Hearing Engineering — not just hearing aids. We are committed to your satisfaction. Call us today.

History

Established in 1982.

While at UCSF, I discovered that hearing aids were sold like simple amplifiers. Practitioners had little technical training. The supporting science was limited.

The methods I developed were immediately successful then, and are much better now.

I continually urge the industry to bring these methods to hearing aid providers. Their answer: «Practitioners just want ‘fast and easy’ ways to deliver the hearing aids. They’re not as technically savvy as you are, and don’t have your education.»

They want to convince you that getting hearing aids is just like getting reading glasses… requiring only «tweaking» adjustments.

We all know, «change happens» often unnoticeably. Hearing loss has consequences. People also need the intimate on-going support services that can catch and mitigate the accelerating cognitive decline that can occur if hearing loss is not managed properly and consistently.

Without Hearing EngineeringTM the hearing impaired consumer loses, and they don’t even know it.

Meet the Business Owner

Dr. Gil M.

Business Owner

I’m Dr. Gil Magilen. I have a PhD in Biophysics, UC Berkeley, followed by neuroscience research at UCSF Med Ctr.

Over the past 30+ years in my hearing aid clinic and research practice, I’ve developed the methods and instrumentation I call Hearing EngineeringTM

The huge improvement in human performance with Hearing EngineeringTM is presented in papers available on my website.

People are astonished when they discover this scientific approach. Those who’ve worn hearing aids can’t believe that what we do is not available everywhere and regret their lost years… and lost money. Many say I do miracles. I don’t. It is just science. I certainly wish I could do more.

In an industry where hearing-corrections are not regulated, I’m hoping to increase consumer awareness of the need for Hearing EngineeringTM.

I also hope to attract not only those seeking better hearing, but those wishing to acquire the instrumentation and training to become Hearing Engineers.
