History

Established in 1994.

I started in the mortgage lending business on April 21, 1994. I got involved in it to help pay my way through college. Completely by accident, my reputation grew and soon I found myself shoulder deep in my new career.

During the past 20-​years, I’ve closed over 5000 residencal loans for my clients. I have developed several subdivisions; worked tirelessly to help the first-​time home buyer; I have owned my own successful mortgage brokerage that spanned several western states; developed and built commercial real estate property and I’ve seen the biggest booms and the biggest crashes.

I’ve survived it all because I never lose touch with my clients. I am 100% referral base and I personalize every transaction. I am fully vested in the smooth and successful outcome of each transaction because for me, it is not just «one deal», but rather the start of a professional relationship that will last for years.

Citywide Home Loans started as a small mortgage brokerage shop in the apartment of Steve Goorman. A savvy and successful businessman, Steve spent the last 14-​years building Citywide into one of the nation’s most respected and powerful mortgage bankers today.

During that time, Citywide has gone from being a humble broker to underwriting and closing loans in it’s own name (making its own decisions). Funding all of its loans with its own money. Has become the preferred outlet for some of the nation’s most coveted and specialized investors. Has become a «Freddie Direct» lender and is now just waiting for the final approval on our «Ginnie Direct» status. All of these things combine to increase our lending power and reduce costs to our clients.

Steve continues to pioneer ever-​new and innovative technologies and products and services to keep Citywide constantly of the cutting edge of our industry.
