Sophie’s Wags To Whiskers

Came here for the first time to take my 2 kittens that I just adopted. I found a lot of fleas and eggs after giving them a bath! Freaked out, I went ahead and found Sophie’s to be closest to my home. Headed on over to have them bathed and have the fleas/​eggs removed. Walked in and it smelled like a «home sweet home», very welcoming atmosphere! Was checked-​in by a nice young lady at the front desk, told her one of the kittens is infested with a bunch of fleas and eggs and must be removed immediately!
About 5hrs later they were ready for pick-​up. Yay!
Again, customer service was great, nice people. Happy that my babies were back with me, they smelled and looked fresh!
However, the next day we realized that the kitten with the most fleas still had a few roaming around her :(
Now I’m not saying this is 100% Sophie’s grooming’s fault as I know that they can’t get any flea bath or medications yet since they’re still so young, but I don’t think they got ALL of the eggs out which is the reason for 3-​star review. But overall would still recommend this lovely place.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG THERE FOR TEETH CLEANING! We have been using the service there from an outside under the table entity that accepts cash only. I should have listened to that first red flag. After two years or more of consistent dental cleaning one of my dogs started experiencing acute unknown pain. Took her to the Vet and source could not be determined. While there the Vet recommend their annual teeth cleaning service because she felt the plaque buildup and gums looked bad and showed me where. I told her we regularly get her teeth cleaned twice a month at Sophie’s. Next visit at Sophie’s I informed the owner of my concern and she was slightly defensive. I left it alone. Six months later, after continued visits to Sophie’s my dog started experiencing acute pain again. Back to the Vet and she informed me she believed it was from pain in regards to bad teeth. The were obviously getting worse and she showed me where they were bleeding. My dog needed surgery and five teeth pulled. Even after healing I still took her to Sophie’s for regular cleaning like a dummy! Just the other night my neighbor was outside talking to me about a concern he had with Sophie’s and their dental cleaning service. I was shocked and furious that he described the exact same scenario as me without me saying a word about his dogs teeth deterioration experience. Only two things could be happening there. 1. Either the hygienist is not actually cleaning to teeth to recognize the potential issues or 2. She is torturing the dogs with pain from the cleaning and recognizes bad gums and loose teeth and not telling anyone. There is no other way around it. The owner listened to my case and wanted me to talk to the hygienist and I felt it was already too late. It would be comparable to a spouse coming home with a sexually transmitted disease defending the «I don’t know how I got it, I haven’t slept with anyone excuse.»

I took my Puppy Griffin into Sophie’s today. And I gotta say it was the best experience ever! I was very apprehensive taking him anywhere because I simply didn’t want my dog to be traumatized (more like myself!) Lol.
Barb the owner and the rest of the staff were so friendly and loving towards my dog. In the beginning while I was handing him over to one of the ladies Griffin started to cry like a big baby. When I picked him up boy… he was a different pup! He was not only excited to see me but he legit seemed super happy and looked like a different dog because of the amazing grooming he received. Beautiful!
I would highly suggest to anyone that they give this place a try! At least if you want the best care for your animal. Say Monique Carlo recommended this place. ;)

People who work here really care about dogs and their service. I like how my dig’s stress free here though he didn’t enjoy his previous grooming experiences at other groomers like Petsmart… He even enjoyed going there when I took him in for the second time. Highly recommended!

Service was professional, my dog was comfortable here and he doesn’t often like being at the groomers. The price was good for the amount and level of service provided. The staff was extremely warm. Definitely coming back for more!

Had a puppy bath here, the puppy came back so clean, loved it. Will definitely come back again in future.

I am so lucky to have Sophie’s in my neighborhood. My pom, Taylor, loves this place! The owners and their staff r the best… and they have the cutest stuff! clothes, leashes, etc. its a one-​stop shop for all of my dog’s needs. this place!

It’s 8:30 AM. They open at 8:00. I called to inquire about their grooming services and before I can even get half of my sentence in. The lady who did not introduce herself on the phone cut me off and said, «I’m gonna have to take your number for this. I’ll call you back.» Just like that. Well. Fine then… I hung up. They’ll never get my business after that. I understand if they’re busy but there’s a way to get customers off the phone without being rude. Just saying… If you’re rude to me on the phone… How will you be treating my dogs when I’m not around?

Im on a tight budget now. So bringing my poodles to sophies is like a treat for them lol.
I do admit I have high expectations but my poodles seem happier after sophies. I went to a less expensive one n they were not happy dogs. The regular groomer has become sloppy too. So it was difficult to find a groomer I like in the area.
So today im giving my dogs a treat!

Great service! They were very accommodating and let me make an appointment the morning of! They also want to make sure you are satisfied and were very happy to take my pup back to change anything I didn’t like!

I took my dog to the Sophie’s a few weeks ago and my dog has been acting funny (very distant sad irritable) ever since took her to the get groomed. So it turns out that they popped her ears some how while they were grooming her. She now was blood in her ears and is not the same dog she was before.
yes my dog isn’t the easiest to work with but they where told this prior and they know this because I’ve take. Her there many times before. It would have been nice to know they hurt her so could gotten her immediate care.

I am quite disappointed with this place now.
It’s always good service here and the outcome is breath taking and smelly good. But as I was admiring my dog’s ears at night, I found a part where he used to have a huge mat behind his ear, has been completely taken out (thank you), AND there was some redness on his skin! Like a bruise when you brush against the skin and it scratches the skin to the point it gets irritated and bleed. They usually leave his mats in that area alone since it’s tough. BUT I would of liked to know about little nips the time I pick him up! So I could put some kind of ointment ASAP after the grooming :/​so very disappointed!
I’m willing to give this place a chance as they have always been nice to me and my dog, and they do a good job. But just this little problem is very disappointing that I was not informed. I wouldn’t be upset if I was told, cause I know accidents happens and my dog is the devil.
Update: besides the ears having irritation, so did part of his back. Right now behind the ear and his back are scabbed and healing. WHO IS THIS NEW GROOMER?!

Great place! Been here a few times and my Violet seems to be good here. Very clean & Love the décor! Friendly staff & Great Prices! We are repeat customers.

I’ve been here one time and my partner has been here two other times. The first time we had our Chiweenie and over the phone, I was told for the entire package (trimming nails, bath, etc…) it would be around 15 – 20 depending how big the dog was; when my partner dog there, they charged him $ 25+ (because of tip obvs.) for the package.
The second time, I walked in with our Shiba/​American Eskimo mix, and they were great. I only asked for a nail cutting/​trimming; they charged me $ 10 for nail cutting because he did not need the additional trimming. I also had a lovely conversation with the older woman at the cash register about how well she thought they treated dogs there over Petsmart. I was incredibly happy with the service there so I wanted to make my partner give them another chance (because he was not happy about the overcharging last time). The two younger ladies also made him so comfortable that I did not hear him screaming in the back (which has happened at Petsmart).
Third time, I had my partner bring the shiba/​American Eskimo in to have his nails cut. I made the appointment with no problem; they were accomodating and told me 12 was the last time they would be able to accept dogs on a Saturday because they closed at 2. No problem, or so I thought. When my partner brought in our puppy, the older woman told him it would be $ 20.
Here’s my confusion, why would you charge me $ 10 the first time then $ 20 for my partner the second time that the dog comes in. It seems like they randomnly charge dog owners depending on their mood which does not make me pleased. On top of it, my partner heard our puppy screaming in the back when the older lady cut my dog’s nails. The nails came out looking busted. We had to fix it when the puppy got back home – why am I going to a professional groomer if I need to fix my puppy’s nails when he gets back? Why would I go back to a groomer’s when I can hear my puppy crying in the back when I can get that same treatment at PetSmart? I will attach a pic later of my puppy’s «groomed» nails.

Love this place! I used to bring my Yorkie here about 5 years ago. I have 2 new babies and would take them to another groomer (don’t know why). I passed by the other day and took them in the next day. Why did I not bring them sooner?! They looked and smelled great and a lot cheaper than the other groomer. I’m going to bring them here to get groomed from now on.

I trust Sophie with my dogs more than I trust me with my dogs! The lady is magic! She genuinely cares for each pet as if they were her own. I’ve been going to her for years (8 – 9 maybe!). There were a few unfortunate occasions where I forgot to call ahead and had to settle for another groomer. BIG MISTAKE. She’ll almost always squeeze me in on her busy Saturday’s.
Honestly, both my dogs (Gemma and Dolce) always come home so calm and relaxed. They’re both high-​energy dogs that are a handful. When your dogs are like your kids, it is so important to trust that they’re in good hands. Their cuts are always so detailed; Gemma always comes home with two bows on her ears and sometimes Dolce will have a little bandana. Sweet little touches they do!

My babies (Peaches and Buster) and I had a great experience w/​Sophie’s Wags to Whiskers. They both went in for some major pampering sessh!!!
The staff was definitely kind and welcoming. Very helpful working with you on what services are needed, informative of what is going to be done, and clear about what you’re paying for. That’s important so you know that you’re leaving your baby (s) in good hands.
Peaches is a pansy when she’s in a new place and separated from me. The staff was so warm and welcoming to her. Honestly, first time I’ve seen her excited to have a bath! Buster on the other hand just loves everyone so he was just excited to meet new people.
When I returned… boy were they in such a chipper mood. They were clean as a whistle, fur was soft as a feather, and just groomed so beautifully. I was ready for my snuggle sesh with them. And I could totally see it in their faces that they had a fun time and really enjoyed themselves. If they enjoyed it then I wouldn’t mind at all coming back for another round! =)

I’ve been taking my dog Bowie here for about two years. They always do a really great job. I love how quickly they get the grooming down and how friendly the staff is.

We had a great experience there! My dog Zeus loves the place and the ladies there. They treated him like a king and he received plenty of hugs back as well as treat or two for his tricks he did;).
They are knowledgeable about dogs and they have adorable merchandise.
