I cannot, and will not, ever be able to adequately express how great Descar Jewelry is. I have a very old ring that was my mother’s and it has need repair on and off throughout the 11 years I have had it. It is extremely sentimental to me. It recently became apparent that the ring was just too old and very fragile for everyday wear. Debbie explained to me that the ring could be remade to look exactly like the original ring. I must admit I was skeptical, but totally trust anything Debbie would suggest so I went for it. I just picked up the ring and it is AMAZING. Everyone there understood how much the ring means to me and the were all there to celebrate with me when I picked it up. Descar not only does amazing work on jewelry they have incredible customer services. I cannot thank you enough Debbie, Stephanie and Jenna for understanding and sharing in my excitement about my ring! YOU ROCK!

I dropped off items to be repaired and was told one of the items would be no charge as they were redoing a previous delicate repair that didn’t take the first time. I was given a receipt showing no charge for the item and $ 12 for the other item.
When I went to pick up the items I was charged $ 48. I checked my drop off receipt to confirm what the cost should have been and called them. I was not treated with respect or any understanding. I was basically told I didn’t know what I was talking about. When I told them I felt I was being ripped off I was again told I didn’t know what I was talking about.
They do beautiful work, but make sure you know how much it’s going to cost you before you do business with them.

I haven’t purchased any jewelry from Descar (although they have nice items on display), but it has become my go-​to place for watch battery replacement. After trying a bunch of other places, I’ve finally found a place that’s professional, efficient, and fairly priced. They are always friendly and their procedures make me feel like they won’t lose my watches (they take pictures of what you bring in and give you a copy). They usually can’t replace the battery immediately (that may be because I usually go in on a Saturday), but it’s only a couple of days before the watches are ready & I don’t mind waiting.

I went to Descar because it’s within walking distance of my work. I needed to have a ring repaired (new prongs), the quote I got was over $ 100 and when I told the woman I was surprised it was so high she said «well … the price of gold is going up». Are you kidding me??? Gold prices are not what they used to be — they are much lower. I left and took my ring to a jeweler in Needham who repaired it for $ 50, and did a really job.

I bought my fiancé’s engagement ring at DesCar. What an excellent experience!!! Everyone there was very attentive and willing to help every step of the way. Their knowledge of the materials and the diamond market itself was astonishing. Not to mention the patience that everyone had while I picked it out. They walked me through every step and I am positive I couldn’t have gotten a better deal anywhere else! Bottom line, I won’t go anywhere else for jewelry now. DesCar is the BEST!

My fiancé bought my engagement ring at Descar Jewlery Design in Waltham and I couldn’t be happier with my ring! I absolutely love it and I appreciate the help and expertise that the staff at Descar gave my fiancé to help him pick out the best ring in the world! We will be back to purchase a wedding band from them. Highly recommend them!

I had a diamond ring that I needed to sell and they gave me advice on how to go about doing so and offered some great suggestions. They also offered to have the stone removed so I could send it to GIA for certification. I didn’t spend a dime on that visit (was my first visit) and they never gave me attitude or made me feel weird about getting free advice without spending money. They were friendly and a pleasure to do business with.
I came back to have pearls restrung and a ring repaired and they did an excellent job and charged very reasonable prices.
I am very impressed with Descar. They understand customer service.

My family has been shopping here for quite some time. My sister and brother-​in-​law bought their wedding rings from the fine folks at Descar. I was in a couple days ago to pick up a watch and an old ring that I had polished and repaired. I lost the ring’s box long ago so it’s bounced around with some miscellaneous pieces of jewelry over the years. The gold had lost its luster and it was really beat up. When I picked it up I was surprised that it looks brand new (pictured).
The watch also had seen better days and now looks absolutely mint. I’ve purchased two watches from Descar (the one I had repaired wasn’t one of them), a Citizen Eco Drive back in 2003 and a Bulova in 2011. I also purchased a 14kt yellow gold rope chain for myself, and a 14kt yellow gold chain to replace my father’s cross’ chain after it broke.
Last year I bought an Add-​a-​Pearl for my goddaughter (pictured). So far it has two pearls, and I plan to add one on her birthdays and at Christmas until it’s full.
I love the fact that they offer a wish list, so you can «window shop» and have a record of items you like for later or for potential gift-​buyers. As someone mentioned, they revamped the store and have a large Pandora section if that’s up your alley.
All of the purchases I mentioned, as well as many more, wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for the kind and considerate staff there. Everyone bends over backward to make sure that you’re satisfied and everything is ‘just right’, and the atmosphere is really pleasant and friendly, especially when compared to a few obvious ’boutiques’ where the staff treats you like a vagrant unless walk in with an Amex Black Card.

I stopped by here twice to get the batteries replaced for 2 watches. Each time the front receptionist and jeweler were friendly, and did not judge me by my «high school/​college-​girl» looks. Equally, they were also nice to some of the middle-​aged to older-​aged women, and couples who were browsing there.

One of my friend recommend me this place. I never repair my jewelry so i decided listen her advice.
I can’t say anything good or bad about stuff because one of my friend drop necklace to store. the price he told me was law like $ 20. but when i got my necklace i understand why it’s so cheap. Work was made really unprofessional. When i called to find out about job they did, first i was on hold like for 10 min. After i got a chance to talk with one of the representative who was really mean with me and was saying so many bad things about my necklace: that it’s too thin and that i can’t hang anything on it which is doesn’t seems correct for me because i use to wear it for like a year and my small nephew was trying to take it out with force so many times and nothing happened.
I’m really upset with their service never go back

This is my favorite place to shop for fine jewelry. I trust the staff who are always friendly and accomodating. They can customize many peices.
If you like pandora they recently expanded the space and have a hUGE selection.
I just dropped 1 star for lack of selection… most of the peices are pretty traditional and i’d like to see more if a range. however, I’ve had no problem finding things i want!
They also offer a wishlist service which is great b/​c you can choose whatever you like and its easy for friends and family to shop for you there.

this store USED to be the one and only jewelry place I would shop outside of Boston, but not anymore! When my husband and I were shopping for wedding rings we were looking for platinum (my engagement ring is platinum) I asked the sales girl to show me platinum rings and she responded «you shouldn’t buy platinum its very expensive, you probably can’t afford it!» I was horrfied she would say something like that to me or anyone else so I told her I would not be purchasing anything today and left.
My husband thinking he was being nice picked up a pre-​xmas gift for me at Descar, the sales girl talked him into the «pandora jewelry» which I HATE. I took it back the day after he bought it. They were rude and enjoyed telling me they will only give me store credit (horrendous policy for a jewelry store). I traded my aunt for a gift certificate for Tiffanys, I will NEVER shop there again. Tacky, poor service, and poor selection.
