Stopped in to take a break from our wine tasting with some more wine tasting. This was the kind of stop you take when you just want to sit back and enjoy wine while enjoying the view from the patio. We sat on the patio and just looked out to the hills. Bryant was a great server, gladly coming out to the porch to pour each of our wines. He would explain the wine to us and answer any of our questions. Bryant was a fantastic server, very friendly, easy to talk to, knowledgable about wine and really made this tasting a great one. After we had gone through all the wines, Bryant insisted we taste the late harvest dessert wine. With gladly tried it and bought a bottle. If you are looking for a nice, laid back stop, with great views, give Amavi a try.

Amavi was one of the wineries on my own list of places to visit in Walla Walla. Amavi is the little sister to Pepper Bridge, which is just down the road as well. We arrived on a Friday afternoon and were the only couple in the winery. They had a nice deck you could wine taste on, but we decided to stay inside in the air-conditioned building. We tasted three wines. The Semillon, Syrah and the Cabernet Sauvignon. All of the wines were great but we loved the Cabernet Sauvignon(which is weird since we aren’t big Cab drinkers). I loved how they had info cards for each wine naming the vineyards, varietals, harvest date, case production and what each wine pairs well with. That was an awesome extra. Bryant poured the wine for us and he was great! He was super nice, fun and had great info on the wines as well! Overall this was a great stop, experience and they have great wines!

The best view in Walla Walla!!! Ahhh this place is like a little glass oasis. So pretty. You drive up to this stunning building in the middle of nowhere. Just to go into a building covered with glass. And I have a major love/crush/obsession with bright open spaces with glass. it was an instant lovefest!!! Came on a beautiful 100 degrees plus day. So hot, everything melts. But the views drew me outside anyway. Sip wine while gazing out into that green, mountainy background? Love it. Tasted three different wines. Semillon was white crisp and refreshing! Syrah~ peppery and 100% !Last but not least, Cabernet Sauvignon! The wine staff even let me tasted their ice wine that was not on the tasting. It was a sweet perfection. If I love sweet, I would go for that. But a sip was a enough for such a hot day. Overall, beautiful tasting experience. I sat outside the whole time! They came to check on me several times. Service was laid back and relaxed. The views however are magical! It can clam anyone down. Even a sleepless toddler high on caffeine, eating ice cream that just got a new puppy! That’s saying a lot! Not saying bring your toddlers but you get the point. Can’t wait to come back!

The younger sister to Pepper Bridge Winery, Amavi has its own distinct character by design according to the servers at our tasting. The two mostly make different wines so you don’t have much overlap but the quality is still very high at both. We started our day here and came back for the«roaming lunch truck» and music for a relaxing venue and break from tasting. The tasting room has beautiful views and informative servers that guided us through our tasting as well as the history of the winery. A great experience.

Quite possibly the best Syrah we’ve had in Walla Walla and the Cab Sauvignon is a close second. Being its Tuesday the tasting room is slow so the gentleman pouring the tastings has been kind enough to pour our tastings on the patio as we enjoy our lunch. Be sure to bring your own lunch though — no food served except possibly on weekends when it’s busy and they might have a food truck here. Several of the locals suggested this place to stop for lunch because the view is so beautiful — and it is. With quality wines like this and reasonable prices we’ll definitely be joining their wine club.

Terrific winery tour! Linda was the person that served the various samples of wines. She knew so much about the wine, the history of the winery itself and the region that we thought she was one of the owners. The wines were very good. I purchased the Semillon which I thought was exceptional(my husband’a not a wine drinker).

I’ve been in Walla Walla for six years, and love giving visitors recommendations for where to go. Amavi is always on the top of my list for experiencing the BEST of the Walla Walla wine scene. They have a gorgeous back deck, where you can drink in views of the Blue Mountains while also drinking in some of their terrific wine. I went in March most recently, and we had the tasting room totally to ourselves. We bought a bottle of Syrah, and enjoyed it out on the back deck with a couple of burritos from the local taco truck. I can’t think of a better way to experience Eastern Washington! The facility is gorgeous, the views are spectacular, the tasting room associates are friendly, and the wine is great. Amavi is quite possibly heaven on earth.

Sue and I mainly came here because of the sleek and newish(apparently it has been around for 2.5 years) tasting room. We knew the wines were a bit out of our price range, but we wanted to come anyway. The tasting was $ 5 each, but we only had 3 different wines. All were priced at $ 29. The lady pouring was friendly, but we didn’t end up buying anything. Beautiful space and I imagine it would be a bit more amazing if the sky was clear and the sun was shining. Nice views of the Blue Mountains from the deck in this place, but not on this day.

The first stop of our multi-day tasting trip. Next to Kiona, the most beautiful tasting room that we saw in the region. Nice wines, a little on the expensive side. Very nice lady pouring in the tasting room. Didn’t mind our kids. $ 10 tasting fee, I believe. I recommend stopping by.

Amavi has one of the best situated wineries in Walla Walla, on the South side and with a view of vineyards and wineries that extends into Oregon. You should plan a trip here for the view alone. The tasting room staff is cheerful, eager and knowledgable. We really enjoyed the banter and we learned a good deal. The wines that were poured for us were very young. Now this may be because they just started pouring the 2009.(We tasted the 2008 in the tasting room at Woodinville a few weeks back and enjoyed it. It was more complex and drinkable.) While we did buy a few bottles, we found the recommendation that we needed to cellar the wines for 7 – 9 years(the Cabs) to be a little challenging. How we gonna wait?

We came to this winery specifically after checking it out on the web as we passed through Walla Walla. We were glad we did. The tasting room is very clean and modern, and the beautiful view stretches far out to the distance. It was about 92 degrees when we visited. I love the heat so it was a perfect place to stop, taste some wine, enjoy the view, and relax. We ended up taking home a Semillon that we shared with some friends who also thought it a great wine. It is a little off the main track, but going to this area you will also have a chance to visit other wineries in the area that are close by. Also, our wine aficionado was Ashley who was very friendly and knowledgeable and made our time there even better. When I come back to Walla Walla I will be sure to stop here again.

What a gorgeous winery! I brought a group of 20 people to wine taste in Walla Walla and coordinated with Patty, the owner, for my group to have lunch at her location. She bent over backwards to accomodate our group and she did it with a smile! Great wine, friendly staff and a beautiful location set the mood for a nice afternoon lunch out on her deck!

Amavi is no longer located in town but off of Peppers Bridge Road. The new tasting room(s) have a modern flare and has a breathtaking view of the valley. They have a deck with patio chairs for you to enjoy the view while sipping wine. I found the wines quite good and the tasting fees very reasonable(think they were $ 5), refundable with purchase of wine. This is a definite winery to hit when visiting Walla Walla if not for the wine, then for the view. The prices have gone up since Travis’ visit, but it’s expected with a winery that gets accolades for the prices to get a bit higher.

Another great winery in Walla Walla. Nicely located within walking distance to Canoe Ridge and Whitman Cellars. I’d suggest hitting all three: great wines with different styles. This is a nice little corner of the Walla Walla wine district. For more info on Amavi, see Thad’s review!!!
