Babies R US

I’ve been to this store several times and have always had a pleasant experience. The employees are helpful and friendly. The store is clean and well organized. The bonus is a «mother’s room» with a couple cozy chairs for nursing or pumping and 2 changing tables. Bonus! The store pretty much has everything you need for a baby.

This is hands down my favorite Babies R Us. For starters, it’s a full store instead of the half/​half versions that share space with Toys R Us so automatically there is a much bigger selection here. I find the staff and management at this location to be very helpful and friendly. It’s the only Babies R Us that I’ve felt comfortable asking questions, because the staff goes the lengths to make me feel free to do so. I registered for my first child’s arrival at this location and was very satisfied with the experience.

Do NOT register at Babies R Us or Toys R Us. Sure — they have a lot available for newborns, infants, and babies, and if you need it and buying it for your child, that’s one thing, but i am writing to warn you about the registry.
Horrible policies regarding exchanges and returns. I asked the right questions (or so I thought) before signing up, and I still got f*d. Not fair. It’s not even technically money out of my pocket (it is the money my friends and family spent on gifts), but it still makes me so mad.
I come in with actual proof of how much someone paid for something and expect that same amount back via store credit. Does that sound crazy to you? I repeat — full proof which they actually pulled up on their computers with name address credit card info and everything! My only alternative was to keep these items, but that’s why I was returning /​exchanging — I had too many doubles! Please do not register here. I know it is tempting, but until they change their policies, do not give them your business via baby registry.

I’m expecting my first child next month, so I’ve been in Babies R Us many times over the past couple of months, both completing my registry and picking up some necessary things to prepare for baby. The selection at this store is good, and I find items to be mostly organized. The reason for two stars is the staff — I’ve frequently had to wait long periods for customer service, and in my experience the staff rarely know answers to my questions about both products and store policies (coupons, etc).
Recently I tried to have them order something for me that was out of stock to take advantage of a sale price. I had to wait 20 minutes for an associate, and then he couldn’t figure out how to do it. I sat with him for 25 minutes and eventually had to walk out because I had to be somewhere else. He was clueless and seemed to not even know how to navigate the store’s computer system. I realize that it’s hard to find reliable help for retail positions, but this particular situation made it clear to me that this BRU store needs to do better staff training. On a separate occasion, I waited in line 10 minutes to check out because the customer in front of me was insisted that she had a coupon in her purse and was searching. The associate in front of me was playing on her iphone, and not even bothered by the delay, even though there was a long line behind me. We would have all appreciated it if she’d asked the woman to step aside while she looked for the coupon.

I ventured into this store for some friends of mine having a baby shower. As far as selections of baby goods, Babies R Us is ahead of the pack. Everything you could possibly think of related to babies and motherhood – clothes, bottles, cribs, play pins, bath tubs, toys, pampers, bottles, strollers – and even the stuff you might not have thought of are ALL in this store. Other stores, like Toys R Us or Target may have baby sections but the options don’t seem as vast as in this store.
They have a relatively simply baby registry system as well. You can search by mother or father. And then print out your list. They break up each item the parents asked for by sections and aisles so you don’t have to spend too much time looking for everything. I really appreciated the organization of the store and items. They have pretty adequate customer service here that will help you with the registry if you need it. Don’t forget to go back to them and let them know you purchased something on a person’s list. And it was an added bonus that they had wrapping paper, gift bags, gift tags, bows, and tissue paper right near check out!
The only thing I would complain about would be the prices. I could buy the same item here for $ 10-​$ 20 less at Target. However, the price became less of an issue when I found many many more options than Target had. So in other words, don’t get the thing you saw at Target for less. Get something better to make your dollar spent here more worth it.
