Advanced Auto Repairs

Came here for my car inspection last year and did a walk-​in. They took me immediately and I was in and out of there in under twenty minutes. The price was standardized and I saw them check everything, they were legit. Guy wasn’t particularly friendly but was efficient. No complaints.

These guys charged me $ 50 for an oil change and fluid top off. A little pricey… come to find a few months later that they never put the oil refill cap back on. When I called them to ask if they still had it lying around I was put on hold for about 15 minutes. Nobody ever came back on the line so I called back and left a message to please return my call… never got a call back. The replacement part from the dealer was only about $ 15 but you’d expect better service after such a hefty price tag. Wouldn’t recommend these guys.

I went here for a state inspection that was quoted over the phone as only taking 10 – 15 minutes. After about 10 minutes, they said I just needed to replace a headlight and taillight and I’d be good to go. Fine.
30 minutes pass and they then tell me that my car is built in such a way that it takes longer to replace the taillight. They waited 30 minutes to tell me this, and then said it would be another hour before they could replace my taillight. I’m no mechanic and I gave them the benefit of the doubt.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t wait any longer for the repairs (lunch break from work), and they gave me the updated sticker despite not being able to change my taillight. If this is where the story ended, I would have given them four stars for being apologetic and still giving me a new sticker (despite taking a lot longer than they initially said).
I’m giving this business a 1 star review because when I started driving, I realized that my blinker was malfunctioning. They not only took forever and didn’t communicate with me, but managed to screw up my otherwise perfectly functioning car! Now I have to go to my car dealer to fix my blinker and whatever else they might have broke…
This is unacceptable and I highly recommend going elsewhere.

I went here for my state inspection. My car passed with no problems but they told me I needed $ 800 worth of repairs PLUS more for an issue he would have to «take the front apart» to diagnose. I refused further repairs at that time and took my car elsewhere for a second (and third) opinion. The other places told me that there was only one minor issue with my car that costs $ 140 to fix. I really think Advanced was trying to rip me off. I will never go back.
