Physical problems exist beyond the body, impacting many aspects of a person’s life.

With our help, you can reclaim your body’s potential, and learn skills to sustain your well-​being. At our clinics you will learn not only to take care of your injury, but how to work smart, and how to manage overall health. We do not treat an area without addressing the rest of the system. Therefore ankle sprains, elbow tendonitis, and sacroiliac dysfunctions are all addressed through full body assessment. We separate ourselves from other healthcare professionals by looking at the complete picture and not only the specific injury that you may have. Physical therapy that treats in a holistic manner is most beneficial to patients.

Established in 1985.

After graduating from Northwestern University/​Feinberg School of Medicine Programs in Physical Therapy, Hiten Dave started his private practice, Pleasanton Physical Therapy in Pleasanton, CA in 1985 and another clinic, Back on Track Physical in Walnut Creek, CA in 2004.

Hiten is a 1984 graduate of Northwestern University/​Feinberg School of Medicine Programs in Physical Therapy. He started his private practice in Pleasanton, CA in 1985 and another clinic in Walnut Creek, CA in 2004. He has taken numerous continuing education courses in learning to treat difficult/​chronic musculo-​skeletal problems. Other areas of specialization includes treating feet, spine, headaches including tension and migraine and TMJ. Mr. Dave’ has genuine care for his patients and is evident from the outcomes his patients achieve at the end of their visit. Mr. Dave’ has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association including the California Chapter since 1985.

Back on Track is an AWESOME facility!!! Rotator Cuff surgery and physical therapy is no fun and the work getting back to normal if painful. I am so back to normal and have to thank my therapist Avani (not sure if spelled right) for her help. She was kind, gentle and showed how much she cared about her patient. Also, the Receptionist, Victoria, always made you feel totally welcome and always knew the names of the patients when they walked in the door. I cannot thank Back on Track and its staff enough for helping me get back to 100%.

Back on Track PT is a great facility. I had foot surgery in May ‘15 and was non weight bearing on my foot until August ‘15. I came into Back on Track using a walker in September ‘15. Avani was my PT & she is calm, professional, & reassuring. She worked magic on my foot showing me exercises and hands-​on treatment on my foot. Now I am able to walk on my own. Avani is always so patient & always takes time to answer my questions. I can even email her during the week with questions. I’ve had PT before at other facilities & I tell you Avani is by far the best PT I have ever had.

Dr. Hiten is a magician when it comes to making back pain disappear. I’ve had chronic lower back issues on and off and Dr. Hiten was able to diagnose the root cause and solve for it in few short visits. His techniques range from traditional to alternative making for a very holistic and effective treatment.
This review would be incomplete without singing praises of Kim who’s not just a fantastic PT assistant but runs the practice very efficiently.

Hiten and his staff are very professional, courteous and communicative. I was rehabbing from shoulder surgery and the work they did was great. They were sensitive to my limitations but still pushed me enough that I made significant progress. I would recommend them to my friends and family in a heartbeat.

Had total knee replacement on both knees on May 2015.
In 3 months I am back to kicking again, thanks to Mr Hiten and his wonderful staff at Back on Track.
Excellent service and care! I strongly recommend everyone to check them out.
Update on my knees. I have sent this video to Dr. Hiten and would like to post them here. Video was taken about 3 months after bilateral knee replacement.

After ignoring constant knee pain for 6 months, I finally decided to get treatment and was referred to Back on Track. Prior to seeing Hiten, I couldn’t walk without constant pain. My mobility was severely reduced. Hiten and his team are spectacular and really took care of me every step of the way through my patellar tendonosis recovery.
I LOVE Hiten. He has a wonderful sense of humor and an expert understanding of the body. We worked on reducing inflammation, and his team did this with heat/​ice, stimulation, lasers, ultrasound and massage! I felt like I was at a spa! :) In addition, Hiten gave me exercises to do and recommended simple things I can do to stop the problem from recurring (massage, orthotics, stretching, pilates).
After 6 weeks of physical therapy, I am able to walk largely pain free! And best of all, they gave me the tools to use after physical therapy is over to continue to strengthen my body so this problem doesn’t come back.

I wish to thank the staff at Back on Track for their insightful diagnosis of my leg pain. They found the root cause and used a variety of treatment methodologies that significantly remove the nerve irritation in my leg. Hiten and Stephanie and their colleagues are kind, good listeners of my pain descriptions, and very attentive during treatment. Simply Outstanding! Don’t waist your time or money on anyone else!
Utmost professional facility, effective, knowledgeable, clean, friendly, no rush in and out treatment. Great etiquette, after care and follow up via e-​mail and use of an online
log in for personalized Home Exercise Program.
I went to my Massage Therapist, had X Rays taken and adjustments from Chiropractor and went to my Family Doctor. All for not.
Came to Back on Track (friend referred me) within 5 Minutes and 1 adjustment later the pain was simply gone!
Short of 3 months of not being able to put my socks on for myself, this is as close to a Miracle as I can imagine. I LOVE my completely personalized treatment sessions,
and only wish I would have come sooner.

I first used Back on Track two years ago to rehab a plantar fasciitis injury. I am completely healed from the injury, and still perform the rehab exercises the therapist taught me.
In November, 2014, I injured a tendon in my shin while cycling. I sought treatment from Nicole at Back on Track. She administered a series of deep tissue massage treatments that were extremely helpful. She also identified muscle imbalances in my leg, and prescribed strengthening exercises to address these weaknesses. I am back on the bike and training as before the injury.
If you have an injury issue, I highly recommend the dedicated and capable staff at Back on Track.

I’ve had 4 surgeries and many physical therapy sessions but, never one so effective and professional like the ones I’ve experienced at ‘Back on Track ’
Stephanie is by far the best therapist I’ve ever worked with, she made me work hard and as a result my recovery was impressive.
23 days after my knee surgery I climbed Mt. Diablo for 3 hours with no pain !

My experience at Back On Track was fabulous. The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. Verna and Joyce were so helpful with scheduling and working with my schedule. The main person I worked with was Stephanie. She is so energetic and made the therapy enjoyable. I also worked with Jonathan, Rachael and Hiten. Hiten Dave is a master of healing, it’s that simple.
We read prior reviews on Unilocal to decide which PT provider to choose after my 17 year old son had a large disk protrusion from a bike accident. MRI showed it displacing the nerve to his left leg, and he was experiencing significant and debilitating chronic pain. After almost a year of doctor visits, two cortisone injections which only brought temporary relief, we were faced with a surgery he didn’t want to have. Doctors said surgery would be the only option and we were so discouraged. We asked Hiten to help him avoid the surgery and WOW, there are no words to describe how awesome the results have been!
Regular sessions at Back on Track, targeted exercises and amazingly, vitamin therapy have given my son his life and mobility back in short order! At our most recent session, when checking range of motion, he kept exclaiming that he finally could move his leg like he hadn’t been able to for over a year! He is 99% pain free at this point! Went to his Senior Ball and stood/​danced for hours when he never could have done that just months earlier; standing for more than a few minutes hurt him terribly before Hiten’s wonderful, compassionate therapy.
Hiten has changed our life, this is an understatement. We can never express our gratitude adequately. The other staff at Back on Track are also amazing: professional, caring, friendly, effective! We would recommend this office to anyone of any age who needs physical therapy.

Hiten Dave and the whole staff at Back on Track are skilled, caring, and generally awesome! They are practicing state of the art physical therapy and then even for difficult situations Hiten has some amazing techniques that were able to deliver results for me where none have before.
If you’re in the East Bay this is where you should go for physical therapy. These guys are really nice but the bottom line is they get results. So glad I found Back on Track!

I went to Hiten Dave for physical therapy after injuring my ankle while playing basketball. He did a great job treating me and showing me different exercises to help my ankle heal quickly. His staff was friendly and supportive and the office was clean.
Overall I enjoyed the experience and recommend Back On Track Physical Therapy to everyone and will surely tell my teammates all about my experience.

Where do I start. I started coming here after destroying my leg and suffering nerve damage back in January. I was referred here by my surgeon who said he’s heard good things. Verna, the office manager, took on the task of getting my insurance company to cover my needs. She was able to do it with great effectiveness and I started therapy with Hiten Dave. Hiten was very knowledgeable and really explained the entire process to me. I was first treated for the pain following surgery with many of the tools and techniques they employ here. Once that phase was over, the real difficult stuff began.
I had severe nerve damage and as a result I suffered muscle atrophy and drop foot. This is where back on track really sets it’s self apart from the rest.
I began strength training at the start of my visits to combat the muscle loss. Jonathan, who is very energetic and has a great understanding of human mechanics, helped me regain strength and establish new body mechanics to make walking with foot drop possible.
During all my sessions (over 40) I was always encouraged by Kim (hiten’s wife and jack of all trades) and Alexa who run the office and patient experiences. They knew how I was progressing and would always offer motivation which goes along way.
Hiten Dave worked with my progress and pushed me closer to my goals at each visit. Ive been to therapy in the past and never had someone become so involved in my recovery. He would regularly communicate with my surgeon and relay where he feels my progress is and should be. Hiten Dave uses many methods of therapy but above all that is compassion for his patients.
I will recommend this place to anyone looking for a place that wont just tell them to stretch, ice, heat and repeat. I’ve seen people come in to heal pains they feel while swinging a golf club to people who couldn’t walk or worse. Positive reassurance, motivation, personalization, and extensive knowledge of the human body is the reason for my 5 star’s!
Keep up the good work guys! Oh and did I mention the free candy!!!

My doctor referred me to Hiten Dave’ (Physical Therapist) — as I was in considerable pain for nearly a year and unable to stand for more than 10 minutes at a time. I was expecting to spend many hours in pain try to «work through it».
Long story short — on the 3rd of 6 sessions (two weeks from the day we started) the pain went from about an 8 of 10 to a 1 of 10 and was barely noticeable.
This is a well run team of professionals who know their business! Clean comfortable office in Walnut Creek — and trained professionals who work to help you get better.
