I was so disappointed this evening when I arrived. I was not greeted as I usually am. I went to use the restroom and it was beyond filthy! It smelled and there was very little bathroom tissue and there was absolutely no paper towels in the restroom at all! How are the employees drying there hands? Could it be that they are wiping there hands on the dirty uniform pants? Yuck! The manager Mark, didn’t look like he really gave a flip on the appearance or function of the restaurant. Not sure if I will be returning. That’s unfortunate because, I like the food but I can not risk my health due to uncleanliness! The two stars was only based on the pot pie that I had

You want to know my experience here? I’ve grown up to love eating at Boston markets because the flavor of the food and the meat just slips right off the bone. I can’t believe what my brother witnessed and I didn’t decide to complain only because I didn’t see it for myself but the horrific expression he had on his face with total disgust lead me to believe this. I may not have physical proof but it lead to a long hour drive back home with consistent arguments to a point I realize he was desperately wanting me to believe him and how disappointed he was when I didn’t. Which he has never pulled on me! Ok, so he witnessed three employees. One being the watch guy and two in the bathroom stall giving it a bang with each other! He walked in and quickly rinsed his hands to avoid what he just witnessed. I already ate, food was tasty but I hope it wasn’t because possible unwashed«other» flavors going with it! If you know what I mean. If it’s true, I can hope it wasn’t. I talk to a person who works with one of the employees in another job and he said«it doesn’t surprise me at all, my co worker has warned me not to eat at that place.» that advice was said after the situation but so far! So good! My brother and I have gotten checked for any possible infections with the doctors and we are good! Just bewareeeee my fellow Unilocalers!!!

Say what? Boston Market now brings your food to your table on a real plate with real silverware and everything? I’m loving it! Although now that some of the sides come in little cups on your plate, it takes away from my hopes that the person fixing my meal that day will accidentally scoop a large portion of mac n cheese just for me… if I smile particularly nicely at them… or something of that sort. The key is to also get the red skin new potatoes to dip in the extra mac n cheese sauce. Yummm. But, I digress… I love this fast food concept — a meal that more closely resembles a balanced dinner instead of the your run of the mill burger and fries joint. Can’t wait for Thanksgiving to roll around again? Boston Market is your place. Easter? Well, I’m still mad at them for discontinuing ham about 10 or so odd years ago. But, since I dig so many of their sides — mac n cheese(!!!), new potatoes, steamed veggies, sweet potato yum yum, and that amazing corn bread — I guess they can be forgiven.

Driving through Maryland in the middle of the day, I was starving. I promised myself that I am going to stop at the next place I see regardless of what kind of restaurant it may be. Lo and behold, I see a fast food chain from my youth. Boston Market? Are they still in business? I seem to remember reading about them as a case study in bankruptcy. Oh well, this location is alive and kicking, so Boston Market it is. I went in and was quickly overcome by the menu. No specials in the usual sense(entrée, side, and drink). Instead they had family deals that were priced per person and combos that involved a choice of protein and up to 3 sides. Since you have to pay for each side, I fail to see why they cap the selection to three sides. I suppose it is a clever way of having people order three sides instead of one since they might think they have to in order to get the special. I just had the dark meat combo with a side of macaroni and cheese. I additionally ordered a drink which was not part of the special. I was very pleased with the chicken. The rotisserie process imbues a considerable amount of flavor into the final product. The chicken is especially juicy, and I was not left ill after the fact as I always am in those ill considered instances in my life when I ate KFC. The macaroni and cheese was just okay. It was not particularly cheesy and especially runny. Overall though I was pretty satisfied with my quick stop. In the hierarchy of fast food restaurants, this one comes in at 4 stars.

When Boston Chicken popped up in Reston, I immediately became their biggest fan. What’s not to like? Their chicken is off the hook! Moist and delicious. I recommend trying their Manager’s Special. 2 quarter chickens’ worth of dark meat with 2 sides and cornbread. Oh yeah, that’s another thing… They have cornbread! Kentucky Fried Chicken inexplicably stopped serving cornbread back in the day. That was the beginning of the end for them. If you ask me, getting rid of the cornbread was the Colonel’s «jump the shark» moment. It’s a shame, really. Now you see them calling themselves KFC and trying to sell some crappy sammiches and other nonsense that nobody wants. You wish you were half as good as Boston Chicken. Boston Chicken(yeah I still call ‘em Boston Chicken and I still call the Washington Wizards the Bullets) has the best sides of any fast food place in the continental United States. The stuffing, green beans, sweet potato casserole(with it’s yummy marshmallow topping), mashed potatoes w/gravy, and corn are worth 4 stars alone. Then, there’s the mac ‘n cheese. This mac ‘n cheese is on a whole other level of rich cheesy, addictive, goodness! I don’t know what they put in that cheese but every time I eat it, I’m scraping every last bit of it off the plate with my spork or sopping it up with my cornbread ’till it’s just a delicious memory. I chose this location to review because I had Boston Chicken provide the sides for my engagement party at my bro’s place in Waldorf. Aside from picking a great girl to marry, this was the single best decision I’ve ever made. Everybody LOVED the mac ‘n cheese! The L word is a very strong word so I’ll just say that everybody was infatuated with the cornbread and other sides. I highly recommend using their catering service for any parties or barbecues you may have. Make sure you get enough Mac ‘n Cheese ’cause it will run out quick, fast, in a hurry.
