They only get 2 stars because their phone people are pleasant and I don’t have to wait on hold long. That said, their drivers have gone incompetent over the past 2 – 3 months. I’m guessing this is related to the service contract changing on March 1. Regardless of that, I’m paying for service and I expect it. Today they skipped the green waste pickup. Two weeks ago they skipped the green waste pickup. Three weeks before that they skipped the green waste pickup. I believe another couple weeks before that they skipped the green waste pickup. Do I sound like a broken record? Also I think somewhere in late Dec or early Jan they skipped the recycling pickup as well. I called to request the free monthly or annual(it’s confusing which) bulk green waste pickup in December, and was completely denied. I have never used the bulk pickup, so it’s not like I’m out of «credits». They refused to come before their service contract ends on Feb 28. What the hell?

Sometimes I feel I have to take something out of my house and recycle it right away. When this uncontrollable urge hits after hours I can come to this spot to rid myself of paper, cardboard and such. It is simple to turn in the one-way driveway, stop next to the correct bin, drop things in, drive out, and then quickly get back on to the freeway. This not a particularly attractive recycle center. However, it seems to be open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. I haven’t seen a gate, so I suppose I can go anytime I want to.

I called Valley Waste Management in Walnut Creek because the wheel had broken off our recycle bin. I got through to customer service right away. Lauren, the customer service rep, was very professional and accomodating. We got a new wheel put on our garbage can the next garbage collection day. Good Service!
