Cecil and Sons LLC

I’m totally happy with Stacey from Cecil & Sons, maybe less so with AHS. When my furnace blower died last evening, AHS assigned my call to Cecil & Sons. Stacey, the technician stayed in touch with his ETA and thanks to some shared information, came with the expected parts in hand. The job was completed and my furnace was tested for proper operation.
If AHS would have approved an energency call, I might have had heat last night and I’m confident the work quality would have been the same.

I was referred to Cecil and Sons LLC by HSA home warranty. They came to fix my heater on 12÷03÷15. They came at 10:35 am and left at 11:15 am with my heater working, so I have no complaints. Thanks Cecil and Company

The tech walks into my home without knocking! My AC unit died in the middle of August. He starts adding parts without diagnosis. The he states that my compressor was hit by lightning, thus making it ineligible for AHS insurance claim. I thought it was best to get him off of my property. I had 2 companies come out to inspect damage and both made no mention of lightning. This caused my family to live without air conditioning for 2 weeks, I had me pay 2 other companies and buy window units for the home because of my child with asthma. What horses asses. They are rude, unethical and poor technicians. If you hear this name Run!

I had a similar experience as the other reviewer with Cecil and sons. Bottomline. they don’t seem to know what they are doing. We purchased a home warranty from HSA for our new buyer on our house. AC stopped working just before the sale of our home. We think «awesome. we have this home warranty on our AC». Not… HSA sent Cecil and sons. We paid our $ 100 deductilble. They came out twice. Diagnosed that it needed a new motor. They installed a new motor. Still was not running properly. so they came out again and diagnosed the coil being bad. due to pet urine. well, then HSA said they would not cover this. So then we needed to call an AC repair service. we used a much reliable service that knew what they were doing. They came out and said that Cecil and son installed the incorrect motor size… Cecil and sons is horrible. along with HSA warranty…

This was an American Home Shield (AHS) referral nightmare to find out the source of a pool of water in my basement. These guys were dispatched after the plumber they sent said the source of the leak was not the water heater but the AC Unit.
In comes Cecil and Sons, well one of the sons, he does a 20 minute inspection of the unit, removes the covers checks the condensation lines, and inspects the area around the blower, and that part seems fine and dandy until he says «Its not the HVAC unit but and its the water heater.» With rag in one hand he leans on the drainage valve with the other and before you can blink out goes the entire contents of the water heater onto the floor, into the HVAC and the drywall. «I’ve never had this happen to me before.» Me neither.
Then he gets on the phone with AHS gives them a run down of what happened and admits to breaking it then leaves saying a plumber will be out.
Later that day, the plumber is there takes a 5 minute look at it then says they can’t fix and calls AHS for additional guidance. NO CAN DO a replacement without approval even if our guys cause the problem. This back and forth of phone calls, tracking people, getting statements, and checking status goes on for 24 hours with, get this, the punchline being [AHS] «We are not responsible because the tech wasn’t authorized to touch the hot water heater. This is secondary damages and you have to go through their company to get money to take care of this.» Who can remember going to store and seeing a sign that saying «You break, you buy!!»?
The Cecil and sons, tech did take responsibility by starting the insurance claim but that really where that stopped.
They offered to install a water heater but only after we would go in ½ of the cost. WHY would ANYONE do that?! By luck, we had a probable solution with a spare hotwater heater that needed research into conversion to natural gas. NO CAN DO until Monday. That would be 6 days without hotwater. Six days where the baby and teenager aren’t able to be properly bathed.
So to a big, «Methinks not» to you for have no empathy and no sense of professionalism to take full responsibility in a manner that is urgent especially when YOU were the cause.
If you are a AHS victim, and these guys are dispached to you. Ask for another company.
