Gourmet food at gourmet prices if you will. And you will, once you’re there. For example have you tried the B-Boy or the B-Boy MAXX? It is a grilled cheese but one half is egg-in-a-basket and if you add hot sauce they call it the B-Boy MAXX. Sexy right?! ??? If you are confused about any objects in Chum’s(i.e. chair, table, etc) most are labelled. Once went to a cool show there. My nachos got burned. But the staff was very nice(i.e. apologies, hugs, etc). If you go, ask for a Nicky C, Terror Shake and/or haircut. Great for dates or business meetings or play rehearsals or spelling bees. Reservations available. Phantogram, Tracy Chapman, and Genesis have all played this venue. Also newer artists like The Antlers, Twin Shadow, Yacht, Mt. Erie, Bearstronaut, Future Islands, and Evolfo Doofeht. Sometimes you go in and the staff is jamming out or having a dance party. There was a Soul Train dance party.

Make sure you check the academic calendar before you go. The coffee house might be closed if the students are on break. It’s located in a buidling that looks like a castle. This is the coffee house that inspired the TV show ‘Friends’. Brandeis is a Jewish university, so don’t be making any jokes about bagels. You probably want to check out a Brandeis University parking map, and a campus map.

Technically anyone can go, but it’s pretty much only Brandeis students except for the occasional outside visitors who venture out for a particular show, especially since there’s no easy visitor parking on campus or any kind of indication where it is. You can go here: to find out what shows are playing, but for the most part events are advertised on campus or by your friends awkwardly pressuring you into going to their group’s show. Sometimes actual people perform, like Girl Talk, but mostly it’s one of the 150 or so(jk…kinda) Brandeis improv groups. Lizzy’s ice cream ftw. Also, cash only.
