James was very helpful. The place was packed when I got there today but James was quick and friendly and assured me my car would be done in 30 minutes. I had called another place earlier and was turned away because they were too busy. Not as friendly as James! Despite being very busy I was in and out quickly and treated respectfully. This place cares about getting your business! Thank you. Would come back for sure and will recommend to friends.

Friendly service and unbearable price. Don’t let those few bad reviews turn you off. Pretty much all of them were the result of customer error and failure to do what you should always do when you get your car serviced, ask questions! He is quick and efficient. They are very good at what they do.

Smog N Dash does not do appointments and is a small operation. You will be stuck waiting for a rather long time if there are others awaiting Smog.
The tenant is a nice guy however won’t ever be coming back given the lack of transparency in pricing and long wait times.

Helpful, reassuring, knowledge, efficient. Always hard to go to «car places,» but I felt welcome and confident there. A little difficult to find, but a convenient location in Walnut Creek once you see it. Lots of parking, places to sit while waiting. A good small business we’re happy to have in the community.

Smog n Dash truly does not care about customer satisfaction. I just got my Honda serviced with a new catalytic converter. The dealer neglected to tell me to drive over 100 miles before getting a smog. I drove 15 miles to Smog N Dash and my car failed. Their coupon said they match competitor’s prices. I pointed out that most of the competitors offer a free retest. He said that matching prices only goes for the initial smog test. Yes, I should have made sure re-​tests are free. However, if he says he matches prices he should mean it. I told him I would write a bad review… he said he didn’t care. I think he was so mad at me that he parked my car as far away as possible for me to retrieve it after the retest. There were plenty of parking places at his business. He parked in somebody else’s parking place that had a sign that parking was for that business only or it would be towed. Really. What a spiteful, disgusting man. I will NEVER go back there. For less than $ 5 more (with a coupon), Horizon Smog on Pacheco in Martinez offers free re-​tests. 1 star is too good for the one I chose!

James at Smog n Dash was fantastic! He was extremely polite and professional. He had me in and out in about 20 minutes. I have been here several times, and I have never been disappointed. I would highly recommend them!

I paid $ 80.95 for my smog inspection even though the coupon that I brought in showed that my smog inspection would only cost $ 44.20. I came in with a Smog N Dash Coupon which clearly states the smog inspection for my 1997 Toyota Camry would cost $ 44.20, ($ 35.95 for passenger cars older than 2000 plus $ 8.25 for the state smog certificate). So, I expected to pay $ 44.20. Unfortunately, they added a $ 20 Star Cars Fee, $ 15 Dyno Fee, and a $ 1.75 credit card transaction fee. So, I ended up paying $ 80.95 for the smog inspection, which was $ 36.75 higher than the price advertised online. I don’t like to do business that way.

A consistent exercise regimen is proper temple maintenance, a biweekly pedicure is adequate phalange maintenance and a smog certification every two years is necessary vehicle maintenance. When I realized it was smog cert time, I wanted to make sure that I found a quick and inexpensive spot to get my precious bambina tested. As always, I turned to the infinite wisdom and degrading humor of Unilocal for my intel and investigative research and was not disappointed.
Smog ‘N Dash was conveniently located, pretty darn cheap and single-​handedly manned by a friendly, sweet chap named James who took care of my babe in no time. I stopped by on my lunch break and was in and out within ten to fifteen minutes. You have to enter through the Kevin’s Noodle House driveway (to the left of the Noodle House) and meander up, up, and up just a little bit further past a few auto shops. Luckily, the Smog ‘N Dash signage and «SMOG TEST HERE!» banners make the navigation effortless. Put your car, heart, cash-​money-​dollars and smog certification in the hands of a guy who truly values your business and shows his integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction from start to (ten minute!) finish. Look for a coupon especially those that come in the mail. James is nice but he’s a one man show so you may have to wait a while or return at a later time.

Easy in and out service. The place was really hard to find because of all the side streets and warehouses, but it’s in the back of the building and kinda tough to maneuver back there. Worth the trouble, it’s super close to the DMV in walnut creek so can’t complain. They were also polite and professional. Thanks!

James was unbelievably friendly and helpful. I was unable to smog my car due to failing the five OBD II tests which your car has to pass before the emissions test is done. He gave me ideas of the issues and how I could fix them… all without charging me.
Over the next few months I brought my car by to test the OBD II about 4 times. Each time he quickly and happily tested my car and give me more advice. The advice he gave me was correct and I was able to fix the problem myself!
Then I finally I passed my smog completely! Thanks James!

I am a VERY happy customer. I went to a very shady place to get a smog check and failed, with a $ 200 diagnostics bill and a $ 400 repair estimate. I paid because the guy took my car hostage essentially.
Then I started feeling uneasy about where I’d been, went to Smog N Dash, and for $ 35 my car passed just fine. It was quick, professional, and the people there actually explained to me how completely crazy even the paperwork was that the place I’d gone before was.
I’ve already given a bad review for the other place, but wanted to make sure I gave the good guys a positive one.

Had to get my gf’s Nissan 300ZX smogged, so I found this place on Unilocal.They have a coupon on their website, which they accepted no problem. Typical wait times for smog places. There was only 1 person ahead of me, so it wasn’t too long. I’ll be back if I need to get my car smogged again.
Location can be hard to find, so just remember that it’s behind Kevin’s Noodle House (the phở restaurant).

It goes without saying.
I come here every year to get a smog certification for my car.
No matter what, it didn’t take me more than 15mins max! On top of that, price is the best to compare to anywhere else around.

The cheapest smog check I’ve had in a while. Paid $ 37.95 to have my SUV smog checked. I had a coupon from one of those envelopes stuffed with coupons in the mail.
I have paid anywhere from $ 100 to $ 60 to have my car smogged in the past and now am pretty upset at how much I paid back then.
Wait was short, because I was the only one there. The whole thing only took 15 minutes or so.
Location can be hard to find, but if you’re driving north on Main Street, turn right after the Vietnamese restaurant. Go past the restaurant, up the drive way. Turn left at the top of the drive way and follow the alley until you see the smog check signs.
