Our kids have been taking swim lessons here and we really appreciate the patience of the swim teachers. It’s fun seeing them build the students confidence and make it fun!

DONOT go here on a weekday — there were 3 different camps here and it was super crowded. They have soda vending machines, but when I asked at the desk for change — she told me that they don’t give change because they don’t start out the day with enough change –wow — okay. There’s only a couple of spots with shade, — we got there when they first opened and claimed a shady spot — we were soon crowded in by people with no sense of personal space. The final straw was when my daughter told me the pool water tasted like blood — we left and won’t be back.

My kids have been taking swim classes here for years. Classes have too many students enrolled for in the lower level of swimming courses. Sit close to pool.3 teachers for 8 students would be more appropriate for lower level classes.

I’ve been to Larkey on a couple of occasions because Clarke Memorial was closed. I am not much of a fan of children and usually like having a lane for myself or with friends, so I was a little disappointed to find that it is mostly a small open pool with a ton of kiddos, which I guess, explains why it’s murky… This last time I was there, however, there were two lanes closed off. After waiting a bit, one finally opened up so the bf and I decided to get in. Now, it didn’t appear as though there were other adults waiting since most accompanied their small children and the one other person who was, asked to share the lane to which we happily agreed. I’m not super athletic and certainly not too great of a swimmer so I like to take my time, but I certainly do swim laps. Upon returning to where my bf was wading, I grabbed onto the dividing rope to catch my breath since it was too deep for me to stand. I hear a whistle and«please do not hang on the rope(or whatever).» I let go and hang onto my bf. 30 seconds later this same Nazi lifeguard blows her fuckin whistle and tells us to leave if we’re not swimming laps. Um, WTF bitch? It’s called taking a break and maybe she’d taken one to untwist her panties, she’d relax. I’m all for pool safety but chill out, seriously. –1 star ’cause her nasty attitude ruined my sun and fun. Other than that, it’s a great place for children and families and I love that there is bright green grass to lay out as well as a few big trees for shade. The other Walnut Creek Aquatics staff are great, both here and at Clarke, but I will only be returning if it’s the only pool open.
