Business Owner
I have been in the construction industry for over 30 years. Started in residential construction back in the late 70’s, the economy went sour in the early 80’s and I moved to commercial construction as a Project Manager. In 1989 I decided to get my contractors license and start my own business. In the first year 2 years I grew the business by referrals and had 7 people working for me. In 1991 the economy took a dive, the phone quit ringing and I was forced to close the business. I went to work for a local general contractor as a superintendent building fast food restaurants, high end restaurants, night clubs, retail stores and commercial tenant improvements. With the current economy the company I worked for was forced to close the doors. With the job market in the dumps I decided to renew my contractors license and start again. Things are moving along very well not quite like they did back in 89 but that’s because of the current economy. My referral list is growing again.
