Business Owner

Maria always knew she wanted to be a hairstylist. She jokes that «as a little girl, I would cut all my Barbie Dolls’ hair… I couldn’t really do much with them so they all just ended up with bobs.»

She started at Hairclub as a colorist and stylist in 1998, and in 2002 she took over the salon. In 2004, she changed the name and M. Salon and Spa was born.

Maria loves to see people smile, saying, «I truly believe, and have always said… if my guests and employees are happy, then so am I. Making people happy is what I love to do.»

Along with having a great sense of humor, Maria is humble and appreciative saying «I feel blessed and strive to give back to my employees and the community. True happiness is a reflection of feeling beautiful inside and out.»

I visited M Salon this weekend for a wash and style. I couldn’t have been happier with my hair and overall interaction with Julia, the stylist who I worked with. She was personable and understood what I was looking for. She even gave me pointers before I left to make sure the do lasted.
The place is massive and I didn’t realize until I arrived is also a full service spa! Décor is well appointed, music is at a comfortable level and the moment I walked in I felt welcomed — they took my coat and offered beverages right away.
I ran into a little issue with booking an appointment via their app, but the moment I reached out they rectified the situation. So just a heads up if you don’t hear from them right away they may be having a communication issue with the app developer.
I’ve been looking for a go to place to tame my locks, this is it!

Horrible! I scheduled an appointment here because they use olaplex which I was looking to try. Big mistake, the stylist turned my beautiful blonde hair completely gray!!! When I asked why it was gray she assured me it was just very blonde and it was the lighting in the salon. Compete lie! My hair was completely gray after she left the toner on much to long. She was to bust snacking in the back instead of watching my hair process. I contacted the salon via email so I could provide pictures of my hair and asked for a refund. They never even bothered to respond! Bottom line they take the money and run and don’t care if you are happy with your hair or not. Do not go to this salon!!!

I only have experience with one stylist here but she is THE best stylist I have ever been to (which have been many!) Cristina P is amazing! My first appointment was for a corrective color (I totally botched a home bleaching attempt) I walked in with a head of yellow/orange hair and walked out with gorgeous ash blonde with some light brown low lights. It looked so natural and just really beautiful! I now go back to Cristina every 8 or so weeks for color and a cut (which she is also terrific at!!) Their prices are pretty reasonable, in my opinion. I have paid much more elsewhere for sub par results. I wish I could say more about the other stylists but if you are in need of a cut or color I definitly recommend trying to get an appointment with Cristina P!

recently went back after years of avoiding this place i had a bad color done and terrible chopped up haircut by someone named katy a few years back. recently started going again because they are one of the few places still open on mondays. i have to admit i do find this place pricey. the services are ok… never really too impressed with any haircut ive gotten there. the owner is very nice and the staff is friendly – unlike alot of other places. all in all it is a good place to go if you ever find yourself stuck on a monday needing a haircut, they do a better job than supercuts but again i find the expense to be something to consider. maybe do some checking and get a recommendation of who to ask for… the best there seem to be maria and brooke in my experience,

I had heard a lot of good things about the spa, and for once everything I heard was true. The staff were all very helpful and happy, prices were reasonable, and the enviornment was clean and comforting. I have gotten facials, manicures, pedicures, and hair treatments. I would absolutely advise anyone to go here. There are always running specials and have great deals/packages.

I was given a free pedicure coupon by a friend that I could use as a first time customer, and I was so excited to come to the salon that I have heard so many good things about! My pedi was scheduled with Charlene, and the second I walked into the salon I felt welcomed. The girls at the front desk were both very polite. While I waited, I was offered coffee, tea, snacks, and a tour of the salon/and their tanning salon next door. Charlene was very sweet and professional. My leg/foot scrub felt awesome and she did a great job with the color.
I would for sure recommend M. to anyone! Some of their services are a little pricey (Pedi. $ 51), but everything seems to have so much detail put into it. You get what you pay for.

M. Salon has it all and top of the line service as well!!! You can get your hair cut, tan or have your nails done (I have had all of the above!) or you could have a full day of beauty and have a massage, waxing, facial, etc! There is almost nothing they don’t offer and once you walk in the door you don’t ever want to leave. Every client is treated like an old friend, the staff goes out of their way to make you comfortable! M. Salon feels like a high class NYC salon! The best part is the prices are great and the quality is top notch!

Having recently moved to Meriden (just 5 mins down the road from M Salon and Spa in Wallingford), I asked a friend of mine where I could go to get my hair and eyebrows done. She recommended M Salon, where she’s been going for years. She always raves about their great service. Now I can see why! I have gone to M Salon twice already, and both times got my eyebrows done. I was very pleased both times. They are very professional, very friendly, and their prices are reasonable.
The first time I went, I was greeted with a «Welcome Package,» (goody bag) filled with great coupons, offers, and samples of their products — as it was my first time at the salon. And the second time, they offered me a cold beverage as I waited. I was so impressed with their service, I can’t wait to make an appointment with them to get my hair done!
