Alice’s Montessori Learning Center

After my older daughter outgrew the nearby daycare we ADORE (Sunny Town Family Daycare @
. Please do check them out, if you have wee ones), we brought her to nearby Alice’s.
She loved her time at Alice’s, and our youngest now attends – and loves – the school, as well.
Having 2 daughters there – with 2 different personalities – I can definitely say:
The children are exposed to a wide variety of subjects.
Both went to Alice’s with no anxiety, no dread, no hesitation. They were happy and engaged the moment they got there.
The staff are great – always happy, positive, and eager to chat with you about your child
Also, let me state that we live 2 towns away (in a very family-​friendly area, with many great preschools to choose from), and – due to the great job they do there – have chosen to drive out of our way to keep out youngest in the care – and environment – we trust.

My daughter and I moved across country from Miami to settle in Walnut Creek. One major reason for choosing WC was Alice’s. From the very first phone call, I could feel the warmth and nurturing environment of the school. Here we are, a full school year later, and my daughter’s progress on all levels is remarkable. Her reading and writing, social skills, vocabulary, motor skills and work knowledge have grown immensely.
One of my favorite things about Alice’s is the well-​rounded nature of the curriculum — there is plenty of play time, dancing, music, and study of other cultures and geography to complement the robust academic core. All of the teachers work long hard hours and are truly dedicated to the welfare of the children. Also, the fee structure is great for working parents, one flat fee for a full day that goes from 7am to 6pm.
I could not have made a better choice for my daughter’s first school year in California. Two thumbs up!

It would be impossible for me to overstate the positive feelings I have regarding Alice’s Montessori and the benefit it’s provided my two sons this past year.
From the moment we first visited to tour the facility and meet the staff, we felt at-​ease and knew instantly that this was the school we wanted our children to attend. As a teacher myself, I was very critical while evaluating prospective schools for our sons to attend. There was nothing alarming about Alice’s on my visits and there has been nothing that has raised concerns during our time there.
The teachers are friendly and demonstrate care and patience to all children. We are greeted warmly in the mornings at drop-​off and then are given a full account of our sons’ day at school when we pick them up.
The growth in vocabulary our sons demonstrated was almost instant, as was the improvement they showed in non-​verbal communication, giving us confidence that they are being exposed to an impressive and age-​appropriate curriculum at the school.
I fully and unconditionally recommend Alice’s to anyone who is looking for schooling options for their children.

This place must be in high demand, and I guess, by that token, quite good. But what I don’t understand is, why they don’t think of calling parents BEFORE giving their space up to someone else. I moved my tour of the school from Tuesday to Friday and I get a call on Wednesday saying that the space has already been given to someone else and that my child will be put on waiting list. The courteous thing to do would be to call me before giving up the space and confirm with me if I am still interested in enrolling my child. I even spoke to them saying I wanted enrolled ASAP — we moved from the Peninsula and my daughter stopped school there. I wanted her to start in the new place as early as possible. I was told that earliest start would be Aug 1^st, due to all the paperwork involved. And now I hear they have given the space to someone else. Did I not come across as a respectable parent with a child in need of immediate education?? What am I missing here?

My son has attended Alice’s for two years. We have had a wonderful experience there. The facility has enjoyed several upgrades since my son started and I have never noticed any rudeness between employees. The overall atmosphere is nurturing and kind. I would recommend Alice’s to anyone!

My child attended this school for nearly 3 years and the school is superior in all respects. We interacted with most of their employees on a daily basis and they all seemed happy, and they all treated our child with great care, and provided her a safe and happy experience, as well as an excellent pre-​K education. Several friends of ours had their own kids at this place, and they were all very satisfied. Ask for references from the parents, you will not be disappointed.
I don’t know who Lexie is, but she could not be more wrong.
