The Candy Counter

I love this candy store. I was deprived of candy as a child so I’m a candy addict as an adult:) The candy counter has a great selection of gummy candy, chocolates and lots of other fun candies. I’m a big fan of the selection of gummy candies. I do wish they would get some cherry sours, but I’m non complaining. I drive all the way to Walnut Creek just to go to this candy store. I love it!

My daughter begs to stop here anytime we pass it. They have a big variety of candy. It’s always a good time when you’re picking out your favorite candies!

Confession: I have a massive sweet tooth. And this place most definitely satisfies it. Any kind of candy you want, they have it! Even stuff you’ve never heard of before. The gelato and fancy chocolates are a nice addition to the store. Kind of pricey, but candy is always fresh.
This place is a sight to see. Floor to ceiling candy covered walls.

Best service ever. Employees are very professional, helpful to choose among many offers. I will go there again with my family. I recommend this place to everyone.

I would say that my favorite part of the Candy Counter is their HUGE range of foreign candy. They have pretty much everything you can think of, from Jelly Babies to Aero bars to Maltesers and even Crunchies too! Of course there is a huge range of other candy as well-​the selections of sugar free and bulk candy are extensive. The staff is always very friendly so I enjoy that as well.

Visited the candy store last night. LOVE candy stores! Nice and clean but the candy taste aweful! Its cheap candy that has been sitting in bulk containers for a long time. i am writing this to let other candy lovers be aware of what there buying. Very expensive of course and horrible cheap candy! Ya cant food us with cheap candy!

It’s a nice looking store, clean and neat but way too big inside and not enough product to fill it. Also @ .75 an ounce, it’s robbery! Jelly Belly’s are the most expensive candy and those usually sell for $ 7 – 8 a pound at stores., you are looking at $ 12 here folks! Also their selection of bulk candy needs needs more variety and it would be nice to see some more international candy. Store clerks are always nice and friendly.

Large array of candy choices, ie, retro, bulk, individual and great gift ideas also! One of the best candy shops I’ve been too in the Bay Area.

I went there and thought the lady at the front was very rude and not helpful at all. I found out after doing some shopping that the rude lady was the owner! Wow is all I can say. I will not go back!

This place is awesome. It’s just a store with candy in it. Clean. Quick. Lots of variety.

The Candy Oounter does imitate Powell’s, they just carry candy bars, chocolates, chocolate bars, jelly bellies, taffy, and bulk candies.(.75 cents@ounce)
overall, selections seem pricey. not sure how their pricing compares with powells, other candy stores.

Cool store. I like that they are open late (10pm ish) so you can stop there for dessert after eating at a WC restaurant.

Love this place sooooo much! They have all the candies I like and haven’t had in the longest time! Most defiantly coming here more often!!!

A candy dream come true. Amazing selection of new candy and retro flavors. I felt like I had ADD trying to focus in what I wanted! Will be back for sure.

This is a great addition to Downtown Walnut Creek in an excellent location, right across the street from CREAM.
If you have a hankering for oodles and oodles of sweet treats, you’ll be in heaven here!
The store reminds me of my favorite candy shoppe at Cannery Row in Monterey. Now I can just head downtown to satisfy my sweet-​tooth :)
Any sort of candy that you can imagine! Giant Gummy Bears! Giant Pixy Stix! Giant Lollipops! Oh my!
Lining the walls in clear plastic bins or in cute, tin pails; on bookcase-​like shelves; and on tables in the middle of the store. Old timey baskets on both the wall and on the floor are filled with lots of different taffy flavors.
They have so many different types of candy! There are even shelves of candy specifically for wine pairing, celebrations, and gifts of packaged chocolates.
Speaking of gifts, if you can’t eat all of the sweet treats yourself, you can get a gift basket or even a card to go along with your gift. They have a large rack full of cards to choose from as well.
Many of the candies are marked with prices, but some of the loose candy — including the rock candy pops — is not. They use a scale to weigh it to determine the price.
Some have a standard price, e.g. ¼ lb. of taffy is $ 2.75.
And if you’re really on a diet, pick up one of their handbags *made from candy wrappers* and imagine the candy that was once inside of said wrappers :)
It’s a pleasant touch when the owners hand out taffy samples to passers-​by to entice them to enter the store :)
