Maserati of Walnut Creek

While I did not purchase my vehicle here, my most recent visit was a 2-​star experience at best.
I stopped in, having an idea what I was looking for. I asked for help and there was one woman and one man to present when I arrived. I asked for help from the saleswoman, who pointed me in the direction of the man. He said he needed to make a call, before asking what I was looking for, and promptly got on the phone.
30 minutes later I had browsed the inventory– which was actually quite decent– and the salesman was still on the phone. I asked the saleswoman if she could assist me with a specific car that I wanted to purchase. She told me I would need to wait for the man.
Another 15 minutes went by, and I was through waiting. I decided to leave, after having been at the dealership for almost an hour, receiving no assistance.
I left the lot and started walking down the street to my car, and the woman came running out of the dealership, flagging me down. Lucky, I thought. I was headed elsewhere! Good thing he finally got off the phone… But no. She came running down the sidewalk to tell me to check out their website and to call if I see anything I like… Um, seriously? I expressed interest in a car ON THE LOT, and waited for nearly an hour. And I needed to peruse the website?!
Two stars as they have a decent selection, but good luck getting someone to sell one to you.

Great experience with Maserati of Walnut Creek and their salesperson, Scott Carter. Scott gave me a preliminary quote on a new car and surprise, was the same quote when I came in to sign papers.
Very professional environment, great service and car arrived on time detailed and ready to go.
Overall, a great experience.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about my experience leasing through Maserati of Walnut Creek. Scott my salesman was awesome. Easy to talk to, no pressure. The financing was simple, no stress, and they were fair with my trade as well. Julia in finance made it so easy. I was in and out of signing in under 15 minutes. I absolutely love my new car! It was the best car buying experience I have ever had. The whole staff is kind and friendly.

I just wanted to say I had a wonderful experience buying my new Maserati. Rick assisted me and was so wonderful to work with. I did not feel pressured what-​so-​ever. Rick was very professional, responsive and made my overall experience very enjoyable. I will definitely be back to buy my next car. I highly recommend Rick and this dealership.

Extremely unprofessional, and terrible dealership experience!
We had an appointment to test drive the new Alfa Romeo. The receptionist was wonderful, and quickly offered us a beverage while we waited… And waited. Rick came up to us 20 mins after our appointment time and said he was running late with another customer, but would be with us.
After waiting a total of 45 mins., he informed us that the Alfa Romeo was being serviced, and would be unavailable.
When we asked him why he didn’t bother to call us ahead of time to inform us that the car wouldn’t be ready when he was fully aware we were driving an hour to get there, he simply shrugged. My husband nearly had steam coming out of his ears as he continued to ask why he kept us waiting for nearly an hour before breaking the bad news to us.
It gets better… Rick then did the classic bait and switch and attempted to show us the higher-​end model, and said he could check with management if it would be ok if we could test drive that model instead. He then proceeded to ask us if we would guarantee that we would drive off with it if he arranged the test drive.
Ok, let’s put this in perspective — Even if we were, to ask us to guarantee such a thing after making us wait, AND pulling a bait and switch was on the same level as a horrible first date asking «if I pay for dinner, do you promise I’ll get lucky?» I just can’t imagine in my wildest dreams EVER treating a client like that.
I made it a point to mention that after receiving superstar treatment from Tesla (we just got a Tesla a few weeks prior), the lack of common decency we got from him to notify/​make alternative arrangements prior to us driving all that way was unacceptable, not to mention a stark contrast in professionalism.
He then said he would talk to management, and then he left us waiting for another 20 mins. I wanted to be supportive of the hubby really wanting to try out the car, but I couldn’t help commenting that it’s sad that it took a tech company (Tesla) to show shady dealers like what’s-his name what a great car buying experience should be like. I also reminded him of the amazing experiences we’ve had connecting with the sales director at the McLaren dealership in Palo Alto, and how THAT dealership is so much more professional and deserving of business.
After another few mins of waiting we explained to the receptionist that we were going to leave. She apologized for our wait, and we assured her that she was perfect — it wasn’t her fault. We explained the situation to her, and she apologized profusely (again, not her fault).
So. We drove off in our $ 100k car and left what’s his name in the dust.
And the Alfa Romeo that we didn’t get to test drive — well, I guess the brand hasn’t broken their reputation for being unreliable. The fact that their brand new model was already in the shop being serviced for issues was the red flag we needed to keep our options open.
Bottomline — it’s not worth it. There are MUCH better options:
Looking for a two-​seater? Try out the new Corvette (yeah, shocking. Chevy has better customer service than this dealership), the sexy Acura R8, or Porsche 911.
If you are in the market for a higher-​end sedan try out a Tesla. The sportiness of their sedan will shock you. Much faster than my bMW Z4. Fun fact: Did you know the Tesla P85d is the fastest sedan in the world?
Aston Martin in Los Gatos is a great option, unless you are leasing (as they don’t offer lease incentives).
I would recommend Jaguar, but I hear those dealerships are very similar (I.e., lack customer service).
In the market for something more exotic (and can afford it?) Go to the McLaren dealership in Palo Alto for a truly beautiful exotic, and amazing customer experience. They are not pretentious like Ferrari, but you get as — if not more for your money. Also, they will actually treat you like a human when you walk through their doors. Their current/​prospective buyer events are also superior to any of the other events hosted by the high-​end dealerships in the Bay Area.

I have been to a few Maserati dealerships in Northern California.
Maserati of Walnut Creek has by far the largest inventory, professional staff and best service. Scott and Julia went above and beyond to get me the best deal while providing me with top notch service throughout the sales process which was easy and stress free.
I couldn’t be happier with my purchase and the overall experience. I have no doubt that I will service my new Ghibli at their service center.

This is not a review on a buying experience. This is a review on a service experience. I bought my car 2 yrs ago from a maserati dealer in Sacramento. Because I am a stickler on maintenance and my cars running great I hold vehicle service, service technicians, and service advisors to a much higher level than really anybody else at the dealership. Maserati of Sacramento completely failed in this area, from not being able to schedule an appointment, to me paying for work that was never actually done.
This month my car was due for a big service. Because of my past experiences with Sacramento I decided to do a little research to see if I could find a better dealership that provided better service. I found maserati of walnut creek and decided to look them up on Unilocal.Yes it had a very high review and several reviews about people talking about their buying experience, none the less I decided to give them a call. I originally spoke with Trevor on the phone, he was very polite and courteous. He was flexible with my schedule and was able to book me for my service in one phone call. This is not normal with Sacramento Maserati. After I dropped my vehicle off I received a call from Kyle, he called to confirm the vehicle was correct and the service that we were doing. While I was speaking with him I told him about my past experiences with Sacramento and how worried i was that this might be the same way. He assured me that they do not do business that way, I trusted but we have all heard that before.
Over the next few days I had called and spoken with Kyle everyday having questions for him or odd requests about my car. Each and every time he was available to speak with I didn’t have to leave a voicemail and wait for him to call back and if I asked a question that he wasn’t 100% he new the answer to he didn’t assume, he was able to find it and get the correct answer to me. He was a very honest and humble person to work with and because of this every time my maserati is due for service I will drive the 3 hrs round trip to come here, even if it is for something minor like an oil change.
Yes a buying experience is important. However, it’s how they take care of you and your vehicle after you purchase it is what is most important and that’s what I think people should really focus on. Because take it from me, after they have your 100k +. Some dealerships like Sacramento maserati don’t care about you or your car and that’s where maserati of walnut creek truly shines! Thanks guys!

Nathan was awesome!!! Three days prior to meeting Nathan I was dealing with this…
I was chatting with another Maserati dealer in the Bay Area and the guy was jerking me around. They could not get the inventory and the story kept changing and was trying to give me what I did NOT want. Who has time for that, three days later I got tired of it and called Walnut Creek.
Enter Nathan. I told him what I wanted and briefly texted him. He said he could make everything work. Done. In two minutes I had an application in my email. I asked if I could pick up my car the next morning at 10AM. Done. I arrived and my car was ready. I walked into finance and they were ready, I signed in 4 minutes. Done. I went over my car with Nathan. And then I was DONE!
I left Walnut Creek Maserati 15 minutes after I arrived. My brother in law, who has bought plenty of cars, was in awe and shock that it was so easy.
This is how it should be folks. I am a busy professional and need easy. No games, no gimmicks, just a great car and service. THANK YOU Nathan and Maserati of Walnut Creek!!! You have redefined the car buying experience!

I’ve purchased many cars in my past history — 2 BMWs, 3 Mercedes and each one of them, it was a mixed experience. I was expecting a better experience with Maserati Walnut Creek. The sales leader that worked with me was honest and upfront initially… because when the negotiations got heavy, things fell apart. What was «invoice» was all of a sudden «not invoice» and that there was a manufacturer’s invoice and a dealer invoice. What was «new», all of a sudden was at 400 odd miles. What was committed such as accessories, service coverage, was no longer part of the deal. Where I’m going with this is, a Maserati dealership shouldn’t be about «what was», and now «what is», but «This is what the deal is, and we would like you to have the best experience possible». I ended up buying the car because they had the only color and configuration I wanted in the entire country. That said, I have zero confidence in their sales strategy which is made to look «high end», when it fact it isn’t. There’s still a lot of training to do for the sales and service team, and I wish them the best.
I tried and calling and texting to discuss further with no avail. There has never been any follow-​up on my experience either. I really want to like this dealer, but it’s been a mixed experience.

I was in the market for Super Luxury car and visited various show rooms and test driven various brands/​models. I went to Walnut Creek to test drive a Maserati. Derek, the sales person at the dealership came out and started answering all my simple and basic questions patiently. Then we took the test drive of the vehicles. We settled on Ghibli. But I told them that I hate all my previous car buying experience and l am planning to employ a company who would do the negotiations on behalf of me for a simple fee. Derek was really great, he spoke to me at length to make me feel comfortable and promised me that my experience would be great with them. Derek then took me to meet with the manager of the showroom Angelo, to have a talk. Both of them realized I am not comfortable negotiating and requested me to just sit with them for 10 mins and they will offer the best experience.
I reluctantly did, to my surprise they showed me everything the car sales people employ to negotiate and told me that they will not do any of it. They presented the best offer I could imagine as the first offer. Then comes another shocker, the color I was looking for was not there. Angelo took me for a walk around the new inventory and asked me to pick a color. The one I liked was fully loaded Ghibli S Q4 2014.
Angelo made me the same deal we agreed on a Ghibli 2014. A fully loaded upgraded S Q4 for the price of Ghibli that too in 10 mins of negotiation… no way.
I am a proud owner of the Ghibli S Q4 2014 now. Derek and Angelo made it happen. To be fair to these guys, I had no appointment and was wearing jeans and a simple t-​shirt driving my Prius to the showroom. I got great reception, and they really made me, feel like a king.

My boyfriend got a Quattroporte in last summer, the salesman Derek was definitely a nice people. We are living in Oregon and wasn’t go to the dealership. He helped us with everything trough phone calls and text massages, from selected a right car to our new QP transported to Oregon. We are so appreciate about his work. I am here to recommend this dealership to all of you guys, with their wonderful customer service.

Derek the salesman did a great job, and I bought the car after a bit of a mix up with the financing (my fault really). However after having the car delivered I heard nothing. Hey, I just spent $ 130k on a new car. Perhaps a call to make sure it runs OK?

Went here to get my Ghibli S Q4 2015, the service from Derek is definitely awesome! Smooth transaction despite me living in Santa Clara, recommend this dealer than the rest! Happy that I got my new ride :) Definitely would recommend anybody who would like to get one!

I may be young, but I’ve owned 8 Porsche 911s new and old. And I’ve always been treated with respect and every Porsche dealer. I came in to see the Alfa 4c just for the heck of it. So I walked in and immediately I was profiled lol. A pimply faced kid walked up to me and asked what I wanted I said I wanted to see the 4c. I asked him to open it and he said ok. Then he says «don’t sit in it» wtf? Do I have Ebola or something? Then he says «we’re looking for the right buyer.» I can afford at least 5 of these even with your $ 36k markup over sticker. Screw this stupid dealership and that death trap little car. I’m sticking with PORSCHE. Sad enough my friend who’s white, 50 years old, and very wealthy had a similar experience with these shit faces. Except for him they said something retarded to the extent of «if you can’t afford it…» Who says that? Are you a salesperson or a jackass that has something to prove? So he took his 911 he was trading in and went across the street and traded for a Panamera instead of the POS quattroporte.

Went to Maserati of Walnut Creek, no pressure, worked hard to get paper work to me out of town. Easy to deal with. Great line of communication. Oh yes Nice car

First they ignored me. I can’t particularly blame them for that, I was wearing jeans and didn’t have an appointment.
Then the nice-​as-​can-​be, totally helpful «lot kid» started answering some basic questions for me. He knew the price ranges, model differences and had a real passion for the cars. How cool that the 19 year old guy who’s job it is to move things around, keep them clean, and do grunt work was the one to notice that I wanted help and come get me started when the sales guys were «too busy» standing around doing nothing.
Then I talked with a sales guy for a few minutes. I didn’t want to drive that day, just get an intro of product line up. I made it clear that if I liked what I saw, I would do my research and come back another time. He tried to increase my budget into the better model for almost 30% more money. ha ha. I expressed a few times what my budget range was, and that I wasn’t interested in the nicer model. I also wasn’t interested in a used car. Eventually my disinterest became simply being turned off about the whole situation. The sales guy started to get pushy. I told him I was going to go see what Mercedes had to offer. Then, in a very Italian way, he said «fine» and just walked away from me. I have to admit that it was amusing — but it was also downright rude to walk away from a customer.
So, 7 stars for the awesome «kid» (I mean that in the nicest way) who works the lot and negative stars for the actual sales schmuck.

If you’ve been to their dealership on North Broadway, you’ll be happy to learn that this is their *new* dealership location.
The proprietor, who also owns the Bentley showroom at the upper end of the parking lot, will break ground on a new showroom soon on the other side of the parking lot!
This will make room for all of the Maserati models to be properly displayed along North Main Street as well as allow for more guest parking.

Just opened; much better then where they were originally; the showroom was totally renovated and it looks great! Beautiful cars and beautiful dealership.
4−21−14: Drove past it this morning and noticed that the Maserati’s are already in the show room; in the building next to it are the Bentley’s.
4−22−14: Driving past I noticed against the wall, facing the window, a section of leather swatches for designing the interior seats, doors, roof and dash. The restaurant that used to be next to the dealership is completely gone and will probably be made to park new cars.

After seeing Maseratis on my drive to work two days in a row, I had to look around for something new.
Found it!
A new sales and service business, at the location formerly Jaguar. Maserati sure looks nice painted on their wall and the building across the way as well (on Central). And they’ve had some sexy cars in the parking lot and showroom. I imagine the building on Central will be for service and this location will be for sales.
They open officially on May 15^th, 2013, but there are lots of employees milling around already. Very friendly to talk to if you have any questions about the change of business, or are interested in purchasing a new car. :D
