Can’t say enough good things about Waldorf Animal Clinic. We have been bringing our dogs here since we moved to So. MD from No. VA 12 years ago. We see Dr. Philips and he has been very kind, caring and has taken excellent care of our babies. He is very clear with us on what is going on with our dogs medically (and emotionally when we added a new pup into our pack) and gives us all the options as well as the costs up front so we can make an educated decision.
We also take our 3 babies for grooming here with Shannon and her team.
Everyone here provides loving care to our pets and us as well!

Waldorf Animal Clinic is a Godsend to me & my dog Nellie. She is a 7 pound toy poodle rescue that was severely abused. I started out using the clinic for their grooming services. Nellie had never been groomed her first 5 years of life & gave groomers quite a time. Shannon did an amazing job of gaining Nellie’s trust. Nellie has had a number of health issues and the veterinary staff is knowledgeable & attentive to Nellie’s needs. They have literally saved her life several times! I can’t say enough about the boarding staff. They are the unsung heroes at the clinic. I know Nellie is in good hands while I am gone. A bonus is the pics they send of Nellie while I’m away. The reception staff make me feel like family but are also very professional. I love Waldorf Animal Clinic & drive by quite a few other Veterinary places because Nellie gets excellent care there.

My dad and I shared responsibility of my mom and his two dogs after my mom passed away. Our two dogs (Howie and Honey) remained living with my dad but I had to help take care of them due to my dad’s health condition. My dad and I were both new at taking care of them (my mom did all the work before) and Waldorf Animal Clinic was always fantastic answering the many questions I had as well as explaining some of their medical history I was uncertain of! Howie sadly passed away last fall from cancer but Honey now lives with me in Carroll County so I had to find a veterinarian that is closer to my home. I REALLY miss Waldorf Animal Clinic. I have yet to find one I like as much as them! Waldorf Animal Clinic had treated Honey for a hot spot and Dr. Phillips did surgery to remove a large tumor on her toe. They did the testing and diagnosed Howie with cancer of the anal glad and explained what we could expect as far as his symptoms, behavior and how much time we might expect to have left with him. Howie was an older doggie who had already lost a lot of weight from the cancer (that was the first sign we had) so they understood and shared our concern with trying any cancer treatment for him. We continued with easing his symptoms the best we could until we had to say goodbye. The doctors and all the staff had so much sympathy and compassion for what we were going through. That really meant a lot to me.
I should note that Howie and Honey had also been groomed there several times and the groomers were so sweet to them and did a great job. All of the staff showed adoration for our dogs! That is who you want to treat your pets /​your babies!

I’ve been bringing my 150 lb German Shepherd since 2007… Unfortunately. I had to put my beloved fur baby down today… Dr. Phillips is the vet best EVUH. He always took care of my fur baby to the very end, despite of the most recent condition of my baby. He was very sympathetic and we shared a cry together… Awesome vet!

After leaving animal clinic with my new puppy, I felt good. They made sure i understood everything i needed to know about my new baby, and about the shot they were giving her. They also gave me a booklet on everything. The pricing isn’t bad. The staff is wonderful and nice, they interact with every pet that comes in. They offer more then one thing. If your looking for a place to set you pet while you goon vacation they can to that also. Its an all in one stop for pets.

Just left the animal clinic with my dog for a second opinion and wellness visit. All of the staff was very friendly towards me and my dog. Dr. Phillips was very professional and concerned with my dogs needs.
I would definitely go back again, I’m even considering making this my permanent vet.
On a side note they offer much more than vet services, they do grooming and boarding too!

Beware of their hidden costs! I should of did more research through
before we scheduled with this over priced vet clinic.
We took our 2 dogs here. We had suspicion of ticks b/​c my BF woke up one day with a tick latched on him, so we both decided it was best for our dogs to get checked out. Also, one of the dogs has an ear infection.
BF said the male doctor kept wanting to sell vaccinations, our dogs are up to date and are not due until 2 more months. Then he prescribed all these meds without even EXPLAINING the standard 411’s and WHY’s. Turns out both dogs have no ticks. They did a swab on my dog’s ear and looked it up into the microscope for $ 35!!!
Overall, they didn’t check our female dog. We came out with $ 300 bill. These people are NOT the place to go. We will never go back.
GO TO WALDORF WELL PET CLINIC instead 301−885−0253. They are low cost.

I’ve tried different Veterenary clinics in the area, and have been most satisfied with this one. The people are all very nice, and genuinely care about yourt pet.

Clinic does not know how to treat big dogs. I took my Saint Bernard there to get neutered last Friday. He should not have been released from the clinic. But got him home and took him to the ER in Alexandria where my puppy died shortly after I arrived. The vet that performed the surgery has yet to speak to me because he has been out of the office. The other vets have assured me that they did nothing wrong… But my dog was fine the day before. So something does not add up. BEWARE before taking your animals to this clinic… I really believe that they Michael Jackson’d my dog by giving him too much antistatic which caused him to go into cardiac arrest. Pet owners beware…

I am also a long time client of Waldorf Animal Clinic. I also disagree with the review from 8÷21÷2010. I personally request Dr. Meador for all six of my cats. I also took my MinPin to her and she was the only doctor to prescribe an anti-​inflammatory medicine for her. Everyone else just told me that she was getting older and to give her a joint supplement. I find her to be very warm. I actually like all of the veterinarians at WAC. I also take my two large dogs to Dr. Reader who is great with rehabilitation.

We first stumbled across this clinic when we found two stray kittens on the side of the road. This clinic had the soonest available appointment of any in the area, so we hustled the kittens over there. They were in bad shape, starving, horrendous eye infections, terrified of people. The vet, Dr. Meador I believe, was apprehensive about touching them in case they had any communicable diseases. She told us they were both female, prescribed some antibiotics and some eye cream, and told me that if they developed further symptoms they would have to be put down.
I wasn’t really impressed much with the vet, but several weeks later when the kittens were much improved, I had the fortune to book an appointment with Dr. Reeder. She was incredible. Even though the kittens were still apprehensive about me touching them or picking them up after weeks of caring for them, Dr. Reeder had an instant rapport with them. She was able to pick them up, pet them, handle them and examine them while the kittens just purred in her hands. She also did a much more thorough exam, and gave me the news that both kittens were, in fact, male. She gave me a lot of tips on how to save money in getting their vaccinations, how to treat an ongoing eye condition in one of the cats, and generally how to feed and handle them. She was great.
I also want to thank the clinic staff, because they repeatedly undercharged me for the visits. This made it possible for me to nurse the kittens back to health and find them a good, safe home without going completely broke.
I’ve returned to Dr. Reeder several times with my rescue dog and now with my new puppy. Each time, she has been absolutely wonderful with the dogs, putting them at ease, petting them, making them feel happy and comfortable while also taking the time to answer my questions thoroughly in a relaxed and helpful manner. She always provides great suggestions, like stuffing my puppy’s kong toy with peanut butter, kibble and mashed up banana and then freezing it so that it will keep the puppy busy longer.
Dr. Reeder herself gets 5 stars, and the staff is usually nice and helpful too. There are two reasons I’m giving the clinic as a whole 4 stars. One reason is because the first vet I saw there (Dr. Meador), did not impress me with her bedside manner with the kittens, or her exam (mis-​identifying the gender could have been quite problematic, since I’d been trying to find a home that wanted female cats).
The second reason is that the clinic has a policy that it will not authorize prescriptions over the phone or fax, which means that if I want to order heartworm medication from another pharmacy I have to mail in the prescription form myself. It’s a minor inconvenience, but nothing I’ve ever had to do with previous vets and it’s a little annoying, especially since the vet doesn’t actually carry the heartworm medication I use for my dog.
After trying out another local vet, though, I’ve decided that Dr. Reeder seems to be well worth the hassle.
