After having a terrible experience at the Watch Doctor in Walnut Creek (see review under Watch Doctor) I went directly to Vern Jimenez Jewelry in Walnut Creek to have my battery replaced in my watch. The owner Mitch Stevens was very friendly, kind and replaced my battery on the spot. He only charged $ 10 and said that he just recently raised his price from $ 5 after realizing he was being charged more for his watch batteries. This is a very small independently owned jewelry store where the service was excellent. I had checked at Macy’s (in Walnut Creek) where I had bought the watch to see if they would replace the battery and Macy’s sends their watches out and charges $ 50-​$ 60! Another jewelry store in Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek charged $ 45 to replace the battery! Ridiculous! Jimenez Jewelry was a great find!
