Joe and Bryan are excellent analysts and communicators. 100% of their time and efforts were spent on us. They offered no unsolicited products or services. We left with a solid action plan for retirement. After reading retirement advice for years, I thought I had things dialed in pretty good. I was wrong or in reality the advice I was getting online was of poor quality. Joe and Bryan gave us some immediate action items that will pay off in spades when we do retire. I recommend JW Harrison unless you’re a CFP yourself.

My husband and I changed 3 investment advisory firms in the course of the past 15 years. They dutifully send us generic birthday cards once a year, while our portfolio was losing money or sitting flat. This is not the type of attention we were looking for. Apparently big name firms simply lost their ability to take care of their clients in a tailored meaningful way.

Like many others have already said here, I find Joe to be an incredibly insightful, astute, and trustworthy advisor. I really appreciate how much Joe really listens to first try and understand what your financial goals are — this sets the context for the advice he gives, which is highly personal.
I also love that while he knows money and investments inside and out, he doesn’t talk in jargon or abstract terms I don’t understand. He really knows how to «meet you where you are» in terms of your level of knowledge to help you understand options. Most recently I talked to about ideas around my primary home and investment property, and how those factored into longer term financial goals. I was impressed with the breadth of Joe’s expertise and the depth of his thinking on the topic.
I also really like that he has several different ways to engage with him (hourly v. fees for specific other types of services), which gives flexibility to either consult with him on smaller topics or to have him take a more direct role in managing money. I enthusiastically endorse Joe and look forward to working with him for many years to come.

Joe is wonderful to work with. He is extremely knowledgeable and adept. He is also a joy to spend time with. The most important trait we found in Joe was his ability to help us successfully navigate through our different financial philosophies. With his good humor and non-​judgmental demeanor, he helped us understand why we approach finances from different perspective and helped us see our financial picture clearly. Given that I get bored and frustrated in most financial conversations, it says a great deal that we really enjoyed our time with him and most importantly, came away with a great plan!

I have HIGH standards. Period. I expect a lot if I’m paying someone to provide me with a service (whether that be a restaurant to feed me, a dentist to x-​ray me, or an auto shop to motorize me… see my other Unilocal reviews.) That means if I’m going to put my money (not just a tooth or a car, my MONEY!) in someone else’s care, you can bet it isn’t going to go to just anyone. And for the last several decades that has meant its gone to no one, zero, zippo, not a one.
I have a feeling if Joe hadn’t decided to go into this business, I would have been managing my own money forever, which, unfortunately, means managing it sub-​optimally. But with Joe, I see green! There is truly no one in the world I would trust more with my money — and that’s on at least two fronts:
FIRST: I trust him implicitly, he is honest to the core, has the highest integrity possible. I know he will do what’s in my best interest, I don’t have to worry about any conflict of interest, I am in good hands.
SECOND: He has a stellar brain — he’s smart, quick, capable, competent, organized, strategic, intuitive, insightful, analytical, and financially savvy. And, personally, I think you need both these qualities in an advisor — you don’t want an honest one who doesn’t really know what to do with your money, and you don’t want someone who knows exactly what to do with your money but in their own self-​interest.
With Joe, you get Integrity + Smarts + a BONUS: bedside manner (if there were such a thing for financial advisors.) There’s really no one else you’d want to talk to when it comes to anything deeply important or personal. Joe provides great insight and great wisdom and is able to do so while being supportive, encouraging, affirming, and simultaneously, forthright, honest, and clear.

I’ve known Joe a long time professionally. We were peers for a while, until he got promoted. He was always getting promoted, because he’s so accomplished That’s the first thing you need to know about Joe: crazy smart and productive.
When I heard he was starting a financial planning business I rushed to get on his calendar. I thought: at last, someone I trust can give me some advice. I’ve had a few financial planners in the past, but they have never met my expectations along the axes of knowledge, trust, and proactivity.
The way I think singularly about Joe: if he asked me to, I would take all of my money, in cash, and hand it over to Joe in a suitcase. I would trust him completely, trust that he would have my best interests in mind, and trust that he would know what to do to grow that money. Joe treats this as an avocation, a callling, and it shows. His communication is careful, emphathic, and wise, perfectly calibrated to what you need to hear and the way *you* need to hear it. His advice considers your goals, your values, your risk style, which of course it should, but it’s way more comprehensive and considered than other planners I’ve worked with. He even offered to shop my insurance needs. The amount of research he did on my *complete* portfolio was impressive. The documents he prepared for me were highly personalized.
