We are a full service Optometric practice — eye exams with state of the art equipment, contact lens evaluations, & Optomap digital retinal screening.

We carry a large inventory of luxury brand name frames and sunglasses. Our licensed Opticians have extensive knowledge in the latest digital lens technology and offer personal assistance in selecting your fashionable and functional eyewear.

History

Established in 1994.

Broadway Eyeworks was the brainchild of Dr. Lawrence Mock and his wife Suzi. Suzi’s background was in Fashion Design and she wanted to pair her knowledge and love of fashion into a unique Optical Boutique. Their love of travel, especially to Europe, keeps them in tune with fashion trends. Dr. Mock was in private practice both in Union City and Walnut Creek since 1974. In 1994, they had the opportunity to open their dream Optical boutique at Broadway Plaza Shopping Mall. They were there for 13 great years and recently moved to a new spacious location only 1 block away and still in the downtown Walnut Creek area. This beautiful new location offers clients a spacious and luxurious environment to select their eyewear. A staff of highly experienced Optometrists and Opticians are available for all your visual needs.

Dr. Lawrence Mock received his Doctorate of Optometry from the University of California, Berkeley in 1973. He was in private practice in Union City and Walnut Creek. In 1994, he established Broadway Eyeworks at the Broadway Plaza Shopping Mall in downtown Walnut Creek and remained there for 13 years. He then moved his practice to a much larger location about 1 – 2 blocks away from the mall, but still in downtown Walnut Creek. His associates include Dr. Liane Rumsey and Dr. Michaela Chavez, both graduates of the University of California, Berkeley. All Doctors are members of the American Optometric Association and the California Optometric Association. Also on staff are ABO certified opticians to help you find just the right pair of glasses in a spacious, luxurious environment. Outside prescriptions are welcomed and we accept VSP and MES vision plans. Optical purchases are also qualified purchases for most flex spending accounts.
