If you are a vegetarian completely avoid this place, as they have same menu all the time .food was not all good very disappointed.

Visited again. Food was good and fresh, they apologized for what happened. And, I gave 3 stars because the taste is pretty average for Hyderabadi food in general.

This isn’t a great restaurant for those who know what Hyderabadi food tastes like. Only the biryani is reasonably good, however if you go for a buffet, the chicken biryani doesn’t have any chicken, the rice is hardened after keeping it warm for an hour, wouldn’t recommend it to authentic Indian food lovers.

Less than average, stale, and overpriced food. $ 3 for a naan at an essentially fast food place!

Me and my husband exclusively went to this place for Haleem. I am a die hard fan of Haleem and after reading the reviews online i had high expectation but I must say I was quite disappointed with the taste and quality. When the serving person asked us about the taste… We gave him our honest opinion saying we didnt like it. So then he said us that Haleem was prepared and frozen. Apart from that there was only one guys serving in the whole place which was quite time consuming.

By far, the worst indian food I’ve ever had in my life. The food was very bland. The tikka masala was so boring, no spices in it. They made it spicy, but not spiced. I was so disappointed, my brain is wired to expect a certain flavor when I eat Indian. This was missing all flavor. The naan was OK I guess. The samosas were horrible. The meat in them was totally dry and the crust was super dry and flaky. I’ll definitely never be ordering from them again. I didn’t even know it was possible to make Indian food this bad.
The reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is because, while it was bland, it was still edible. I was still able to finish my meal (except for the samosas. Those were horrible). Granted, I ate when absolutely starving. They say hunger is the best spice, in this situation it was the only spice.

Food is quite good, and good sized portions at a very reasonable cost. The service is pretty horrific at times (we have sat 10 – 15 minutes before waiter comes back to take our order– and being the only people in the dining room. Have ordered food ahead of time and have to wait way too long for it to be ready (they say ready in 20 minutes– we come in 25 minutes and have to wait 15 more minutes). But they were very helpful when we got a catering order for a party and that went off with no problems. It is close to where we live and we will be back when craving this type of food.

Food was good… although I didn’t get any. Only everyone else in my office did.
I placed the order the day before to be ready by noon. My coworker went to get it and they kept telling him 5 more minutes… that lasted an hour! Then we took the food out at work and nothing was labeled so we spent 30 minutes trying to figure out what was what. We found that 1 thing was missing and one of the sides was wrong. I called the restaurant and the man said it was not ordered. I know exactly what I ordered because I made a spreadsheet. He read the order back to me and I highlighted as he read.
We called and he wouldn’t budge… saying we weren’t ordered/​charged for that and now we find out that he did charge us for the missing item!!! Now I have no lunch because I gave mine to the guy who didn’t get his lunch. What crap!
None of us want to ever go there again! And we never will!
They are now avoiding our calls! NEVER GO THERE!

Have been trying to find an awesome Indian food restaurant in Waltham and so far most places had been good but not great. We tried Kabab & Tandoor in their new location and their food did not disappoint. The Saffron Chicken was delicious and the Aaloo Gobi was the best I had ever had. We ordered another chicken kabab dish whose name I can’t exactly remember (Mali Kabab?) which was good and though less exciting than the others, could be a good option for anyone trying to eat Paleo at an Indian restaurant. My son who is a picky eater just devoured their food. When we went there for dinner, it was not a weekend and not very crowded so perhaps that is why but we did not find the service slow and the waiter was constantly over checking on us and refilling our waters. We will definitely be back!

I bought Long Squash ($ 0.99), they charged me $ 1.99. They have two types of Squash with two different prices. I chose the one with $ 0.99. We hardly check the bills. I happen to check. Pissed off?

Kadai Paneer is my fav. I find the food flavors at Kabab n Tandoor closest to the authentic Indian food. Order your entrée curry with Paratha (bread) instead of rice.
Parathas here are huge and tastes awesome.
The service for dine is the slowest I have ever seen. So I would not recommend an eat in dinner. I usually do take outs.
Also it has one of the best Faloodas. Order Pista Falooda. (basically a thick shake with some sweet thin noodles in it).

Head down into the basement of the Indian Market and a mini food court appears.
There are a few places to pick from who serve Indian and Middle Eastern food from steam tables or get a smoothie.
The outside sign on the sidewalk advertised Vegan Dosa but it wasn’t really clear from which place I could order it from. Given I had already called and place my order I didn’t bother to ask.
Kabab & Tandoor has a separate entrance to their restaurant to the left. The dining room appeared really dark and there was only one party having dinner.
I ordered take out so my review is on the food.
When calling the person on the phone answered all my questions and steered me to dishes without meat, dairy or egg to meet my Vegan diet.
For apps
Vegetable cutlets — Mashed potato with peas, corn and carrots which appeared to be dipped into something to hold the shape then pan fried. I thought they were OK but Mr. G passed.
The Mirchi Pakoras were hot peppers filled with chutney (didn’t see any) dipped in a chickpea batter and pan fried. The batter was extremely thick and rubbery and also another we’d pass on.
Two Vegetable Spring rolls the size of egg rolls came with a hot mint sauce. These were crispy with a nice crunch but a bit greasy. The sauce smelled sweet but wasn’t and brought a spicy bite that rounded out the taste. I would get these again.
Mr. G got the Chhole — Chick peas with tomatoes, potatoes, and spices. Looked OK but overall he wasn’t thrilled.
I had a really yummy Aaloo Gobi at the Dosa Temple in Ashland so I thought I would try this dish. This entrée had big pieces of cauliflower and a few potatoes but not a lot of sauce. We got two sides of rice which surprisingly were cold right out of the storage frig. We got home and heated up the rice and then added the dishes and heated them again.
Overall the food was edible but I don’t think memorable enough to go back.

So, we went back, after having given 4 stars before, enjoying the food but not liking the service. Seems the poor service is not a fluke. There was only one other couple in the place and the service was so slow it was terrible. After our appetizer took 25 minutes (and the waiter had forgotten we ordered it!) we told the waiter we needed to get to a movie so didn’t care about waiting after getting the appetizer to get the main courses, to just bring it as soon as it was done. The waiter barely said two words to us and was not friendly at all. He even stayed in the kitchen most of the time. It honestly felt like he didn’t want to talk to us, or wait on us.
The food was ok, not as good as I’d remembered though.
I don’t think we’ll go back because it was so slow and we were treated poorly.

I told the waiter our food was good but… I partially lied to be nice.
I won’t be coming back.
I took a friend here for dinner. He chose the restaurant. I hope he doesn’t read this because he thinks I liked it.
We walked in and it was completely dead, no one in there except the Greeter/​Host/​Waiter/​Bus Boy (all the same bored young man) and the very loud staff in the back who verbally fought loudly at least twice.
No condiments except this very spicy Indian barbecue sauce. I kid you not and it wasn’t bad but I would much rather have Onion Chutney given the choice.
The Garlic Na’an was burnt. Need I say more?
Please do not go here. There are so MANY great restaurants in Waltham. I beg you CHOOSE ANOTHER INSTEAD!

No liquor license, so we left for New Mother India across the street. 10 minutes to get water and another 5 minutes after that to get a menu. As others have said, looks like just one waiter (in raggedy jeans) to serve the entire restaurant.

You walk into the Waltham India Market. It looks like, well, an ethnic grocery store. Bright lights. Tall metal racks. Clean and organized but somehow feels run down anyway… and then there are these stairs. These wood and granite stairs that lead down to shiny wood floors and a food court. You head down but you’re not done yet… there’s a glass wall filled with water falling and a glass door leading you into a chic urban paradise: dimly lit, water features, comfortable seating, spacious feel.
Our waiter was charming and my glass was always full. Always. Even after we paid the bill (which we used a
certificate towards).
The food was good. We started with Mirchi Pakoras (hot peppers stuffed, battered, and fried); these were good but not amazing. For our entrée we shared 3 dishes: Bagaray Baigan (curried eggplant), Aloo Gobi (potatoes & cauliflower) and Chicken 65 (fried chicken cubes in a red curry/​yogurt sauce). I really liked the curry with the Bagary Baigan but I found the other two dishes to be good, but less flavorful than similar dishes at other Indian places.
It’s worth mentioning that this is a Halal Indian place and in Hyperbadi style so the variety is going to be a little different and the choices sometimes a bit more unique.
And, once more, the service was spot on and the atmosphere is devine.

So a friend of mine took me to this place for a Sunday Buffet. So the rest is actually under a Indian store called India market in the basement
The rest is upscally sort of pesented with nice little waterfall at entrance and white chairs to offset the dark ambience fell.
So the service sucks pretty much with a wierdo girl working there.
Food was ok. There were three chicken dishes which were great as is with Indian rest mostly chicken dishes are always good. Veggies dishes were three but I only tried palace PANEER which was btw orange for most part and it was the worst palace PANEER I ever tried in my life. For appetizers there were samosas which were emptied out for all duration we were there. There were no tamarind or green chutney for samosas or potato fritters nor any onion chutney. There were veggie pulao rice and chicken Biryani and two desserts
The chicken dishes were dum methi and saffron chicken with dry tandoori chicken which were all great specially the dum methi chicken considering I hate bone in chicken thus was actually good. Naan was good too
I thought it was ok since not everything was good. Def take palace PANEER off the menu … It is ridiculously bad

K&T is no longer on Main Street, they moved into that new huge Waltham India Grocery on Moody Street.
Having grown up in a fairly desi neighborhood means that despite my gora status, I can taste authentic Indian cuisine with a little self-​assured tenacity. I didn’t think the food here was wow material, but it wasn’t bad enough that I couldn’t finish the plate.
The chicken biryani was decent, but at times a little too heavy on the seasoning, and a little too light on the chicken. The Saffron Chicken was much better, seasoned well and a good amount of chicken. The pakoras and the naan were the best parts of the meal here though.
Overall, I think it is a little pricy for dinner, but until I check out other places in Waltham, I wouldn’t rule them out entirely for my next lunch on Moody.

Decent lunch buffet and a nice change of pace with some atypical offerings being Hyderabadi Indian cuisine. I especially liked their Aloo Palaak — less creamy texture with a firm, spicy kick. The Chicken Korma was solid though a bit on the bland side and the other two chicken dishes were literally swimming in reddish oil.
As for naan, they did have a slightly different version than most Indian restaurants… that sucked. It’s not made fresh, so it sits there in the tray and rapidly dries out. The papadum redeemed the naan thankfully — homemade and freshly fried. As for the price, it’s not the best deal at $ 9.99 and the offerings overall don’t quite stack up to the better spots in Boston. Locally, however, it gets by well enough.

The only reason I am not giving more than 2 stars is that most of the food that we’ve tried tonight are dry. I certainly don’t know much about Indian food and am not a fan of yogurt/​cream. I will try every ethnic food at least once tho! This is different from other Indian restaurants that I’ve tried.
It’s definitely very spicy. Perhaps, it’s suppose to be. I like to eat spicy but not when it’s overpowering other flavors.
I always pictured kababs as on skewers; but none of the kababs ordered are on skewers. I was so looking foward to eating off a skewer!
After eating the first minute, I can understand why every table has a pitcher of water. I don’t think I can eat the food here without at least 3 helpings of water. First, to wash the food down since it’s so dry. Second, clean the palette from the spice.
The food here is wierd or shall I say — interesting in taste and texture.
