I went there with my husband to get glasses for us. They have a great collection of frames in all the super brands. The associates are so helpful and knowledgable. Kathleen and Suzanne were so sweet and wonderful. They helped us in choosing the perfect pair of glasses. I even changed my mind about getting a different pair mid-​way the processing, but they were so cooperative about that too. Definitely coming back here!

I’ve gone through many eye doctors in the past and I’m happy that I was referred to Dr. Roy’s office. I’ve finally found an eye doctor that I plan on sticking with. Dr. Roy is great at what he does and takes the time to help you understand what he’s looking for. I wear contacts and glasses and was happy with the large selection of glasses that they have available at their office.
One thing I will mention is that Dr. Roy does talk A LOT. I wouldn’t recommend him if you’re the type of person that likes to get in and out quickly. He enjoys the company of others and will tell you some entertaining stories.

I visited Dr. Roy for the first time today and I have to say that he is by far the best eye doctor I have ever been to. He took his time examining my eyes and made sure that I understood everything that he was doing; he also took the time to explain my diagnosis to me before sending me home with some loaner glasses. This is the first time that I have left an eye doctors office feeling confident.
Dr. Roy is honestly the best. He takes the time to get to know you and even shares stories about himself so that you feel comfortable with him. He told me tonight,“thank you for putting your trust in me. I have the best job because I get to meet amazing people like you.”

Thanks to Dr. Roy, my migraines have dropped dramatically. And instead of him trying to sell me in contact or laser correction, he was honest and say that I didn’t need them. Good call Dr.

Dr. Roy and his staff are very friendly. However, they have some issues. I have ordered contacts twice only to call back later and find out that they have no record of me even calling to request them. Then, I requested a glasses prescription and got an incorrect one mailed to me. Luckily I recognized this before I paid for new glasses with the wrong prescription.

If you want a real eye exam, go see Dr. Callan. Probably the best OD in the Bay Area. Did you know he teaches at the UC Berkeley school of optometry? He also advises the engineering team at Zeiss regarding design of ophthalmic diagnostic instruments and software. This guy is sharp! That’s why his hours are limited. But if you are lucky enough to get on his schedule, it’s probably the best and most thorough eye exam you will ever have. Call weeks in advance to get scheduled.
Sure the clinic doesn’t have the best selection of frames. Get your exam there anyways and buy your justin bieber Versace frames at the mall.

Dr. Roy has taken a very thorough interest in my vision, and general well-​being. He suggested reading glasses for me since I work at a computer each day. I was skeptical, but it did end up making a huge difference, and i always go home in a much better mood (no more eye strain caused by monitor use! Who knew?).
He’s more like an eye mechanic. He loves to talk, and he wants to take care of you. Highly recommended!

Dr Roy is a wonderful person who cares about his patients and they have a good selection of frames, but what I was prescribed was completely off and he did not try to see, other than use the machine to measure, how well the fit was.

Dr Roy was friendly and extremely thorough with his eye examination — talking me through each step with fun facts along the way. He answered all my questions. (This was my first visit to his office.) His staff are equally friendly and professional.

Dr. Roy is awesome! This was my first experience at his practice and I couldn’t of left any happier. He does an excellent job relating what he’s doing to lamen terms so you can easily understand. He was very thorough and I would highly recommend his service!

Dr. Roy is AWESOME! He is very good at what he does and I am thankful to have found his office. He used some really great methods for finding the PERFECT prescription for me. Not only that but I was extremely surprised to purchase the exact pair of glasses he recommended for me. Of all the frames to choose from, he pulled out a pair that was just exactly what I wanted. And I didn’t even know I wanted that style! And the office staff are all lovely ladies that enjoy their work environment and exhibit kindness and professionalism.
When I say he knows what he is doing, I mean it. Not only that but he has the best bedside manner of any medical professional that I have ever met. He is kind and a bit of a ham, just ask him to tell you the snail joke.
If you are sick and tired of the same old methods and techniques, that nearly all optometrists use, please give Dr Roy’s office a try. I sincerely believe you will not be disappointed. The only thing I would consider a downside with this office is that you might have to wait a month before you get an appointment. But call and try just in case!

Great service! The staff is wonderful and very polite. They create such a family oriented type of atmosphere where everyone is always smiling at you. It’s a tiny little place but it has all the high-​tech optical equipment like an autorefractor, NCT, OCT, and perimeter necessary to guarantee that you are well taken care of. All the doctors are very knowledgeable and patient to give their undivided attention to my mother, who saw Dr. Callan. My mother is a hard patient because of the language barrier and also because she had difficulty following directions. However, Dr. Callan made sure she understood what type of glasses she was receiving and why. My mother ABSOLUTELY loves the computer glasses that Dr. Callan prescribed which helps her see at work when she is working on the computer. Previous doctors never even mentioned it as an option and my mother use to go to Kaiser for optometry services. Kaiser’s services are usually a quick fix 20min. refraction and out the door you go type of deal which is not the case at Roy Optometric Center.

I have had very many visits with different optometrists and I have to say that Dr. Roy is very knowledgeable and freely gives information to educate patients to make the best decision.
My visit with Dr. Roy was very in“sight“ful… not only did he give me a no BS assessment and talked me through every step of the exam, his kindness, professionalism and passion for life is what makes him stand out.

Has taken care of my wife’s family since she was a little girl. So when it was time for me to address my blurry vision I went to see Dr. Roy. He is such a kind person. He makes you feel like family right off the bat. I was very pleased with how knowledgeable he is and he explains what is going on with your eyes so that you understand why your eyes are behaving the way they are. My astigmatism was so significant that contacts never really worked. My glasses work great and allow me to excel at my job where clear vision is paramount. I would recommend him to anyone with optometric needs. Thank you Dr. Roy for your level of concern, service, and due diligence.
