Slice of Papé Series
Grapes native to France’s Rhôné Valley are the focus of our ‘Slice of Pape’ program — our homage particularly to the blended wines of the Southern Rhôné. Slice of Pape, Slice of Pape Blanc, and Pink Pape (our dry rosé) are crafted from the best of these traditional varietals. Separately and together, they offer you a New World expression of these classic Old World wines.

We also make limited quantities of varietal wines, each focusing on a single grape. In these wines, you can taste the grape’s unique character — its aromas, flavors, texture and detail, expressed via the terroir of our estate vineyards.

Mediterranean Slice Series
In our ongoing efforts to expand our reach with other varietally-focused wines, we look to grapes whose origins are within the Mediterranean region. Again the goal is to express the traditional characteristics of each varietal, capturing the essence in each wine’s distinctive aromas and flavors. We invite you to explore these special wines, that have been Mediterranean standard-bearers for centuries.

History
Established in 2005.
In straight translation, tranche is a French term meaning slice. To us, it means that and much more. The Tranche wines are a further expression of our abiding curiosity about wine. Its several «slices» explore a growing range of estate-grown, Mediterranean and Rhôné-inspired, varietal wines and blends.
The Tranche winery and adjacent Blue Mountain Vineyard play an essential role in our portfolio. We are working here with carefully-selected varietals matched to a specific, unique, weather-blessed location. In terms of altitude, aspect, rainfall, and all the other factors that enter into the taste of a place — often referred to as terroir — the Blue Mountain Estate Vineyard is truly one of a kind.
Here we cultivate a diverse collection of some of the world’s most interesting grape varietals, with more being planted as we learn and explore. We practice only sustainable viticulture, hand-farming each block, in order to harvest very low yields of intensely-flavored fruit.
