The food was really really good! The people were nice too. The French onion soup was one of the best I’ve had! Great steaks. I’m definitely going back again.

Delicious NY Strip steak and baked potato tonight on Halloween. Some kids with cute costumes came into to see the staff. I highly recommend the garlic bread with mozzarella cheese. good value. Fun night, good service and great red sangria. We will come again soon.

My mom wanted to have a steak dinner for her birthday. We always go to Arthur’s in Hoboken but this time decided to give a new place a chance! And boy were we happy with our choice! It’s not the fanciest place but after tasting the food I think I would have ate off the floor! Kathie was our waitress and gave us some fun stories about the family business as well. Glenn her brother was also hands on. The steak melted like butter! The French Onion soup was to so flavorful can’t wait to have it again. At the end of the meal Kathie brought out some chocolate cherry shots which were the perfect ending to a fabulous meal! Do yourself a favor and add a pitcher of sangria to your meal. We will definitely be back!!!

My family and I tried this place on Valentine’s Day. We stopped by around 9:30 pm and there was only 1 other table. We were greeted by a friendly older woman who I assume was Kathy. First we ordered 3 sodas but unfortunately the soda was flat. I saw them being served from a 2 liter bottle. That was unfortunate. Next, they did not have plastic cups so my 1 yr old daughter had to get her juice in a wine glass… which was alright because luckily for me she can drink out of a straw. The straw was not provided so I took one out the soda. The bartender was nice enough to change the channel to the dunk contest for us on the tv. Then we got the food and it was very good! Delicious. We ordered the mozzarella sticks. They were yummy. The marinara sauce they came with was good but a little watery. My 6 year old got the chicken bits and fries. They were delicious.(The lady did say that it was made from fresh chicken and not processed. This was after my husband asked her if they would be like nuggets.) Then my husband got his rib eye cheese steak sandwich. It had onions and peppers and it was so good! It came with fries. Unfortunately our entrees did not come out together as is normally accustomed. So, I ordered a long island ices tea and it was awful! The most horrible I have ever had. And I’m and bartender! It tasted like water and lemon. So I let them know and they thought that I wanted more liquor and she started a sermon about how it had 5 shots and I quickly said I know I’m a bartender. Then I got a second one and it was still watery but she said it had 6 shots this time… very generous –_-…so I could actually taste the liquor a bit more. She explained that they make their own sour mix and that could be why. They need to stop because it tastes nothing like a long island should. Having proper ice cubes might also help.(Bartenders know this.) Anyway, in the end it was so bad I couldn’t even finish it. I only drank half and had to brace myself to drink that half. And I enjoy my drinks! Do yourself a favor and skip mixed drinks. So then we got some bread with butter and it was good. After, I got a sm to md sized baked potato which was supposed to come with my steak. Shortly after, I finally got the 1lb NY strip. I had ordered it with mushrooms but got it alone. She said the mushrooms would come separate. I found that weird. Then I got a rather small salad… just a bit of romaine lettuce with ¼ of a small tomatoe and some pieces shredded carrots. No onions nothing special. The peppercorn dressing was really good. The sour cream and butter for my baked potato followed. We never got extra napkins so my husband got up and stole some from another table. He also had to ask the man at the bar for another flat soda because the lady forgot. In the end we finished our food and the mushrooms never came out. The waitress never came back so we started to put our coats on and get the kids ready. Then the bartender, in fear that we would leave, asked us if we needed anything. I asked for the check. About 5 mins later the lady came back and started ringing us up on the cash register. From our table, I asked her if she could take the mushrooms off the bill since they never came out. She acted surprised. Then she brought us the bill and hovered by our table so I didn’t even remember to review it. She apologized for not telling me they had run out of mushrooms. We paid and left. I didn’t even determine how much tip I left but I don’t think it was enough. My husband said unfortunately the service was lacking and he was ok with that tip being short. Overall the food was so good. Next time we will skip the drama and get take out since we live a few blocks away.

Me and my husband came to visit here Saturday night with my sister, husband and kids. I will say that the steaks were amazing, even the appetizers were great! We enjoyed our Sangria as well. The only thing is, the wait is horrific! They really need to work on the service and make it better for the patrons. The owner Kathie was the one who ended up helping because the waitress seemed to be in la la land… I want to say that I would come back but honestly I could get great steaks at Steve’s Sizzling steaks especially for the prices. The bill was NOT cheap.

Bring a book with you. Service here is very inattentive and slow. Beyond slow would be a good expression of our experience. I presume Kathie, the owner, was our waitress for the night. She was very inattentive, to the point where we wanted to walk out. My french fries were stale and just pretty terrible. Salads? Forget about it. Literally the sidedish of the salad, consisted of one slice of tomato and 1 slice of old cucumber mixed with a «ready to eat» Walmart type of salad with a addition to an awful Italian dressing. My father’s plate happened to be kind of dirty. Alas we pressed on, we hoped that the steaks at least might be the saving grace of this place. Steaks were kind of meh, very mediocre. Not terrible, but for that price I was expecting good quality. Kathie took our order and when the food arrived, we were missing our steak toppings. In a hindsight, that was blessing in disguise. We couldn’t wait to leave this place. I understand that this is not a Gordon Ramsey’s steakhouse, but this place is just pretty terrible. Glenn at least seemed like a nice guy. Overall, I would skip this place. There are better places to eat.

I pass this place every day going to work, and i always wondered how this place was. They are only open 3 days a week– Thurs– Saturday. There is a small parking lot in front, and if thats packed you can park on the side street. When you walk in, you realize that its a divey local bar/restaurant which is fine with me. Just dont expect a fancy steakhouse. Our waitress which really nice and helpful. I started out with their homemade Sangria and that was GREAT. I really enjoyed that– especially b/c they give it to you in a nice big glass!!! Extra plus. I ordered the 10 oz. filet mignon with fried onions. I got it with their homemade french fries. Overall, it was pretty good. It was quite tasty. I wouldnt say the presentation of the food was Wow– but it definitely had flavor and it was a good piece of meat.

It was my mom’s last night in town and we decided we wanted some steaks. Not the Brazilian or Portuguese kind but honest to goodness American red meat. After perusing Unilocal we decide on Kathie & Glenn’s. Best steak I’ve had in Jersey. We started with the pierogi appetizer and they were fantastic. For the main course we both had the 10 oz filets with baked potato and salad. I eat mine blue rare and my mom had hers medium rare. When they brought them out on the sizzling plate I knew we were in for something special. Truly amazing. My mom said it was the best meal she had the whole week. That good!

A friend told us about this place. So my boyfriend and I along with my sister went to try it. I had the ribeye and they had the filet. What makes this place different is they offer toppings to put on your steak. My sister and I had steaks topped with fresh garlic and butter and my boyfriend had a steak topped with Roma Tomatoes, garlic and mozzarella cheese. All three were delish. I highly recommend that you try Kathy and Glenn’s.

A friend told my sister and I about how good the sizzling steaks were here so I just had to try them. We were greeted by the friendly owner Kathie who sat us with a story about the history of the building(It’s a beautiful 200 year old house) and told us about how they’re in the process of decorating the walls with old town photos and yearbooks. Kathie’s brother Glenn, also the owner(like the restaurant’s name) made sure we had everything we needed for the table including extra napkins for our upcoming order of juicy steaks. Okay now onto the food… the«flowering onion» and deep fried corn fritters were good starters but the sizzling steaks were the star entrees. I had the 10 ounce sizzling filet mignon topped with sauteed garlic and my sister had the huge 22 ounce ribeye while her boyfriend had the filet mignon topped with mozzarella and tomatoes. All entrees are served with a house salad(peppercorn dressing was the best), steak fries or a baked potato. The ribeye was juicy and the filets were like butter! I’d definitely go back to get my steak fix. Reasonably priced too!
