Two years ago, I was at my wits end. I had a ruptured S1-​L5 disk and literally was unable to stand for more than 5 minutes at a time. Dr. Livermore did the necessary MRI to identify the problem and suggested a microdiskectomy, but in no way pushed me to get surgery. After hearing many negative opinions about back surgery and prognosis, I was terrified to have surgery. For almost 7 months, I suffered with unbearable sciatic pain based on my fear of surgery. By the time I agreed to the procedure, I had been in constant pain for months on end and felt I had no other choice.
I went in for the procedure at 10:30 in the morning, home PAIN-​FREE (except for the obvious incision pain) at 10:30 the same night. It has now been 2 years and I have had no further problems with my back. Dr. Livermore truly gave me back my life and for that, I am eternally grateful. I cannot say enough positive about this kind, educated, compassionate man and would recommend him unconditionally to anyone seeking help for back problems.

I had back pain for over a year due to a herniated disc. I had tried everything from physical therapy to steroid injections. I was being pushed towards spinal fusion surgery at a different facility, and didn’t want to have a surgery that drastic. Finally I decided I wanted a second opinion and I went to go see Dr. Livermore, who has treated my family throughout the years. Not only was he incredibly kind, but he made me feel like there was hope to rid myself of pain. He recommended a minor surgical procedure but in no way pressured me into anything. I decided to go forward with surgery, and as of one week post op, my sciatic pain is gone. I can’t not believe how great i feel just one week after surgery. I feel like he gave me my life back. He kept me informed about everything that would happen in the procedure, and is an amazing surgeon. I am so grateful.

Dr. Livermore is attentive, caring, responsive, and extremely competent. He carefully explains all treatment options and makes you a partner in the decision of what regimen will be used. On weekends snd evenings, he promptly returns calls and is willling to answer all questions.

I have severe spinal issues, was sent by my HMO to Dr. Livermore as an URGENT case. The doctor sent in his report w/​o looking at my MRI report (which I assume responsibility for not remembering to take with me to the appointment). When the doctors at the HMO received the report they were baffled. He called me and left a VM in which he clearly was back-​peddling on what he said. He then had me come in with the report and confirmed what he said previously w/​o report. Think about it, if he said anything to the contrary he would be contradicting HIMSELF. I’ve seen two specialists out of pocket since because my HMO doctors claimed I was a breath away from being in a wheelchair. I have no anger towards the doctor, on the contrary as another review claims, I find he can be charming. On the other hand, there are far too many outstanding doctors to take a chance on a doctor who submits reports w/​o seeing all the medical evidence, (I’m suspecting so that billing can be generated). I’ve heard from a VERY close friend who worked in his building that the techs refer to him as a non-​operating surgeon. I don’t wish him any personal harm but do hope that anyone seeking SKILLED medical care would look elsewhere. Someone with a NON-​serious condition would probably do ok with him if their HMO insists on contracting his practice. This is what we are forced to deal with in a world where medicine is run like a business.

My elderly mother is a patient of Dr. Livermore’s. She has severe spinal issues and she was referred to Dr. Livermore by her rheumatologist. Dr. Livermore has been nothing but caring and sympathetic towards my mother — I really dont know why anyone would say any differently. He immediately recognized the urgency in her symptoms and scheduled spinal microsurgery with the utmost speed. The only reason I am not giving him 5 *‘s is because there is almost always a fairly long wait in the waiting room, and the chairs are not very comfortable for someone who is in pain.

This doctor was the most uncaring doctor I ever experienced. I had a QME prior by my insurance carrier’s request and the doctor with the QME suggested a MRI and this doctor Normal Livermore said it would be a waste of time and money??? He wasn’t going to allow it. Well I got news for you.
Well I fired him and went to a REAL DOCTOR and got an attorney and the new doctor pointed all my problem areas immediately and knew what was going on with me. He ordered a MRI and they found thru this MRI that doesn’t lie. I need SHOULDER SURGERY. This Normal Livermore wouldn’t even give me pain meds when I asked him for them. Then when I visited with him the first time. He left the room without even saying good bye or that the visit was over with. I was stunned at his lack of hospitality. Not only did I notice that. He sat the whole time with a pad in his hand never looking over my injuries and just asked me questions thru the whole visit. No hands on. And told me to walk to a wall and back. I totally didn’t wish to keep the second appointment with him but my new lawyer stated I should. When I went in the second time. He said that he was going to say I could return to work and that nothing they can do. And I was permanent and stationary. Well the MRI I recently got to go thru states otherwise. He seemed to be working for my workman’s comp insurance and not really a caring doctor for my well being. This is just my experience with him. The whole time he could look me in the eye. And when I asked him for the MRI he said waste of time and money. And if I didn’t agree with him I would be free to leave. Since I am not in agreement with him. WHICH I DID. And GLAD I did. I just want to say he is not the employee friendly doctor you would hope to obtain. And his doctor visits were a waste of my time and gas. Plus I found him rude and bias on the first visit. I would think when you give a person your business. They should be thankful. I didn’t feel this with him. Also trying to set up the first appointment with him. I didn’t feel one of his secretaries was very pleasant on the phone to begin with. Which was a warning sign right there. Also when I asked them to fax over the results of my statis to the second job I worked for. They made it a big huge issue and when I asked for the proof the secretary told me my insurance had called him prior to my visit and was suppose to be there. I found that odd that he was in cahoots with my insurance and got a call before I arrived from them which was a real wierd scenario. Thanks for his secretary leaking that out to me in advance. I had a feeling this would be the wrong place to go. Maybe he’s not paying them enough to put up with him. All I want to say is this cat is a joke. I would not recommend you go here.
