Courtyard by Marriott

I was expecting to stay in a suite that was as wide as it was long. The configuration of our room was disappointing. On the plus side, beds are comfy, the bathroom is clean, there’s a fridge, free wifi, minimal noise from the highway (at least from the perspective of the 5^th floor), and the tv faces the bed — thankfully. I can’t imagine contorting myself to watch the football games tonight. Above all, the service is warm and friendly. While it’s disappointing that there aren’t any eateries within close proximity (walking) to the hotel, there are lots of places to choose from nearby, especially on Moody Street. I think this will be a place we will return to again.

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott in Waltham when traveling to the Boston area. The hotel is located in a business district with other hotels and many companies in the complex.
We checked in around 6pm and the staff was very helpful. We had been walking around freezing Boston all day so the first thing we did was jump in the hot tub which felt amazing. The hotel is right off of the highway so we were able to Unilocal different places to go to from there for dinner. Our room was very clean and comfortable and although I didn’t use it, the gym looked great! I would definitely recommend staying here if you’re in the Boston area.

This is a hotel packed into a little cluster of hotels right off Rt. ¹²⁸⁄₉₅. Very central, if you are willing to stay outside of Boston.
Really it’s a 3 star hotel. Not fancy, not shady. Clean, serviceable, updated (but not stylish or swanky). Great functional hotel for about $ 100/​night.
But the service the last time I stayed was beyond excellent. When you arrive in 2AM, and your greeting is cheerful, rather than surly, that’s a win. And it continued through my stay. They were helpful, and informative rather than bored or disengaged.
Definitely worth another star.
The only thing that might make you raise an eyebrow is the layout of the bed. As you walk in the room, it is down the hall, hidden on the left. It’s a bit of an odd layout. Not really a huge deal — the bed is still nice — but you do notice it. You can see it in the pic of the room.

Wow! I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of this hotel. I travel a lot and am continually disappointed by hotels. Yes, I’m very picky. I stayed on the 3^rd floor of the new wing and my room was totally perfect. Great size, layout, fixtures. Nice bed and bathroom. Just really great. The staff was nice as well. very helpful, knowledgeable, and not intrusive. The only quibble I have, and this is minor, would be that the new café needs to iron out a few kinks to offer smoother service.

Great hotel, awesome place to stay near town. Pool was closed early so that was kind of a bummer. We were told that it was open until 11.

The Courtyard by Marriott in Walham was recently remodeled and was bright, modernly decorated and very nice throughout. The lobby featured a small café and lots of seating for meeting with friends or reading the newspaper. Free wi-​fi was available throughout the hotel. Parking was also free.
The location of the hotel was great because it was only five minutes from Dassault Systèmes headquarters where I was attending a training. It was close enough that I probably could have walked if the weather had been warmer.
I’m was very satisfied with my stay and would recommend this hotel if you need to stay in Waltham. One note, besides the café at the Marriott there were no restaurant options within walking distance that I noticed. There were many restaurants within a short drive though.

We set up a block of rooms for our wedding at the Lyman Estate, and I’m so glad we used the Courtyard. Working with Lisa was great. She was always quick to respond, and she was great about making sure we had enough rooms available even though our wedding was the weekend of The Head of the Charles. Plus, each night there was a bottle of wine and breakfast vouchers waiting for my husband and me. So thoughtful!
The hotel has a lovely new lobby that is clean and modern, just like the rooms are. My guests were incredibly comfortable and really enjoyed their stays. Rooms have k-​cups, comfortable beds, fridges, and just a really comfortable set up. The restaurant downstairs does not offer lunch, but the coffee and breakfast items were great, and there are great choices for food close by. Also, the front desk staff was just so nice. They were really sweet to my Southerm, talkative parents, and I really appreciated how thoughtful they were.
We were very happy to have chosen the Courtyard for our wedding guests and would recommend it.

Stayed here for a business trip. Nothing great but nothing alarming. If you have to go the Waltham, this is the best as it gets. Other Courtyards I’ve stayed in were at a much higher standard. So I was a little disappointed.
The TV was positioned oddly when viewing from your bed.

I like this place, I have heard road noise complaints from coworkers but the 5^th floor is great!
The bed is firm but comfortable, pillows aren’t as soft as I like. Detergent is too harsh for sensitive skin types. Blackout curtains are good, heating is great, lovely constant gentle white noise versus turning on and off all night.
The hair dryer is amazing! I normally byo, but forgot, I was a bit terrified but my hair looks better here than it does at home.
Hot breakfast is available onsite, quality is ok because nothing is made fresh, it is heated up in a Starbucks style oven.
The onsite gym is workable too, free weights, a bench, some ab balls, a life fitness all in one machine and a couple treadmills.
There is a pool, hottub, and a hotel bar with a few dinner choices. Two other options within walking distance.

About 20+ of us stayed here for my best friends wedding. From our arrival, to our checkout, we had an amazing experience with the staff. We arrived at the hotel around 8 in the morning and they were awesome with letting us ALL check-​in at that time. We also pretty much took over their lobby every single night we were there til about 4 – 5 in the morning and they were so accommodating! We even did a traditional Armenian ‘Hars Haktsenel” (bride getting ready) and again they were more than happy to let us do this downstairs in their lobby with an added 20 or so people to our 20+! The rooms were nice and always clean, the beds were comfy, we loved the Keurig in our rooms and the FREE wi-​fi. We ate a couple times at the Tavern across the street that had yummy food that they recommended for us. Honestly the only criticism I have is that they should fix the fire pit, the guy at the front desk late at nights (Bryan?) was nice enough to spend some time out there to try and figure it out for us. He was great for good conversation and just all around kindness!

I went to Boston during this past Labor Day weekend with my friend from California. This hotel is located in Waltham which is only 20 minutes away from downton Boston. Really good location. The staffs are extremely friendly and professional. Special thanks to Katherine and Ken. They’re terrific! The room with king bed and a sofa bed was very nice and clean. The hotel was newly renovated. K cup machine inside the room. Free wifi. We enjoyed our stay there! Highly recommended.

The «bar» closes at 10pm even on Saturdays, and is generally unattended during the day/​evening. Pool and spa are small and uncomfortable. Elevators are excluded from any sort of air circulation, let alone air conditioning. The room was okay but housekeeping cleaned us out before we even checked out, despite the Do Not Disturb sign which was in place. We had coffee and juice which was *purchased* from the «bar» downstairs… thrown out because they assumed we were gone. Again, we hadn’t even checked out yet.
This hotel was surprisingly disappointing. I will not be spending the money to stay here again. Not worth it AT ALL. For the price, I would have expected at least a complementary breakfast. NOPE!

The Weird Things
It’s located at an incredible poorly designed intersection that asks you to make a hairpin U-​Turn in order to enter the parking lot
The TV in the sleeping room is located on a desk on the SIDE of the bed. If you want to watch TV in bed you had better be a circus contortionist –lie down on your side, raise your head and watch TV until you get dizzy.

The staff here is so great every time I stay here. I am a frequent traveler and choose to stay here each time I am up there. The staff at the restaurant goes out of their way no matter how late you get there! :). Rooms are nice and under building parking is always great when it’s snowing!

Stayed here for a business trip. My boss picked it, but it ended up being a nice hotel that I would go back to. We ate right down the street. Nice breakfast area

Staying here over thanksgiving holiday for 4 nights. Really nice rooms, and most importantly they are clean!
Bed is also very comfortable, room comes with flat screen, although the channel selection is a tad bit limited, small loves eat that folds out to sleep 2ppl, and a desk and chair.
Free wifi is a nice touch!
Paid $ 79 per night which I felt was a great value!
Front desk staff very friendly as well, will definitely stay here again.

There are quite a few hotel options in Waltham these days, but I must say that this Coutyard is your best option (even better than the Westin across the street).
Even though the building is less than a few years old, they are still making major improvements. On my last visit (Jan 2011) they were remodeling the lobby and already upgraded the gym to include brand new workout machines.
The rooms aren’t «wired for business» yet, but they have very nice 40+” TVs in the room that have hook-​ups for everything you might need (HDMI, Component, VGA, etc.). The internet speeds are also very good, I was able to stream video at over 1Mb throughout my stay.
If you are traveling for business in the Norther Boston area, this is the place to stay.

Typical Courtyard Marriott. Adequate place to sleep on a business trip. Not much else really. I find Courtyards to be pricey for what you get, but it’s like a McDonald’s — you know what you’re going to get. In this case, older CRT TV with a remote that can only scroll down channels, noisy AC unit, noisy refrigerator (until I unplugged it so I can get some sleep), location by the freeway. ’nuff said.

For a business trip, this place is great, but for a luxurious or romantic getaway, you’ll want to try somewhere else. They cover all the basics and do them well, but it’s decidedly no-​frills.
The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-​designed. It was built in the early 2000s so it’s a little more up-​to-​date than other Courtyards. They have a fitness center with a few treadmills, a bike, free weights, and an all-​purpose weight machine. The pool is small, but good enough for short laps or if you’re bringing your kids. They have free wired Internet in all rooms and wireless in the lobby that you can pick up if you’re on one of the lower floors.
There’s no room service and there’s only one restaurant (Piccadilly Pub) within walking distance so you’ll either have to drive somewhere or rely on the Takeout Taxi service advertised in the room.
Be sure to stop by the bar in the lobby and unwind by the fireplace. The bartender — Tina — will hook you up with some good restaurant recommendations and a few raunchy jokes.

A new Courtyard in this area, so are the interiors. This hotel lobby area is nice and fresh with a cute full bar for you to relax with a drink or two. Since this place is close to a lot of business/​industrial parks, the hotel is full of business attired men/​women.
Price is still out of my league again, but I think it’s a bit more expensive than the previous one I stayed. Everything seems to be much better than the previous one at the very beginning.
Disappointed, disappointed, disappointed…
1. The pillows couldn’t support my neck at all. I couldn’t sleep too well for two nights.
2. The road construction is going and going, dong-​dong, dong-​dong, dong-​dong~~ That’s why I am still awake to write this review.
3. The room is so cold that even I want to turn up the air-​con, it will still stay at 75 °F on the machine and I have to wear jacket in the room the whole time.
4. Internet is free, but it needs a cable to connect and the cable is so SHORT that I have to sit in front of the «desk» all the time when I am working on my computer.
5. Breakfast is NOT free. Even though I don’t really have time to enjoy, I am still not too happy with THE fact.
From all above, I will try some other near-​by Courtyard next time.
One thing I have learned from this: NEVER JUDGE A BOOK FROM ITS COVER. READ IT… BLAH
