History

Established in 2009.

After working for other DJ companies since he was a teenager Joshua Morris opened Golden Bay DJ in 2009. Since we opened our doors we have committed ourselves to our founding principle: providing the professional DJ experience at a reasonable rate. We don’t have any gimmicks, there’s no hidden fees, we lay it on the table as plain as day. We are always professional, always fun, and always reliable.

Hello everyone,

My name is Joshua Morris, I’m the owner of Golden Bay DJ Company. I got my start in DJing at a very young age, 11 to be exact. At 11 years old I began helping my mother at work, she was a DJ but she couldn’t carry all of the heavy DJ equipment by herself. After working for my mother, and then working for other local DJ companies, I was able to catch my dream and open Golden Bay DJ Company in 2010. I pride myself in my ability to make every event enjoyable for my clients and their guests.

Highly recommended! Josh DJed our wedding ceremony and reception in North Lake Tahoe and he was awesome! He was responsive to and attentive during planning communications. He had helpful suggestions, a great read on our guests, and was generally a dream to deal with.
We had many guests tell us that our wedding was hands down the most fun wedding they’ve ever been to and I attribute most of that to Josh (with a small amount to the open bar). Also, our photographer had worked a wedding with him before and upon seeing him show up to our ceremony said, «Oh, that guy is good!»
I highly recommend him for any type event and will definitely contact him for future DJ needs.

Josh is absolutely awesome! We hired him for our wedding on 10÷27÷12. It wasn’t your average wedding, as we had a costumed Hallowedding reception. From the moment I met Josh he was game for our crazy celebration. He was also one of the most affrodable DJs I spoke to. He put together a great array of music to set the tone during the different parts of the wedding. He was awesome at helping us out with our different activities like the games and such. We even asked him to dress up as dracula for his costume and being the easy going guy that he is, he did and it turned out amazing! I can’t say enough good things about him. A couple of my engaged friends told me after the wedding that they would be calling him for their weddings. If you are looking for an affordable, approachable, talented, kind and hardworking DJ, Golden Bay DJ is the way to go hands down in the bay area.

We (Stanford’s Bartender) worked with Josh’s company for a corporate event last week. His beats were amazing and everyone was dancing. Aside from a high level of professionalism, his ability to blend music to the mood and incorporate great MCing into the mix was impressive. We will definitely use Golden Bay DJ as our primary recommendation for music at our events going forward.

We just used Golden DJ for our daughter’s Bat Mitzvah. First, they were very accessible, returned calls, emails, etc. Conveniently accepted credit cards. They did a GREAT job at our party (13 year olds) — I was very impressed at the way they sort of «felt the mood» and switched things up if they didn’t feel the kids were excited enough. The music was great, the guys were great, completely painless and wonderful experience. I would SO HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE GUYS — totally professional, and just nice guys, would hire anytime!!!

I have recommended Golden Bay DJ Co to many friends, who have all used & loved them. Being a busy person who seems to always be planning some event it is important to have a vendor that I can tell what we need and consider it done. No need to micromanage here.
Recently Josh was DJ and Emcee of a charity fundraiser I attended, Chocolate Indulgence hosted by the Junior League of Oakland East Bay. We had a pretty wide range of ages and personalities, not a problem for Josh though. The vibe at the event was electric and everyone had a blast.
I would not use any other DJ, because in the past I had used the super cheese ball DJ and it really can spoil the night. Don’t take any chances, go with the best!

Josh did a fantastic job at Junior League of Oakland East Bay’s Chocolate Indulgence fundraiser. The playlist was perfect for the event, it really set the tone for the evening. He was organized, on time, efficient and very professional. I look forward to working with him again in the future.

I attended the Junior League of Oakland-​East Bay, Inc.‘s second annual Chocolate Indulgence fundraiser last month on Saturday 2⁄11 at Round Hill Country Club in Alamo where Josh was the event DJ. He did an amazing job! He kept the crowd entertained with fun, tasteful music. The music was inline with the crowd’s demographic and the event. He also made announcements throughout the course of the evening to the event guests. He was always courteous and professional! I would recommend him again and again!

Golden Bay Dj Co was wonderful to work with. My wife and I hired Josh for our wedding and he was there for us every step of the way and was willing to help with not only ideas for the music and feel of our wedding day, but he helped with ideas for coordinating out slide show, photo booth, and other highlights of the day that made it extra special. Josh is very personal, responds quickly, and very honest. He even gave us the recommendation for our venue and we loved our reception site. If I did it all again I would higher Golden Bay DJ in a second.

Josh is amazing! at the consultation he even said «gimme a few songs and i’ll create a playlist that will last the whole night!» Man, was he right! Kept the night flowing, especially when we (the bride and groom) weren’t really sure what we should next, he seriously made it soo easy! AND he is Really nice! He was helping out my bridesmaids with getting their drinks from the wait staff during dinner and helped me out with retrieving my clutch that i left behind on accident! Golden bay ahs reasonable price point for the amazing service you get! Mics, lights, energy! Perfect (Stay away from AMOS DJ’s!) GOLDEN BAY ALL THE WAY!

From start to finish, it was such a pleasure working with Josh for our wedding. He listened to what we wanted and executed it perfectly. He kept the dance floor full and played the right balance of slow and fast songs. Josh was a great help in recommending the right music for our ceremony since I didn’t have a clue. He kept us right on pace the whole night and we never felt rushed. Josh was great at rolling with last minute song changes and requests. There wasn’t a song he didn’t have. He really played a big part in making the ceremony special and the night fun.
