollen on the deck, and finding I had unlimited access to new high end non-​coin op washer and dryer. Oh and all the windows have screens!

I have to agree with the other comments. I live in a property managed by this group and it is extraordinarily difficult to get in touch with them including in maintenance emergency situations. They are very unresponsive and unhelpful in almost all situations.

Either take weeks to respond to emails or simply don’t respond at all. Issues reported are ignored or given the run around. Would NEVER recommend this management company to anyone.
