1515 Restaurant & Lounge

We came for happy hour at 3:00 pm, we were very hungry and thirsty. There were very little customers around. We were able to get a table and service was very quick. We ordered sangria and margarita, both were very good especially the sangria. The appetizers were awesome. As we devoured the sliders and boneless chicken wings with the shoe string fries. For the price the quality the atmosphere drinks food and service were terrific. Would make 1515 a regular happy hour stop all the time.

Went with a girlfriend to grab some grub and a few drinks on a Saturday night. We had a reservation which we were a little late for and we were still seated promptly. I had a crab tower of some kind that was very refreshing and filling and the presentation was very artful. I went for dessert because they had my favorite Crème Brûlée! It was good but the biscotti type cookie in the middle was unnecessary as it didn’t really add anything and I didn’t like that it then took some of the hardened sugar off with it. Luke was a very helpful and friendly server who we enjoyed our interaction with. I would recommend visiting.

Really good food – try the Mac n cheese. But it’s really load in the evening (it’s also a bar), so you have to sit outside if you want to have a conversation. Outdoor tv is legit tho.

My friend loves 1515 so I went there with her and some of her friends. The hostess was very accommodating when we had to switch from a smaller to bigger table. I had the fish tacos and gnocchi, both of which were yummy. The raspberry lemon drop was not overly alcoholic, which was great for me as I like my drinks on the sweeter side. Only downsides are the prices and slow service.

This should I say a make up reveiw for the last several times I was there. So one time I went here Veronica was my server and I need to remember what I ordered that time, but I had fun cause there is that song from the 80’s called. .Veronica…Veronica was cool about that a really fun server to.
I have had great experiences at this restaurant next up is Mandy.
Mandy is a beautiful brunette most restaurants in WC are slammed on the weekends. This time I had the grilled artichoke and a total super yums, I had not had artichoke in years and it was sure great stuff and I was able to. Have a large seating area to myself in the back.
Next up we have Kiana and a hot Saturday nite and every place in WC is busy. I noticed a certain server beforehand and this beautifu1 server happened to me my server it was a great night to be outside, and even though the beautiful Kiana hasn’t been working there to long I never would have known. I also met another beautiful server last night her name is Micayla. Then I see the owner outfront he is an older gentleman and has a big huge smile on his face. Business is going well. I will be back.

I’m giving this place 3 stars simply because of the service. Went here last Saturday with the bestie for lunch happy hour. I believe their happy hour is an everyday basis type of thing. The menu is extensive, ranging from pizza, Mac n cheese, tacos, etc.
The bartender made my drink just right and the food was of good quality for its cheap prices. It was difficult to enjoy my meal w/​my bestie being that they served her while I was just finishing up mine. The waiter hardly checked on us as well. After picking up the tab the waiter took forever to return and business wasn’t even boomin’.
I paid for my meal with cash and rushed out after being aggravated by the service that I failed to realize I was missing $ 10 from my change. Luckily the issue got resolved the same day. Just seems their service is so unthoughtful/​careless, so I can care less about returning.

Luke was AMAZING. And the food was great too! My boyfriend and I came here for dinner. I had the prime rib which was good and he had a halibut special in a strawberry sauce. He ate his entire plate in less than 10 minutes because he loved it. We shared the mac and cheese truffle which was insanely good.
But really this review is for Luke. He was the best waiter I have ever had. He was attentive and proactive and funny. My tip for you is to ask to sit at one of his tables.

Came here on Friday night for a friend’s birthday.
The food was great, but a little bit pricey though. Service was very slow. It was very busy, so I get that.

My cousin took me out to dinner for my birthday.
It was a nice warm night were we could sit outside and watch the Warriors game. It gets pretty busy so make sure you make a reservation!
For starters we had calamari. It was a far cry from family portion but was delicious. They even included frying the tentacles. We also tried the macaroni and cheese, plain. Oh my god! It was super good!!!
I had the lamb chop medium rare. The red sauce that they made with it was perfection together. The carrots and beans were nice too. My brother ordered the mixed seafood. It was okay, but the cook on it was spot on.
My cousin ordered tuna tartare and it was alright, but it was fresh. Her bf ordered the bass. He didn’t finish it, I don’t know if he ended up liking it.
We also had some shots and a pitcher of their sangria. Their sangria is super yummy and it was really strong.
The service was okay. I’d probably stop by again to watch the game and come for drinks. Maybe even stay for dinner.

My friend, Jen and I set on the patio drinking a mango mojito (it was made with real nectar) and my friend ordered some strong pink drink. I felt a little buzzed after. We also ordered calamari. It was crunchy and the sauce that came with it mixed well with their version of cocktail sauce– every restaurant does it different.

We came here for a lovely Saturday lunch after my gfs parents gave me a large gift certificate for this place for Christmas. My gf has had a good meal there and so has her parents-​I had eaten here in 2013 and did not have a good experience.
We sat down at 1 pm on a Saturday outside. I immediately stated that this place reminded me of something on bar rescue. All the workers were just staring at the people sitting outside but no service.
After 13 mins an ego driven brunette waits on us and takes drink orders– I had a standard mojito.
By 1:20 now the drink comes delivered by a blonde woman I believe a bartender. Th mojito tastes disgusting-​wtf
At 1:35 a bus boy sees we are annoyed with no service and takes our order– two hamburgers– 1:50 I am cracking jokes to my gf how crappy the service is. I could
Make two burgers on a Forman grill and get it faster.
The people that sat down next to us walk out. We decide to also walk out.
The bus boy chases after the other people to get them
To come back. We were not.
Don’t waste your precious time here. I like supporting small business but this place needs a ton of training and attitude adjustments.
I forgot to mention a clueless manager that walks over to our table at 1:25 and asks us if we are only drinking here and walks away didn’t ask us a single question.
What a joke

The food was great and the portion sizes were decent. However, service was very slow. It took very long to have our order taken and served. We had to ask for water refills. Also, it is very very dark. I like seeing what I am eating. The seating arrangement with different sections makes it very cramped.

I liked that they had french toast for $ 10, however I’ll pay $ 2 more and get a bigger serving.
It was a snack so I ordered a side of crispy bacon. Typically for french toast I expect the Texas toast, not sliced bread which is what this was. Good, but tiny.
I had the pomerita as my drink which was a pomegranate margarita in a martini glass. The drink cost as much as the food and wasn’t bottomless.
I went here for a friend’s birthday but I probably won’t be back as it’s not in my area and it wouldn’t be worth the trip.
Service was very spotty with three people assisting our table, yet none were able to get a simple mimosa for one of the girls. She didn’t have a drink for half of her meal and told at least two people.
Parking is street metered parking, doesn’t matter what day. At least you can pay y credit card.

«INTENTIONAL DECEPTION»
Went to Happy Hour last night and was told «I could not use one of their gift certificates» for happy hour payment. It is not noted on the gift certificate or happy hour menu, that they do not except gift certificates as payment for happy hour.
Be aware of this if you intend to buy a gift certificate from them or Costco.
We were informed by the manager that the owner has received multiple complaints and not remedied the situation.
Shame on them!!!

Who the hell hired this guy?! I come to Walnut Creek 2x monthly for business. The best Über ride EVER (thank you Alex in the Porsche, and not due to car/​SUV) ended here — I try different places — I like local — non chain stuff — but I digress. Let me get this out of the way: the French Dip was just FINE. Pretty good really. Now on to the service: Anyway walk in, sit at the bar, GS game on — now I get home town enthusiasm but when you’re the bartender — freaking pay attention to the clientele not the game. 1) Had to ask for a menu. 2) had to ask for EVERY beer 3) had to ask for utensils to eat with. WTF. It’s just, well a new low for a bar tender. As I’m typing this into the review he has his back to the room watching the Sacramento Kings game. Not good. YOU SUCK

Decent quality dinner bar, fairly pricy but the food is really delicate and delicious. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, especially if you can get the outside seat near the fireplace. This is our 3^rd time here, definitely go with Tuna Tartare if you like some sashimi-​style appetizer! (We ordered it 3 times already!) I had ordered Prime Rib French dip on 2 separate occasions, the the quality varied. One was ¹⁰⁄₁₀ delicious, the other was slightly burnt on the sides and the fries were over fried…
Favorites:
Tuna Tartare ($ 17) — small plate appetizer — fresh diced ahi tuna with mango and avocados
Prime Rib French dip ($ 15) — juicy, served with horseradish and sweet potato fries!
Other orders:
Crab cakes ($ 15) — starter — 3 small crab cakes coated in a THICK layer of batter, barely any crab or seafood filling… The seasoning sauce wasn’t great either

Not what it once was back in its heyday.
Location is still great but service and food have suffered. Sadly so have upkeep and cleanliness based on our last two visits.
Plenty of other options around where they don’t just rely on rep and location. We may try again but not for a while.

The food here was delicious. I decided to give it 4 stars instead of 5, however since our waiter took quite a long time to bring us our water and take our order. I enjoyed the oysters and tuna tartare and will definitely be coming back. My entrée was the grilled seafood dish. Many restaurants have good appetizers but their entrée fail my taste tests. The ambiance is good. The price is on the higher side. I went there with my fiancé and it was a good place for a nice, relaxing dinner.

I’ve been here a few times. Service and food have always been excellent. Prime rib Mondays are awesome!!!

Hubby had his graduation party here with a group of his friends and it was a pretty nice venue. Food was good. And the staff was pretty friendly and on top of our orders. They booked and closed off the 2^nd floor of the restaurant/​lounge for the party and though it was quite $$$ it was a very good deal from what i heard. If you need a place for a party event, give 1515 a try. I dont think we will be out here again since we do not live in the area. But it was a fun night. Only issue i had was that parking was horrible on a Friday night (not their fault) but if you have a lot of friends… this was a pain to drive around and fight for parking…

I find it amusing that people complain about the most ridiculous things about this place. Missing the happy hour menu because you brought a large group with a toddler. Complaining that the waitstaff didn’t personally connect with you? Lonely much? I came by for a late lunch recently and had a great experience, start to finish. When I walked in I was greeted nice and friendly, sat down immediately. The waitress was nice, told me about the daily special, checked on me just the right amount. The food was really good. Fresh oysters, fried ravioli, prawn tacos. They didn’t fill my beer all the way to the top of the glass but that might be being overly picky. I like this place. The food and drinks are delicious. The rest is gravy. Check it out!

Delcious Brunch and great for Groups!

I have been a patron of 1515 for many years and I have to say it’s not only the best bar in walnut creek!!! The food is also really great! I use to love to come and hang out on the weekends for drinks which was a blast. now that I’m a little older I love to come here to watch games and eat! If your looking for a weekend place to have brunch and catch a game there is no place better than 1515 in walnut creek!

I want to preface this review by saying that this used to be my FAVORITE place to go for dinner or happy hour. In fact, earlier this year for my birthday which was in March, my sister and my mother and I all spent 3 hours here having apps and drinks and we spent a good deal of money. I have always recommended it to people and to my customers which due to my latest experience (of mere minutes ago) I will stop immediately.
After my three year-​olds birthday party my immediate family (five adults and one toddler) thought we would stop for a happy hour before heading home.
We walk through the doors and the hostess says we can either sit at a table on one side or sit at couches in the lounge. We decided since there were so many of us and a child that we would go with the table to keep things organized. They gave us regular menus and made no mention of their happy hour. When a waitress finally asks for our drink order I asked her for the happy our menu and she tells me «we don’t serve the happy menu on this side, only in the lounge». We were not told that we had to sit in the lounge to order off the happy hour menu, which we told the waitress. I asked if we could then love to the lounge (remember we were originally offered seating in the lounge) and she returned saying there wasn’t room and we could wait if we wanted.
Obviously we left.
I have been here MANY MANY times before and there has never been a limitation on where they serve the happy hour menu before. I don’t know when this came up but this is also WAY too small a place to have that kind of rule. They don’t have near enough indoor seating. They should have given us the happy hour menu from the beginning and definitely should have given it to us when we asked or when there wasn’t even seating in the so called «designated happy hour area»
I am extremely disappointed with my experience here and I will not b going back.

I was hesitant to come here based on some if the reviews, but I am glad I did!
My parents and I came here for happy hour and had a great time. Drinks were delicious, service was great and the food was awesome. The wait staff worked well together to help each other.
We had gift cards that we wanted to use up and were worried that we would have to come here again to use them all, but now we can’t wait to go back!

The drinks are pretty well made. But here’s the bad stuff:
1. Staff are nice but impersonal.
2. The reason I came here is because they have a patio with a tv on it and I wanted to watch a football game while outside. Now they tell me that they won’t turn that tv on because it’s too cold out. It’s currently 50 degrees and I know that tvs work at this temperature. They say no one wants to be on the patio when it’s this cold. Well I’m here and telling them that I want to do exactly that and still they say no. 50 degrees is not that cold.
3. The layout sucks.
They’re probably still in business due to the great location. I won’t be coming back

I have to say I haven’t been to 1515 in for some time now because they got rid of lychee martini which we have all fell in love with and would go to 1515 for it so after they got it off their menu we stopped going there. Yesterday we had a Christmas party there. The food was much better than before. It kind of sucked before. I had the mussels which the mussels itself were great but the sauce was lacking something. I’m a mussels lover and I get them a lot in restaurants. This sauce is ok. It’s lacking flavor that should be there or maybe another spice is overpowering it. I’m not sure. The toasted bread that comes with it had lots of cheese on it. Great touch but do we really have to fatten America more? How about making dishes little bit more healthier? You will be shocked how many people will come if you promote healthy yet good tasting meals. Add organic choices and add some healthy juices and smoothies.
1515 started out great but went downhill over the years. You can see the sales are declining and it’s always empty. It needs «The Profit» show lol. New management and new strategy.
The location is great. You have a potential to be great yet you choose to be mediocre just like the others around you. Why?
Last thing get rid of the spot lights! They are terrible in pictures or dim them down or point them elsewhere. We all have stupid shadows in our Christmas pictures because of the lighting there. Next year we are going to Sasa!

This place has the BEST crab cakes!!! I’ve yet to find another restaurant that makes them better than 1515… I would come here just for the crab cakes :)

Shoutout to Veronica for handling the shit show of tonight. My friends and I came here around ¹⁰³⁰⁄₁₁ for drinks. Of course, the upstairs bar is crowded on a Saturday night.
Although we waited for a while for our drinks, I patiently waited until Veronica was free to handle my group. She had to deal with these two very impatient, rude-​ass, Asian couple who thought waving a card in her face who get her attention. Veronica professionally handled them while serving a private group/​customers. Those idiots even stole from said private party, and I felt embarrassed because people thought I was their friends (like hell, I almost dropped kicked their asses).
Despite that couple, Veronica handled herself and the bar chaotic situation professionally. Thanks for taking care of me and my group! She quickly handled my long order of three shots of Fireball, one Sierra Nevada, one Race car, two Midori sour/​and a Redbull. Would come here again because the bartenders are awesome!!!

Second time I have dinner at 1515. Little do people know is that they have pretty good seafood entrees here. Was a real good experience overall, I give 3.75 to 4 stars for the food & service, not more though due to the venue’s lack of character, Here’s are some more details : —
Came in on a Wed night and took our pick of table, decided to sit indoors. Our waiter was Pat and he did a pretty good job. For beverages ordered the Moscow Mule and Casmigo Classic, both tasted great only the mule was not wearing it’s popular copper body armor :(.
For appetizer, ordered the ½ dozen Kumamoto oysters. They are small in size but tasted great! I highly recommend them.
For the main meal we both selected dishes from the sea, The Mixed Sea Food & Halibut platters. Mixed Sea food had a few juicy scallops, prawns, sea bass sitting in a lemon caper sauce. Grilled vegies, and polenta on the side.
This is a pretty big meal and I shared most of it. The scallops melted in my mouth and the prawns were slightly cook which I like, Sea bass it was fresh and all tasted good.
Desert was the Crème Brulee, very good, not too sweet.
The bar was pretty busy, a crowd was having lots of fun there by their cheers & laughter. It can get very busy here on the weekend too. Overall fun place to hang out & mingle.

The 1515 has a great happy hour in Walnut Creek. Outside sitting seating plus a large crowd enjoying the drinks and appetizers. On a warm day this is a great place to have a Mojito and sit outside on the patio.
My co-​workers and me filled-​up on the bruschetta and calamari. Both flavorful and the bruschetta did not have an abundance of garlic that is drowned out the tomatoes and olive oil. The 1515 features Hangar One vodka specials that I will definitely try on my next visit.

This place was bumpin’ on a Saturday night. You have a choice of going upstairs or downstairs. I didn’t go upstairs so I’m not sure if there is a difference. However, later on through the night there was a queue to go upstairs. So I guess if you want to party, you go upstairs.
Food and drinks: Came for drinks. I got the 1515 cosmo and my friend got a sangria. They were nice.
They have a large menu. We ordered fried ravioli, which definitely tasted like it came out of a frozen bag. ½ dozen oysters and ½ dozen oysters Rockefeller. Those were much better.
Ambiance: We sat outside and it was prime people watching. Taxis, lyfts, über cars were either picking up or dropping off the entire time we were there. It made for really fun people watching. «You’re gonna wear that? «Her boob is gonna pop out of that top at any second!»
Service: It was attentive but you could tell that the server was having a bad night so she didn’t air friendliness. I don’t really blame her. Who knows how many drunken d’bags already tried something with her by the time we got there.
Overall, this is the place to party in WC. I would not come here for the food (how I rate this place) but definitely if you want a really lively night.

Anyways I purchased the Groupon ($ 74.99 for two $ 50 gift cards). The Groupon states that you must exchange your voucher for gift cards within four months of purchase. I called to see if I was able to use it the same day I came in to exchange and the answer was yes. I made reservations last night for a group of four at 530pm. We arrived about 510pm and checked in. They were able to seat us right away even though we were early. Instead of exchanging my voucher for the gift cards, I was able to use it as if it was any other Groupon voucher.
Drink:
Margarita — nothing special about it… It was a margarita
Appetizers:
Scampi — SO GOOD! The sauce is to die for. I wanted to lick it off the plate
Grilled Artichokes — my first time having artichokes and to be honest, I don’t see the point. Haha it seems like such a waste. There was barely any «meat»
Soup of the day — lobster bisque, like any seafood chowder you order, there’s about a pinky enough of lobster. In other words, tasted like chowder

Lamb Chops — those were seriously thee smallest lamb chops I’ve ever seen. They were so skinny but still very good. My mom thought they were a bit gamey
Pork Ribs — advertised as a small plate but it was a pretty big, small plate. My mom had it as an entrée and she has enough to bring home left overs
Jambalaya — we were forewarned that it is very spicy and we were very disappointed. Not only was it not spicy, it has the weirdest after taste. I couldn’t pin point the taste
Verdura Pollo — very creamy. The right amount of portion with a generous amount of chicken.
Desserts were offered but we were stuffed. Very good, attentive service. Our water glasses were always filled. My total tab came up to $ 145 + $ 20 gratuity.

Amazing food. Awesome vibe. 1515 is modern chic with plenty of seating inside and out. Fully equipped with TVS and a full bar. Food and cocktail happy hour with daily drink specials.
The swordfish tacos are a favorite during happy hour and I love the flavored long islands who knew! They seriously have the best shoestring fries and the prawns are yummy but the portion is small.
Brunch/​Lunch bomb club sandwich and I live for a good spring mix! The burger is bomb too. Oh and $ 5 mimosas are perfect refreshment.
For dinner the options are plentiful I would definitely get the salmon again. The hub loved the steak with mushrooms.
Feel free to dress up a bit this place is worth it!

I don’t know why 1515 don’t have better reviews. I had a great dinner here and the food was amazing! We had no problem using the Groupon for this. Paid $ 75 for $ 100 so saved us some money. But then spent that money on drinks… Lol! The cocktails were fabulous and it was a fun & lively atmosphere on a Thursday night. This place is great for a date night!
–French onion soup was good.
–Crab Stack was delicious and very generous with the crab. The presentation was beautiful!
–The Oysters Rockefeller (½ dozen) reminded me of the chargrilled oysters in New Orleans but with a California twist. I wish i had ordered a dozen instead!
–But the highlight of the night was the SeaBass topped with bay shrimps & sea bass! Every bite left you wanting more…
Definitely will be back!
