I paid for a week in advance. Then, on day four, they said I had to mover everything out of the room for most of the day.
Despite me paying for the room, they wanted it back to spray pesticides in the room. Then, I was expected to move back in, after the spraying. I asked them wait until I moved out. They refused.
However, they did tell another customer he wouldn’t have his room sprayed… because he hadn’t pre-​paid and they wanted more money from him.
Which is ironic… if they had waited to spray my room, I would have stayed there for several weeks. They lost lots of money on me… but managed to screw me out of three days and two nights of stay…“no refunds for the weekly rate…“
The contract specifically said I rented the room for a week. They wouldn’t let me use for the week… and…i was supposed to help them while they poisoned my room???

Last week, my husband and I had the pleasure of staying at this resort. The views were absolutely breath taking. Our stay was nothing but perfect! From the kind and courteous staff to the organic mattress. There was amazing food and scenic views at their bar and lounge. We really could have not asked for anything thing else! We will definitely be back.

I was fairly leary after reading other reviews but the Waldport options are limited.
No the pool was not functioning, which was a little annoying considering it was $ 100 a night. The room was clean, everything worked and contrary to what people said we could not hear other people and it was a Friday night. However, there is not even so much as a mini fridge or a microwave so any snacks have to be iced in a cooler and leftovers from dinner out don’t get reheated. These are the few reasons I gave it a 3 and not a 5.
The desk staff were courteous and we had room to park our truck and boat in the parking lot.
Also, continental breakfast doesnt start until 8 so early risers and check-​outers do not get to take advantage.

Of course, the only time when everything is booked up we have to stay here. And of course, after a night my legs were covered in bed bug bites. This happened the first time I was here too, this hotel is filthy.

I feel bad giving this place two stars cuz the people working here are trying very hard. There are two young women who worked the front desk and were the waitress in the restaurant. We saw no maids so we assumed they also turn down the rooms. They are basically running this entire complex and doing their best in a very bad situation. We booked our room from
and basically paid motel 6 rates. So I can’t complain too much. It was better than most motel 6s I’ve stayed in, but not much. You get what you pay for, right?
My advice to the young women working there — get out. You’rebetter than this place!

Good for the prices. Room was clean but you can definitely hear the neighbors conversations and door slamming later in the evenings. I’m not a light sleeper so this wasn’t an issue.
The restaurant was great and food was absolutely delicious for dinner. The waitress with the glasses is the best and provides great advice on what to do in the area when it comes to tourism!

We were hoping this place would be good as we are locals and enjoy supporting small businesses. Unfortunately, two stars is generous.
The very first thing that turned me off about this place was seeing the mop, bucket and broom right as we walked in as we waited to be seated. Ick! Not exactly what I want to see when I’m hungry and putting trust in people to cook a delicious meal.
It was quite cold in the dining area and all the walls were stark white. It seemed uninviting. We were hoping to catch the sunset but the restaurant offered no sunset view whatsoever. Big disappointment.
The waitress was not only serving the entire dining area, she was seating people and pouring drinks at the bar too. We could hear the loud music from the bar as well. There seemed to be no method to the madness as right after we were seated she asked us what we wanted to eat. Umm, can we please get a drink? Then, she served us a menu full of specials without any prices. Fair enough but don’t most wait staff give you a quick run down of the specials?
They were out of a few choices which she reviewed with us so we settled on the pink shrimp salad, oysters and NY steak. The oysters were prepared in some sort of cream sauce using a wine wine reduction. I could taste the alcohol in the sauce which seemed to me that it was not cooked long enough to burn that alcohol taste away. I’m no chef but I think I could have prepared the oysters better.
I asked for my steak to be cooked medium and it came well done. It was quite tough so I let my husband finish it and I called it good.
The best part of our meal was the local beer. Spruce tip. Unfortunately we will not come back to this restuarant.

The service was terrible. I arrived to find the staff all drinking in the bar. The rooms are super cramped. «Continental breakfast» consisted of 2 tubs of cereal and a few manufactured muffins and donuts.
I was here for a wedding and they failed to appropriately service the event. Brides maids and guests had to set up the tables and chairs. The bar and restaurant were closed, so no food or drinks were available. The surly staff were completely uninterested in finding ways to improve the situation. Perfect opportunity to make a little money and please the guests. Waiting for the service to begin, we got kicked out of the (closed) bar and the restaurant lobby. The poor bride used the word «nightmare» several times.
Really disappointing on every level. Poorly run business.

I feel I’m being generous here… I’m not sure what to start with. Is it the pet friendly hotel that actually calls the sheriff on you if your pet so happens to make a noise… strike ONE! Or, maybe it’s the not cleaning your room. We leave at 7:30 am on a Sunday & flip our «please make up room sign». We then return at 10:00 pm to find the same «please make up room sign» hanging on the door. We go in and the room is not cleaned or beds made. I go to the front office to find the clerk snoring away… I ask about our room not being cleaned… his reply «hmmmm…they must of forgot it». Strike TWO! Strike THREE is not offering to get the room made up or trying to make the situation better. Such a sad place on a beautiful chunk of land going to waste. I called the following day and spoke with the assistant manager. Let’s put it this way… they don’t care about the customer one bit. Don’t waste your money or time. Worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel!!!

So I booked this hotel before I read the Unilocal reviews. Then on our way here (me, my husband and 2 kids) I read the reviews (and they weren’t good!) so I had set the bar really low. When I checked in I had to use the phone to call a person to the desk (I think he was sleeping or something) which was off putting. Then we got to the room and it was tiny and kinda dated. But I do have to say the view was killer!!! I’m a smoker and I went out to one of the benches and smoked and drank a beer. It was so peaceful. With the bridge and the bay and seagulls. They even have a fire pit. So overall the rooms kinda sucked. But the view was really nice.

While expensive for what you actually got, the hotel wasn’t terrible. The staff is very small and I saw our receptionist who checked us in was also cleaning the rooms. We had to use a courtesy phone to call someone to check us in.
The room was small and kind of dirty. There was a bottle that said, «acid free bowl cleaner» left in the bathroom. That was pretty off putting, but it meant the toilet was clean. The bed was supposedly a queen, but was much smaller than my queen at home.
The view of the bay was nice and when we opened our windows at night, the breeze was great. I don’t believe there was air conditioning, but there was a ceiling fan.
The worst part was the party that was happening below our window outside. Some guests were having a bonfire and they were laughing so loud we had to close our window. That killed our wonderful breeze right away. Also, a few rooms away someone had their infant with them. The walls are very thin. We heard the crying baby all morning and all night. That was unpleasant. Between all the noise we were able to enjoy the sound of gulls in the morning when we opened our window again around 5 am. That was lovely.
We didn’t check out the restaurant or the breakfast. We brought some bananas with us.
Some tips if you plan to stay:
1. Put out the door sign that requests cleaning service if you want your room cleaned. I don’t think they check every room because of the small staff.
2. If you’re going to arrive after 9 pm, let them know. They go home and there won’t be anyone to check you in.
3. Beds are VERY soft. If you have trouble on soft mattresses, bring pain pills for your bad back.
4. Check out is early, 11 am. Check in is at 3 pm.
5. Parking fills quickly at night and some guests let their dogs wander unleashed. Be careful not to hit any dogs with your car.
6. You have to drive to the beach. You have a nice view of the bay, but if you want the ocean it’s a short 5 minute drive.
Here’s my takeaway: this place is good in a pinch. My boyfriend and I planned an impromptu beach weekend and this place had a room. Would we stay again? Maybe. It’s nice to support a local small business, but their prices are very high. We likely will end up staying in Florence, Yachats, or Newport and skip Waldport next time. Waldport is just such a small town with not much to offer since it’s largely residential, but it’s not bad for a quiet weekend.

This place is terrible. Rude employees. Building outside looked abandoned and covered in bird drippings. Room was clean. Breakfast consisted of cereal, milk, juice and packaged pastry. When we came at 9am, everything was gone and employees wouldn’t restock anything. After paying 120 $ for a night, at least they could offer something.

Stuck in Waldport for a night and decided to stay here as it was our only option. The place seemed empty and deserted when we got here. However, we were charged 109 dollars for the night in a room where the floor was dirty with debris and smelled like mildew. The grounds itself also seemed unkempt (dead grass, unswept walkways). The only good thing was that you could build your own fire out back with random sticks found on the ground.
While the owner was very gracious, one concierge (Rebecca) was rude and had a horrible attitude. When we needed to get into a hotel car to retrieve something we forgot, she was difficult to work with and all but yelled at us.
Awful place and definitely not a «resort», never stay here.

Wish I’d Unilocaled it before I booked it. Their own website is nearly false advertising. Old motel with newer looks. Attractive enough rooms, new mattresses, but definitely not a resort. It’s a budget hotel that used to have a restaurant (and customers, apparently… there couldn’t have been a dozen rooms in use). I’ve stayed in much nicer places on the Oregon coast for similar prices.

We stayed 2 nights-​the maid never cleaned our room, and our room key card never seemed to work.
