I have never joined any excercise program in my entire 48 years. I ran across an advertisement for personal training given by the instructor/owner John. I joined and went a couple of months. I ran out of cash and stopped attending. In early 2013 I stopped with the New Years resolution and decided that I would do a Life Change to be healthy and if I lost weight that would be great. I went back to ABC fitness in May 2013 for boot camp and have been attending ever since. I lost weight but most importantly I feel healthy. The boot camp is great and their are alot of others who attend that support and encourage you during your régime. I would recommend this facility to anyone that’s willing to put in the time. You will get results but remember No Pain, No Gain!!!

I love this place. The owners are very friendly and are really interested in people staying active and healthy. I came here a few months ago to try out a Zumba class. I figured, I already did the Zumba DVDs so it would be fun. Well, the class was way more fun and had way kewler music than the vids. I was so impressed that the hubs and I signed up for a punch card for 20 classes each. Since we had to concentrate on other training, we didn’t go back until this past Monday — but they still remembered us and made funny little jabs about us being gone so long. HAHA. They were happy to find out that we were still working on our fitness while we were gone though. Monday was a small class, which was nice, and the people in it were just as motivated to workout as the owners. They were very friendly as well. Once again, it was a fantastic class — challenging, fun, great music AND they incorporated specific ab work at the end because, it seems, people in the classes asked for it. Gotta love an instructor that takes suggestions and rolls with it. I liked the addition of the ab work, BTW. 1 punch down, 19 more to go. I’m sure we’ll keep coming back after we’ve exhausted the punch card though. If you live in the Waldorf area, or any place within a reasonable distance, check them out!

So there I was, downloading the Eventbrite app for my iPhone. I took a quick gander at what was going on in nearby Waldorf, and there was an ad for a free saturday morning Zumba class. I like mixing up my workouts and this was a good opportunity to experience a real-life Zumba class after having watched the videos. The class started at 9:30am. We arrived shortly beforehand to sign waivers and take a look around. The gym is pretty legit. They have locker rooms with lockers that lock. They’ll give you a key with a wristband for them. There’s a «dance room» for the Zumba and other workouts like Tae Kwon Do. There are lots of exercise machines for strength training and they do offer boot camp style classes where they’ll have you performing tire runs, burpees and numerous other calisthenics. If you have kids, there is a «day care» room for them to run around and make a mess. Back to the Zumba class. It was a combination of Zumba and Hip Hop Moves with a dose of Electric slide. It was pretty phenomenal! I run, do cross fit, and Kick box. I was drenched in sweat and most of my muscles were worked. I found myself looking for water between songs. it was one hell of a workout and loads of fun! Of course I was the only dude in there, but that’s okay. I felt like Ricky Martin — shake my bon bon, shake my bon bon, shake my bon bahhhnnnnn! For this alone, I give it the fourth star. The prices are really affordable and the instructors are the real deal. They even have healthy cooking classes and personal fitness instruction where they find out your goals and arrange tailored workouts. You can tell that they take their jobs seriously because this is their business. It is a great place to come if you live in Waldorf or the surrounding area.
