History

Established in 1998.

MJ’s Music School began with Molly Jo and Chris Rivelli providing private voice and piano lessons in their home. As schedules filled, other teachers were brought in. In 2006 an expansion was necessary, and MJ’s Music moved to it’s present commercial space at 885 Main St in Waltham. The location on Route 20 is close to major highways, and neighboring towns like Weston, Newton, Watertown, Lexington, and Lincoln. The convenient location has plenty of parking, a comfortable waiting room, and 7 teaching studios outfitted for the highest caliber of music learning.

Business Owner

M.M., Vocal Performance, Arizona State University. B.A., Magna cum Laude, Whitworth College, Music Education, emphasis in Choral Conducting and Piano. Certified public school music teacher K-​12. Founder and Owner of MJ’s Music School. Voice, Piano and General Music teacher and private instructor for over 20 years. Former instructor at Eliot Montessori, Centre Music, and Northwood Jr. & Sr. High (Washington State). Active soloist for Boston Lyric Opera, Raylynmor Opera, Granite State Opera, Wellesley Choral Society, Scituate Choral Society, Waltham Symphony, Oregon Coast Music Festival, and Opera Providence. Private vocal studies with Arthur Levy, Andrea DelGiudice, Carol Vaness and Maria Spacagna. Specialized studies in Kodaly and Orff methods of music education. Particularly interested in working with students with disabilities and children on the autism spectrum. Active church vocalist, Youth Choir Director at Payson Park Church in Belmont, pianist, and choral conductor
